Moving reviews in Yukon

  • It went smoothly. Job was relatively small so only took them two hours. I paid the 2 hour minimum at $109/hour plus the truck and travel fee of $95.00 even though my move didn't require a truck. CJ & Zeke were very nice and helpful.

  • Where to start with our horrible experience with the Oklahoma RNR group? We hired them because of the good reviews on Angies List and I have no idea how people could be having such a good experience with them, because our experience was the exact opposite. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Their manager Matthew Campbell is one of the most disorganized and scatterbrained manager’s we have ever seen. They ruined and broke over $1,500 worth of our items and completely left behind over $750 worth of our items. They assured us before our move they would put the bolts in to protect our front loading washing machine during the drive. When the washing machine arrived at our new home, NO BOLTS. The manager himself, Matthew Campbell told me afterwards he had just forgotten and had planned to put them in himself, but forgot. OOPS. They told us to get an estimate for repairing the washing machine and they would refund us, ha! They gave us a firm quote for how much the move would cost and on moving day they tried to charge more than that. We resisted because the contract we signed said it was a firm quote. They showed up with the wrong size and too small of trucks because they didn’t reserve the right size beforehand. Left behind so much of our stuff and promised to reimburse us for it. They didn’t. They assured us they would wrap our pictures well. When our pictures arrived they had all been shoved in boxes next to each other and glass had broken, paint was rubbed off, and so many dents and dings on over 30+ pictures. The wrapping material was hilariously just shoved into other boxes and not even used! We had an agreed upon departure date. The day of the move they asked us if they could leave two days earlier. Gave a confusing reason as to why. We were selling the house we were moving out of and had a lot to do in it beforehand and were planning on using those two extra days to get the house ready since we were moving out of state. We accommodated them, left two days early and had to scramble to find people to take care of our house. They changed their minds and left two days later anyway! We paid $8,000’ish for them to pack our things and move them and it was a disaster from start to finish. After they left behind so many of our things, it took them a month to ship us some of it and it all arrived crushed. It was only wrapped in saran wrap, so when it arrived it was completely destroyed it so all of those things were ruined. SARAN WRAP, I kid you not for shipping a pallet across the country. Nothing inside the saran wrap was wrapped or boxed. They took out all the hardware for a gorgeous trellis we had, put the hardware in a baggie….and then didn’t seal the baggie. So, all those screws were thrown everywhere and long gone by the time it arrived. The trellis arrived bent and warped anyway, so oh well. The rest of the stuff they left behind they told us they would reimburse us for and of course never did. Meanwhile we were trying to sell our house and it had all our items they had left behind in it and we had to hire someone to go pile it all up in the garage. Not to mention the RNR workers left behind nasty cigarette butts scattered all over in our old driveway as well as our new driveway. When I spoke with one of the owners on the phone about them leaving our stuff behind he had the audacity to tell me they would “eat the cost” of shipping our left behind items to us, as if it was somehow our fault that they underestimated what we had and showed up with the wrong size trucks. On estimate day we walked around with one of the owners and were very clear about what we had in our house. Oh, let me tell you about our two beautiful crystal chandeliers they assured us that they would build a custom crate for to transport. The chandeliers were not wrapped in ANYTHING. Instead, they got transported in the front seats of the moving vans! They arrived with crystals broken off and chipped in multiple places. We are seriously so shocked they receive such positive reviews because we did not have one positive aspect with RNR. We understand them not reimbursing us for the $1,500+ damage to all of our items because of the insurance we purchased, but them not reimbursing us for all the items they left behind and the items they shipped us being ruined is completely unacceptable. Plus, where is the line for complete negligence? Like the chandeliers and the washing machine? Not to mention we think they stole quite a bit from our garage when they went back to pick up some of the things to ship back to us. We don’t have proof, but they were the only ones that had a way into the house. We went back to the house to pick some things up that could fit into our car to be driven to our new home and they were missing. This included a brand new propane tank and multiple nice metal garden stakes. The only missing were things that could easily be returned for money. Like I said, we don’t have proof, but they were the only ones with access. DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVE! If you do, purchase the highest insurance you can get, otherwise prepare for your items to literally be thrown into a truck and they have no liability for it. We will never use RNR again, and have turned so many of our contacts away from them when they saw what happened in our move. We will never recommend them. For a little laugh…pull up their google reviews and see that a Matthew Campbell reviewed the company and gave it 5 stars. Coincidence? Makes me think some of their other reviews might be fake as well...

  • Just want to give a shout out to a local company here in Yukon, AMAZING MOVERS. They moved all our heavy furniture out of our house and into storage. They showed up right on time and got the job done quickly and efficiently. This is our first time to hire movers and I was shocked at how affordable it was. Definitely worth every penny and we love to support local business.

  • Could not be more pleased with their service. The price I paid was more than fair and reasonable for the service I received. The crew that came to my home, Jacob, James and Will were EXCEPTIONAL !!! Very professional and courteous and made every effort to make sure the job was done to perfection . I so appreciated their patience while I decided where to place things. They never hesitated to do anything I asked no matter how many times I asked them to change things.  I never felt rushed or pressured and was assured their goal was getting the job done to my satisfaction.  They handled my things with extreme care so nothing was damaged which was not the case with other moving companies I have used previously.  I highly recommend College Hunks to anyone for their moving needs. I will never call anyone else in the future . Thanks again College Hunks especially Jacob,James and Will for a job well done. A highly satisfied customer, Carol Bostic Yukon, Oklahoma

  • Job went well. I was frustrated at first with the timing from when dispatch said they were in route and the time they arrived. Once on site they were professional and got the job done. They didn't complain and did everything we asked of them even though we kept them late.

  • WELL THE DAY BEFORE THE MOVERS WAS TO BE THERE, I RECIEVED A CALL FROM ONE OF THE MOVERS SAYING THAT THEY WERE ON THEIR WAY RIDING A GREYHOUND BUS, FROM OKLAHOMA CITY, TO CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS.

SO I DROVE 35 MILES TO CHAMPAIGN, AT 11:00 PM TO PICK UP THE MOVERS AND DRIVE THEM BACK TO DANVILLE AND DELIVERED THEM TO THEIR MOTEL.

THE NEXT DAY, I HAD TO GO AND PICK THEM UP FROM THE MOTEL AND DRIVE THEM 40 MILES DOWN TO WHERE THEY WERE PICKING UP THE U-HAUL TRUCK.  WELL, BY THEN IT WAS ALMOST 11 AM, AND OF COURSE THEY HADN'T EATEN ANYTHING....THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY, SO I SENT MY SISTER OUT TO GET SANDWICHES FOR THE TWO MOVERS.

DURING ALL OF THIS, I FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD JUST STARTED WORKING FOR CONVENIENT MOVERS THE DAY THEY GOT ON THE BUS.  THE MANAGER HAD HIRED THEM OFF OF CRAIG'S LIST.  ANY WAY THEY WORKED THE REST OF THAT DAY AND ALL DAY THE NEXT LOADING THE ONE TRUCK AND THEN THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE RUNNING OUT OF ROOM AND WOULD NEED AN ADDITIONAL TRUCK.  I THEN CALL U-HAUL AND FIND ANOTHER TRUCK, BUT IT WAS 65 MILES OVER IN INDIANA.  SO ONE OF THE LOADERS AND I DRIVE OVER TO TERRA HAUTE, INDIANA.  THAT KILLED ANOTHER 3 HOURS.  SO WE GET BACK AND THEY START LOADING THE LITTLE TRUCK AND THEN ABOUT 7PM THEY FINISHED AND WERE READY TO GO.

THIS WAS ON FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2013 AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD MEET ME AT MY HOUSE IN YUKON, OKLAHOMA ON SUNDAY THE 21st OF JULY 2013.  WE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH THEM THAT EVENING VIA CELL PHONES BUT THE NEXT DAY THEY DIDN'T PICK UP TO ANSWER THE PHONE.

WE ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE LATE SATURDAY EVENING AND WERE WAITING ON THEM ALL DAY SUNDAY, BUT THEY NEVER ARRIVED.  THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE CELL PHONE.

ON MONDAY, I CALLED THE OFFICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO REACH THE MOVERS.  BUT I NEVER RECIEVED A CALL BACK THAT DAY.  SO I CALLED THE NEXT DAY, AND THE NEXT DAY, AND THE NEXT DAY AND THEN I CALLED THE OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT TO REPORT A THEFT, BUT WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO FILE THE COMPLAINT IN DANVILLE ILLINOIS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THAT WAS WHERE THEY STOLE THE STUFF FROM.

SO I CALLED THE POLICE UP IN DANVILLE AND FILED A REPORT WITH THEM.  WHEN I DID GET IN CONTACT WITH THE MANAGER OF CONVENIENT MOVERS, HIS NAME WAS JAY; HE GAVE ME THE NAME OF THEIR INSURANCE COMPLANY.  I CALLED THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE TO COVER THE COMPANY TO USE RENTAL TRUCKS, THEY WERE ONLY COVERED TO USE THEIR OWN TRUCKS WHICH DIDN'T MAKE ANY SINCE BECAUSE IT WAS A BUSINESS.

ANYWAY I SPENT ABOUT 3 WEEK MAKING A LIST OF ITEMS AND CLOTHING THAT WERE ON THE TWO TRUCKS AND IT WAS STAGGERING.  THE TOTAL FOR EVERING THAT I COULD REMEMBER AT THE TIME WAS OVER $300,000.00.

ONE OF THE TRUCKS WAS FOUND ABOUT 4 WEEKS LATER IN OCALA, FLORIDA EMPTIED.  AND THE OTHER TRUCK WAS FOUND, BACK IN DANVILLE ILLINOIS EMPTY 6 MONTHS LATER WITH OVER 10,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.

THE POLICE HAVE ISSUED WARRANTS FOR THE INDIVIUALS BECAUSE MY SISTER AND I PICKED THEM OUT OF A PHOTO ARRAY.

MY HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE POLICY PAID ONE THIRD OF MY LOSS BECAUSE THAT WAS THE MAXIMUM ON MY POLICY.  THE COMPANY THINKS THAT THEY ARE NOT LIABLE.  THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN TRIED TO COMPENSATE ME AT ALL IN THIS MATTER.

  • We had a horrible experience with You Move Me.  We could never recommend them.  They destroyed our stainless steel refrigerator.   It is now covered with scratches, dents, bends and dings.  They removed the doors and then reinstalled them crooked.   It?s unusable ? a $2,300 Samsung destroyed by You Move Me.  They also lost a $200 mirror.  The first offered us a $150; we complained then they offered us $300.  It was an insulting offer.  And it took them weeks to get to this offer, and we had to keep calling and emailing them. Don?t use You Move Me.

  • The guys that came out were very professional. I explained I wanted extra care when moving into the new home. The home had wood floors and was brand new. They used extra care and did everything they could to prevent damage. I did have 2 minor scratches but easily repairable. They wrapped everything appropriately and laid runners down on the wood floor. They took things apart and put them back together without any damage. These guys were great. They worked 8 hours straight and I brought them lunch they worked so hard.
    - Kevin P.
  • Perfect, right on time to start and worked a full 10 hours.  Everything was wrapped as it was put into the van.  Unloaded and nothing broke or damaged.  I never saw the guys even take a break.  Did exactly what they said they would.  Recommend them no problem!
    - Dustin D.
  • They did a decent job.  However, it seemed like the movers were taking their time to bump up the price.  We had eight people there to help with the moving and each of them moved more stuff than the movers did.  We had absolutely everything boxed up and taken apart before they arrived, so they should have been able to move really fast.  Our friends were there to get the job done quickly, but it seemed like the movers were there to make money and it showed in their performance. The owner is very respectful and professional.
