  • The comopany came on time and worked quickly. The main problem with installation was the condition of my driveway. They ask if the cement truck could back up in the driveway. Being not very experienced with this, I told them ok. This left my driveway with severe cracks. Now three years later, the shelter is rusting on the inside. I can only imagine what the part in the ground looks like. I called and ask for warranty service. They said that the rust was due to leaking. This shelter is in the garage! There has never been any water in the garage. They said that this is maintence that I should have done according to maintence guide that I received at installation . I did not receive a maintenance guide at instillation. The only things covered in the warranty is floating up and the latch/rollers. The maintenance guide was then e-mailed to me. It said to spray paint the rust with Rustoleom paint. My advice would be to use a company that uses galvanized metal or polyurethane for the shelter.

  • Paul Hillian arranged all the professionals to come to the house and repair everything needed from storm damage.  He even did things here and there that we asked him to do while at the house doing other things and he jumped right to it.  Very professional and discloses everything up front so you are not expecting any unforeseen issues.

  • He is very well rounded in his business and I think he could do just about anything we plan on using him again to stain our house and privacy fence once it cools down so he can get on the roof and stain are cedar shingles. If you use him too I am sure you will get a quality job at a reasonable price. By the way LOWES charges $150.00 per storm door installation and it was too pricey for us retired people.

  • They did a great job and we were pleased with them. My husband dealt with them mostly. He took off that day and they came out and got it in fairly quickly. They were almost done with it when I got home from work. The shelter was a larger one and they had several guys out here working. They cleaned up after themselves and did a good job.

  • I used Angie's List to find them. Their price was phenomenal because I thought that it was going to be considerably more. The price even included the tax which surprised me. The safe room is guaranteed to last an F25 tornado since I am in Oklahoma and we are a tornado alley so it is imperative that people have protection here. They do below-ground and above-ground safe rooms and I just decided to put an above-ground safe room in my garage just because it is easier to access especially since I am 62 so I do not plan to move anywhere. It is easier to get into especially with dogs. Last May when we were devastated by tornadoes out here, there was one storm in particular making a bing on my neighborhood and it was two miles away and I did not have a safe room so I put three dogs in a tiny car and drove 100 miles to escape the thing. I drove and drove before I realized that I was safe because the tornado kept going on the direction that I was going and it was the stupidest thing that I could have done. You do not run from a tornado. It would have been devastating if the tornado had not left and it left before it hit my neighborhood. That is why we have a safe room in my garage now. They were wonderful. They were on time and quick because it did not require an excavation. They did not have to dig a hole in my garage and it is all secured by a whole bunch of huge bolts. It is anchored into my garage and they just did exactly what I wanted them to do. If I am going to need another safe room, I would absolutely use them again.

  • The service providers were on time and very professional, and the unit itself appears to be of good quality. However, the following issues were identified after the job was complete, which led to my luke-warm opinion.

    a) The top of the shelter unit has several instances of dents and noticeable scratches which were painted over at an attempt to conceal the damage. After the paint dried, the damage was still noticeable.

    b) Damage to concrete edges in the garage was made as a part of digging the hole. No repair was attempted.

    c) Damage to concrete areas on the driveway was made as a part of driving the tractor to perform the digging.

    d) Concrete/water solution spills remained on the driveway area and many liters spilled on the yard (about 3ft by 3 ft).

Am I pleased that we have a storm shelter in case of a tornado, but the issues above are not appropriate. At a minimum, I would encourage anyone using Ground Zero to inspect the shelter thoroughly, inquire of the service providers how to prevent damage, and not complete payment until any damages are repaired.

  • They are professional all the time.  It's still in process but they're hardworking and very focus.  They were more experience, more transparent, work processes and they're more willing to perform the work without requiring a major down payment like other companies do.

  • Excellent communication and service start to finish. Glenn and his helper showed up at the agreed upon time. There was almost zero concrete dust from cutting the garage floor because Glenn used a wet saw. Glenn and his helper cleaned as they went keeping dirt and debris to a minimum. The interior of the shelter was filthy when they took it off the truck, but by the time the shelter was in the hole and the concrete has been poured, Glenn's helper has the interior bright, clean and white like it is supposed to be. Glenn spent a long time troweling the newly poured cement until he had a perfectly smooth surface that was just slightly beveled. Final clean up was fast and efficient and my driveway has never been cleaner. A most satisfactory job from start to finish and Glenn and his helper even moved some of my shelving back into place in the garage before departing.

  • Absolutely wonderful experience with the Ground Zero crew who installed my shelter. They were punctual and efficient. The process was quick and they cleaned up after themselves. During the digging, a very small amount of damage was done on my garage. I didn't even know about it until the foreman explained to me how he was going to fix it - he repaired and repainted the area himself that afternoon. In addition to being very professional, the whole crew was kind to my 4 year old son who was very excited about the shelter. They gave him earplugs and showed him everything they were doing. It was a great experience and I recommend Ground Zero to anyone interested in a storm shelter.

  • Went to showroom and ordered shelter in about 15 minutes. Scheduled job and crew showed up exactly when they said they would. Installed and cleaned up in about 3 hours. The crew who did my work was very professional and did a great job. It was FREAKIN COLD that day but they just got it done with no complaining. I can't remember the crew leader's name but I would recommend them to anyone who uses Flat safe. I was very satisfied and now my wife has a place to hide when storms come.
