  • He and his partner worked efficiently and were willing to come back several times to complete things once other non-electrical parts of the project had been done. His charges were very close to the estimate and only increased as we asked him to do more things.

  • Shane and Jeff showed up on time and ready to work.  I showed them the jobs that needed to be done and got out of the way.  They worked from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.  They took less than an hour to go to lunch and pick up supplies and were back on the job.  The job was done very professionally and they cleaned up entirely, even vacuumed, after they were done.  I had bought the light and ceiling fan for them to put up.  I also asked to have a dimmer put in.  Turns out the light I bought was not compatible with a dimmer.  They found this out after calling the manufacturer and talking to them for 30 minutes until they figured out what had happened.  Neither of the guys said a discouraging word about the time that was wasted because I had purchased the wrong light, they just fixed the problem and went on.
    I will definitely be calling AJ Electric anytime I have an electrical problem or job to be done.  Excellent work.

  • Red Dirt Systems was the vendor recommended by builder and was chosen to do the installation of the complete house wiring for home theater and sound system as well as internet wiring and satellite television for 7 televisions. I trusted the builder and did not ask for a competitive bid.

      I personally went through went through the house with Mr. Peterson of Red Dirt Systems marking all of the wall and ceiling studs for the boxes for the various connections. The wiring was completed in one and half days.  I was living in a house that was approx. 400 feet from the new construction and being retired I went over the next morning to see how the final wiring looked. Other contractors were going to install the wall insulation that day and the wallboard the next day which would cover up all of the wiring.  Having a background in computer networking and communications I was interested in their work.  However, when going throughout the house, I found that they had missed the wiring for my office/study for the internet connection, television connection, and ceiling speakers. I called the builder who suggested that I call Red Dirt Systems directly to save time.  When I called and talked Mr. Peterson (whom I had dealt with from the beginning) he told me that he did a final walk through the evening before and everything was OK.  I told him he needed to come back out before the insulation and wallboard was installed.  About and hour later he showed up and I showed him what was missing. He agreed that I was right and he summoned his crew to come out and correct (finish) the wiring that same morning. He was very apologetic and thanked me for catching their mistake as it would have cost a lot more money to come back and correct it after the insulation and wallboard was installed. I don't know how they could have missed something so obvious. I overlooked this and did not make an issue of it.

    After the house was completed, they would come back out and finish the connections and mount 4 of the TV's on the wall. In addition they would test the satellite TV connections, sound systems, and networking.  We were not able to move in right away due to other plumbing systems not completed.  but agreed to review their work and give us training on how to operate the various systems.  The satellite television system worked fine, however the router would not work with the network and sound system as advertised.  A few days later Mr. Peterson came out with a cheaper router that did work.  I ask him about the price difference and he indicated that it would offset the cost of having them move one of the wall mounts that we ask them to move.  He indicated that he would need a check for the entire payment when he would do the training on the new router.  The training lasted about one hour of which most of the time he spent trying to figure the router connection out with the sound system.  My daughter, a senior in college, and myself worked it out while he was surfing the internet trying to find the solutions. I gave him a check for full payment as he seemed to be needing it for cash flow.

     About a month later, we were able to move into the new house and I was eager to setup my new office and study.  I hooked my computer internet wire into the wall and it was dead.  I called Mr. Peterson who sent his son back out. He found that the wire had not been terminated at the main connection box. He fixed it and while he was there I asked him if they would give me a quote on mounting the TVs on the walls in our spare bedrooms as we realized that there was a space constraint.. We never got a reply on our request. A few weeks later our satellite television when out on the Saturday night on Labor Day weekend.  I opened the door of the cabinet in the family room where the equipment was kept under the articulating wall television.  I tried to pull out the drawer and the cables were so tight that I could not hardly get it to move. I noticed that other electrical components were off so I went to the main electrical cabinet in the garage to find that a circuit breaker had tripped. I reset it and went back to the family room to reset the components in the family.  I was finally able to look behind the components to see that the HDMI was bent in half because there was no slack in the wire.  It had been bound so tight with wire ties that it could not move with out bending.  Not able to use this TV I went into my study to see if I could take the HDMI cable from it to use in the family room.  It hangs on the wall and when I moved the articulating arm to get to the cable I found that it also had been bound so tight that it also bent the HDMI cable.  The two other TV's that were wall mounts were fine.  Sunday and Monday we were gone most of the day so no time was spent trying to deal with the TV"s.  I called Mr. Peterson on Tuesday morning and he said that he would send a serviceman out.  While talking to him I ask again about the quote for mounting the TV's on the walls in the spare bedrooms that I had asked his son about a few weeks earlier. The serviceman came out in about a couple of hours later and found the bent cables.  He said that he had only one cable and would need to go back to the shop to get another one.  A couple hours later he came back with the other cable and two pieces of paper.  One for the quote for hanging the 2 TV's and an invoice for over $90 for the service call and the cables. I had the serviceman leave the broken and bent cables with me as I felt that they should be under warranty and was a result of a bad installation.  I then called Mr. Peterson and talked to him about the cables.  He said that I had bent them by pulling out the system.  I told him that the wires should not have been tied that tight that they could not be moved without bending or breaking and the it was due to poor installation.  He told me to tear up the invoice and hung up.  I called back and got his voice mail and ask him if the could do the work per the quote on hanging the other TV's on the wall.  A few day went by so I called and left him a message again.  Last week I called him again from another phone and he answered.  I ask if he got my messages and he acknowledged that he did.  I ask him about doing the work as per the quote on hanging the other TV's.  He told me to "Get somebody else".  Shocked I ask if he was upset over the cables and he said that it was my fault and he was not interested and that I should call Best Buy.  He hung up. In all of my years working in the business world I  have never been treated so unprofessionally. Having spent over $6000 and then be treated like this over 2 cables and a service call on something that should have been a warranty call is ridiculous. This has been a very frustrating experience especially in building a new home and having to deal with this   I definitely would not recommend.

  • Terry Walton was very polite, responsive, and professional on the phone. He kept me informed when parts had to be ordered (and even once when it didn't get ordered) -- there was a mistake on the vendor's part, I think -- and he was very apologetic and owned the problem.
    Once he had finished the heat/exhaust installation, I noticed the switches weren't connected in what I thought was a logical way. I called him and he immediately scheduled a time to come out and rearrange them to my satisfaction.
    His prices were reasonable, and his work was all neat and satisfactory.
    Terry is an independent contractor, and a colleague referred me to him because he was a neighbor and a kind man. I knew nothing about his work. Now I can say yes, he is a kind man. A kind man who does great work at a competitive price!

  • I am remodeling the laundry room in a 57 year old house. I completely gutted the room and wanted to add electrical outlets, ground existing 2 prong outlets, remove two old electrical panels that had previously been replaced but not removed, and move the location of a light switch. Mr. Walton came out promptly when I called him, and within a week gave me a quote for the the work I wanted done. During the first visit he offered suggestions, with the most important suggestion being that my electrical panel was full and I would not be able to complete a future kitchen remodel without expanding my electrical service to 200 amps. He gave me almost a week's notice to let me know when my work was on his schedule. He came exactly when he said he would, he was professional , he did what he said he would, he didn't waste any time, and charged what he said he would. He replaced my electrical panel, had it inspected by the city inspectors, and had electricity back on in less than three hours. I was very pleased with Mr. Walton's work and will be calling him again to complete the laundry room once I get the drywall up and also when I remodel other rooms in my house.

  • I had another company do some work and when, Christmas Eve, I had a problem, Mid Plains was recommended and came out to see what happened. They advised me and ensured my safety and came out after the holidays. Upon inspection, the work done earlier by another contractor was not to code and so problematic Mid Plains called the City Inspector out to document the work. The work done by Mid Plains was excellent. When a problem was identified, they showed me the issue and explained what the possible outcomes were. In one case, the previous contractor had not properly grounded the refrigerator and if a wire had come loose, the consequences would have been serious.
    Not only did they explain and show to me what was going on, but they called the City to review their work.
    I have had no problems since they worked on my house. Furthermore, they cleaned up so I did not have a massive amount of work.
    We call Mid Plains for any and all work needed. I learned about them through a friend and have never been happier, safer and felt secure because of their work.

  • He is timely, professional, fairly priced, but most of all courteous and takes EXTREME PRIDE in his work.  I have never been so excited to work with someone who truly is passionate about his job, and doing it by code, and correct in every way.  He wanted to do things to keep my daughter safe, and update our home for her properly.  He showed up on time and his team of employees worked with us and my daughter's college schedule.

    I couldn't think of ever using another Electrician for our family.  I even asked him if he would drive all the way to Owasso to do work for us here.  I can trust his honesty, integrity, and work ethic.  I was highly impressed.
