    Dry Space Waterproofing
P.S. on last review for 05/04/2018: When it came time for a yearly tune-up, we tried contacting this company. No reply. We hired another service, and they found issues. We had city inspectors in and had to fix code violations left by this company. All on our own dime. By now, this company has probably changed it's name and done subpar work for other people, so be sure to follow the trail of CCB #s and stay away from these people.

    Bloom Pest Control
They came the same day to do a quote because they had an opening. Nathan came over and he really set me at ease with the process. We had pests that nested under our house, and they had a solution for cleanup, mitigation and sealing of the crawlspace so it wouldn't happen again. I'd say I'd hire them again for a cleanup, but I don't think we have to! They did such a great job. I'd highly recommend them for any of my friends, family and neighbors. A+++

    John's Waterproofing
Carolann was informative and knowledgeable and helped us to decide what worked best for our situation and budget. The work was scheduled in mid-June and was done on time. The crew worked very hard, in hot temperatures. They cleaned up after themselves and the crew leader was available to answer questions and explain what was being done. We will see once the rain returns, how the pumps work, but I am not anticipating problems. If there are any issues they say that they stand behind their work and that is what I have heard from others.

    Dry Space Waterproofing
This was a long process. I had lots of questions for Arnie, and he always took time to answer, as soon as he could. He came well-recommended because of his previous business (NatureSafe Landcare Inc.). Under this new company name, his team put in a Fast Drain around the perimeter, new Vapor Barrier, and 1/3 hp sump pump in our crawl space. That work was fast and professional. The only tarnish on an otherwise stellar experience was his lack of follow-through. We were supposed to hear from his electrician to hook it up, but never heard from them and hired our own. Arnie also said he could replace our old watering control box, too (though it was not part of the original contract), but that didn't happen. I imagine he's to busy with this new business, but even acknowledgment that he couldn't follow through would have been appreciated.

    River Rock General Construction
Jason came for an estimate on time, was very polite and professional. We agreed on a scope of work and the price. The crew of 3 worked for 3 days, removing vapor barrier, grading soil in the crawlspace and digging trenches around the perimeter of the foundation to lead water to the existing drain at the lowest point of the crawlspace. We decided not to go with the pump, relying on gravity instead, so they had to bring in some clay to create the slope. They laid drainage pipes, covered them with gravel, and installed a new vapor barrier. At any point during the project the area was very well protected from dirt and mud, all floor and walls along the path covered with paper and rugs. Then cleaned everything at the end of each day and when it was done, leaving it all as if they never came. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend their services.

    Ability Plus Drainage Co
Ability Plus Drainage listened to the problem I described and the end result I wanted (others didn't). Their proposed solution made sense (others didn't) and they walked me through it all and answered all questions. They did point out that part of what I wanted done was "belt and suspenders" (which I knew, but was willing to pay for as it was not the bulk of the work and was relatively cheap insurance). They showed up promptly every day they were scheduled, worked hard all week, and best of all, I can now report that our basement appears to finally be dry. Work performed: * They dug out a trench along the problem area of our foundation, down past the cold joint. A new French drain was installed below the level of the cold joint. * They painted waterproofing onto the foundation wall (this was the overkill part, but it was a minor portion of the overall cost since the foundation wall was exposed anyway, so it was worth it to me). * They installed Aquaboard against the foundation wall. * They created a swale for diverting surface water and a vertical connection to the French drain.

    Ability Plus Drainage Co
Ability put in a new drainage line along the side of the house, digging down to the base of the foundation, which was a ton of work. They ran pipe out to a spot in the yard for the water to drain to, and they connected the downspouts to the new pipes (The old drain pipes had failed.) They put in a moisture barrier up against the house and sealed the crack. They did this work in very rainy conditions, moving a lot of dirt in the process, but they cleaned up very carefully. For the amount of work that they did the price seemed reasonable. It's been ten months since the work, and it seems to be working as intended.

    TerraFirma Foundation Systems
Terra Firma's estimate was some $20,000 more or 8x higher than everybody else. Their recommended repair plan was unanimously thought every other company thought as ludicrous, alarmist and way overpriced.

    Bloom Pest Control
The team of men who worked on cleaning out my flooded crawlspace and installing the plastic barrier along with sump pump and all the electrical was very professional. The team always carefully protect my house and restoring the house before they left the job site everyday. For the extremely unpleasant nature of the work, Nathan's team were always pleasant, polite and professional. After I bought the house a few months ago, I found out my heating system didn't work. The seller misinformed and told me the heating system never worked the 20 something years they've lived in the house. So, the nice surprise was Nathan said that most of the heating ducts were submerged in water in the crawlspace and broken in parts. He said Bloom can fix that too. Well, I'm very happy that my central heating and cooling system now works like a charm. I highly recommend Bloom to do crawlspace work and I am confident that Bloom is also top in professionalism and quality when it comes to pest control.

    Ability Plus Drainage Co
Other companies will try to sell you $10,000 solutions to seal your crawlspace and install sump pumps and dehumidifiers. These guys don't give you a huge salespitch. But the owner came out and saw that we had an interior low point drain the trenching could be connected to. He's the only one that offered that solution, so I have to give him points for that. I worked up the courage to go down there and investigate a few months later, and the ground was very hard and dry, even where there used to be standing water. I did have to call them back to repair the foundation vent though, which they did promptly without a hassel.
