I am due probably in June for their yearly physical, so a year ago, in June. I have three dogs, so it?s usually about a $120 a dog. I don?t know how fair that is to say, cause if you put $375, they?re going to say, ?Oh my god that?s crazy!?

They?re really high. The dogs have had surgery, they?re very good, but very expensive too. Actually, I paid for that. If you have an emergency, it?s $100, but they?re there. Just to see an x-ray is $100 to get them. They?ll even come to your house, but you?ve got to pay for it, but they?ll do anything. It takes a little bit to get into the room. She takes her time. I like that.

Did not go well...at all.  I agree with one of your reviewers.  Are not responsive to cats at all.  My cat had a growth on her leg. This turned into a very negative result of the test they did.  I was emotionally drained and don't feel I got much sympathy from them.  At the suggestion they remove the growth, they indicated they would prefer not to due to her health issues.  They stood back from her carrier like she had typhoid. My cat was one of the sweetest you'd ever meet.  The general feeling you are left with when you (I) bring in a cat, is they'd rather not examine one.  The attitude coupled with the lack of emotional response was the death knell on this vet.  On this particular visit, I literally left their office and drove directly to The Norman Cat Clinic.  I was met with care, concern, and none of the stand-off attitude I received at Northside.  They gave me the options on her health and were prepared to do whatever was necessary.  When Northside first opened, they gave tours of their place.  The girl that took me through the facility was complaining about the cats meowing and that she didn't like cats.  This from some cats in a cage about 4 feet away from dogs.  THAT should have been the first red flag before I went back.  I was trying to save my cat the stress of a 30 mile trip.  One other incident that floored me...I took my cat in for shots.  Shouldn't have been a problem.  I'm sitting in waiting room, covered her carrier with towel, so the dogs wouldn't freak her out.  All of a sudden, a door bursts open, a large German Shepherd comes out in an extremely aggressive manner at another large dog.  It was frightening.  When that was over, I asked the girl at desk, if there was a separate area I could wait with my cat.  She told me I could wait in the car and they could call me.  If you are going to deal in small animals, and you building these complexes, why can you not do a small area for cats???

Excellent, they are the best at what they do! My dog was beautiful and was not stressed out. I would recommend them to anyone. Excellent service! We like them so well we drive 45 minutes & would not let anyone one else groom my puppy!

We went in for a scheduled appointment for our puppies booster shots.
Everything went great! Shaun is one of the nicest people at Northside
and is very professional and courteous. Nothing to complain about and we will take our puppies back here again.

I used them because they had very good rating on Angie’s list.  I think it is very good and helpful.  They did what they were supposed to do.  The person there is not personable and is very bland.  He did not even come into the office and shake my hands.  He was fine with the animal.  It was awful.  He has no sympathy or compassion at all.  I don’t want to go back to him.  There is another thing that bothers me about him and that is he says not to contact him in case of emergencies and instead go to Oklahoma City.  That is a 40 minute drive and how can I go that far with a sick animal.  He wanted to get out of the room quick, so he was very quick.  He did not do anything wrong.  He did what he was supposed to.  The only problem I had was his personality.

They had in house lab tests which made determining a problem fast and reduced the suffering of the oldest dog. They were very compassionate about both dogs' health and even my situation which was very stressed as well. Most visits before this one were handled in a consistantly conscientous way. The owner also pays a living wage to his staff.

Our dog developed a bad limp, and we took her to see Dr. Roach. He said homeopathic methods would fix it up. We took her back for treatments for many weeks and it seemed to get some better. Then the hip totally went bad. He finally told us it was an ACL injury and gave us the name of a good vet who specialized in repairing these injuries with surgery in Oklahoma city. That doctor fixed the problem. If we had taken her there in the first place we could have avoided the expensive and ineffective homeopathic cure used by Dr. Roach.

When I called to make the appointment, the woman was quite rude and pushy about the puppy having to be tested for heartworm even though she was less than 6 months old. When we actually saw the Vet Tech, she checked with the Vet and only the 15 year old needed a heartworm test (which was negative). Both dog and puppy were given a Rabies vaccination, but were handled a bit rough for dogs that weigh less than 4 pounds. When we checked out from our appointment, another client came in to arrange payments for a bad check that her mother had given. Even though one of the ladies at the front desk had already made arrangements with this woman, the other woman that was helping us began screaming at the woman who was making payment arrangements and totally humiliated her in front of the entire waiting room full of people. I decided right then that I would NOT be going back there EVER for ANY reason. This vet clinic is NOT good with small dogs nor with clients. I would NOT recommend them to anyone EVER.

Our 15 year old Chihuahua was screaming in pain from her neck. We took her to this Vet and he recommended alternative light therapy treatments twice a week for several weeks. He was gentle and loving with our little 3 pound dog. The staff was concerned and followed up after treatments. After each treatment we saw definite improvement in our dog's ability to walk and move without pain. After the full treatment, our dog made a complete recovery and is now playing more than ever before. We and our dog were treated with kindness and respect at all times.

The people at Shawnee Animal Hospital are devoted to animals. They are always extremely courteous and genuinely concerned about the animals they see. Their prices are very reasonable and my dog always enjoys his trip to the vet.
