Home Builder reviews in Albany

It was the busy, summer season when we hired this company so we needed to wait a couple of weeks for them to schedule our work. They were great communicators via email regarding scheduling and sending the bid. Tony Nova was willing to speak to me by phone to answer any questions. One of their administrative staff Krysten was very helpful with specifics on the invoice so that the work completed was explained clearly to any future buyer of our home. Their crew were on time, professional, friendly and hard-working. I would happily recommend this company to anyone in the future.

Extremely prompt service and very competent repairman. Service went smoothly and was told that it would be in my benefit to remove an old garbage disposal (which he did). I feel all went well with no leaks and a fast repair job, same day as called in.

Orezona Bldg & Roofing Co. Inc
Having obtained 3 bids, we choose Orezona based on Angies List reviews, Orezona's bid, and Jason's attention to what we hoped for on the patio roof.  Jason looked at alot of our pictures of what we liked for patio roofs, explained what he thought would work (and look good) and came back twice with ideas and a final concept.  He spent time with us.  The roof ties into the house wonderfully, looks like it has alway been there, and is very impressive...we needed something large because it's on the west side of the house.
A roof is pretty straight forward, so again it was Jason's attention to detail and his suggestions that we  appreciatied.  We incorporated them all.
Years ago we removed a nonsupporting wall but because of the way the ceiling beams were originally installed, the ceiling started it's fixed; they made it look easy; we were impressed and relieved.
While Jason is probablly the first contact you will have with Orenza, we can't say enough good things about Justin and his crew.  They knew we were scheduled to leave town and worked long, hot days to finish the job.  The crew was respectful, answered any questions, laughed often, and did a great job cleaning up.  Justin and Shane are HARD workers.  Would I hire them again? You bet!
Jason, Justin,  and Crew did an excellent job for us and made all the work quite a pleasant experience.

    Anthony Dostie Construction
ON the latest kitchen project, we hired a designer to work out the flow of the space and the rough finishing details. We brought Tony in to confirm the design and be sure that what was drawn could actually be done with the walls that were in place. He found multiple cabinet and counter suppliers when the first ones we went to did not live of to expectations. He does have a large network of people he prefers to go to but does not hesitate to look beyond them when the customer says it is not agood fit as in our case. We set a budget and a finish date for him and off we went. The project was typical. He hired on extra help when needed for specialty work like pipes and electric but overall he did most of the carpentry, floor, etc.
The finished product is amazing. His paint lines are straight, the patches in the ceiling where lights were moved are blended so well we cannot tell where the old fixtures were, etc. It was a good project. wife is happy.

    England & Co
.Steve England met with us to give us a bid.  He promptly provided us with a bid that allowed me to do some of the work and I was billed each month with an itemized bill for the time and materials used.  This method provided accurate accounting and kept us within the provided estimate.  Subcontractors were provided but I was always consulted in case alternates were prefered.  Steve England was very involved in the construction and they worked about 3 months, then left me to finish the project. Steve was very good about being sure I could handle the transition.

This company was the original contractor when our home was built in 2003.  They didn't install the siding correctly in our home and we fought with leaky windows for several years.  When we pulled siding off to try to determine why we had a leak we discovered that it had been installed incorrectly which had caused some significant damage.  The builder refused to cover the damage or repair because it was beyond their one year warranty (Chateau Construction).  They referred me to this contractor who agreed to provide labor only to reside the house.  This was better than nothing I thought so I agreed to his offer to help.  I purchased materials and had them at my house when he said he could do the job.  It turns out he did an extremely poor job on the residing project; siding was put on out of level, corners were crunched and left up on the wall, siding was secured poorly, etc.  I had to have him replace a number of pieces (paying for them again!) in order to get the project done.  Even after his second visit he still left a number of pieces not nailed correctly and uneven on the wall. He made no effort to clean up the nails and garbage from this part of the project and even dropped something heavy and damaged the back door.

This companies workmanship is awful and I wouldn't let them near my house again.  Buyer BEWARE!!

Upon moving in to the house in 2005 we immediately began experiencing problems with windows leaking on the south side of our home.  We contacted Chateau who told us that they weren't obligated to assist because it was beyond the warranty period.  They referred us to the contractor who did the siding who came out at that point and caulked the windows.  We fought leaks in these windows for years, assuming that it was because they weren't properly caulked or the caulking was cracking.  We finally hired a contractor this summer to diagnose the problem which turns out was caused by improperly installed siding.  We contacted Chateau again with this information and they again refused to help other than to pass along the information to the major contractor.  This ended up costing us thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches.

This was obviously a poor workmanship issue from a builder who claims to make high quality homes.  Buyer BEWARE!

Very well. Mr. England provided general contracting services and he and his crew performed the framing for this project. His quotes were accurate and his work was timely and of high quality. He worked with me enabling me to provide labor in areas were I was able in order to save money.
