    Risher's Cleaning & Handymen

I purchased a big deal for four hours of handyman service on August 21. Squeaky Clean contacted me and an appointment was set up for 1:00 pm on August 24, but no one showed or contacted me. I called them and they said they would be there on August 25 between 1 and 4- again a no show and no contact from them. I contacted them on September 2 and asked when the next available appointment would be and they said they could come on September 26th, but that time did not work for me and their next available appointment was October 30th.  I told them I opted to have someone else repair my ceiling and asked what other services they provide - I needed some painting done. They asked that I remove the negative review from Angie's List and scheduled an appointment for October 30th.  They were a no show and when I asked for my money to be refunded they said that no appointment had been scheduled.  They said they could come and do the painting on November 9th- again a no show and I have not heard from them. They Big Deal expires on November 15, so I guess I have wasted a lot of time and money on this service provider.

This was the 3rd time I have used Kevin for jobs around our home.  As usual, Kevin was prompt and professional.  He completed the tasks in 3 days.  No issues.  So nice to have a job done right the first time!

Kevin is a professional. He does quality work and everything was done right the first time.

In October of 2013, he replaced some screen panels on the back porch and rebuilt the screen door. He also replaced some of the damaged wood framing and painted the door and framing.

In December of 2013, he replaced a damaged subfloor in my daughter's house, put down a whole new subfloor and laid cork flooring on top of subfloor. He was neat, fast and everything looks great. It was a pleasure working with him.

    Handyman Extraordinaire
I have worked with Jimmy before, but this recent experience was very frustrating. He did work for us about a year ago on a door and did a nice job. While he was there, we asked for an estimate on building out a closet in the master bedroom. He gave us the estimate and we filed it away so we could revisit it when we had the money.
Recently, we asked him to come back to discuss installing a door in another closet. Jimmy gave us an estimate and also sent us the estimate that he previously made for the master closet. So in recap, we had two (2) estimates:
    1. Installing a door and enclosing a closet, and (new estimate)
    2. Building a new closet for the master bedroom. (old estimtae)
The total estimate for both was approximately $2,800.00. It took Jimmy almost a week to get us the estimate on #1. Once he did, I sent him an email asking if he would consider taking less if we did both projects at the same time. I wanted to see if Jimmy would CONSIDER going lower. His response was shocking. Instead of knocking a little off the price, or saying no, he responded by completely removing their bid leaving us high and dry. We are trying to get this project done before our new baby arrives and now we have to start from scratch. Jimmy wasted our time in getting us the estimate and now has wasted even more time; now we have to find someone else to do the job.
Communication is the key and there was a lack of it on this case on their end. I don't think completely withdrawing a bid is how to respond to a reasonable offer of someone for the builder to CONSIDER taking less.

    All Home Repair
Since he saw "sucker" written on my forehead due to my handicap, this man literally STAGED small areas done properly so he could shoot a photo of it to get paid as a portion of the work was "completed".  It was taking so long, and he wasn't showing up so often, leaving only one worker there most of the time, that I fired him because of that, but when I got other workers in there I was sent into a state of shock I am still trying to recover from.  Virtually everything he did had to be corrected or redone due to extremely sloppy workmanship, even to the point that I would call some of it blatant vandalism.  Even though I provided 6 rolls of masking paper and 8 rolls of masking tape, he masked NOTHING.  The entire house was literally a massive overspray, including my appliances, every window in the house, my built in natural wood bookcases, the natural wood mantel of my fireplace, the custom painted "wood look" front door, EVERYTHING RUINED WITH HEAVY OVERSPRAY, even turned completely white!!!
I spent a lot of time and money selecting paint colors for the rooms, even with him helping me select them, and then they mixed ALL THE COLORS TOGETHER and painted the entire house that one color!!  At one point, he called me to ask if the interior doors were supposed to be painted, even though I'd given him a detailed list, and I told him NO, the doors are not to be painted.  He said he would clean them for me, like he was doing me a favor, and the next thing I hear is he painted them all, again as if he was doing me a favor.  Well, obviously, he'd oversprayed them beyond repair so he had to paint them.  But even that was screwed up because the paint used was ceiling paint mixed with the high quality paint I'd bought for the molding, making it a chalky unwashable paint, and then HE LEANED THE WET DOORS TOGETHER SO THEY DRIED STUCK TOGETHER RUINING EVEN THE HORRIBLE JOB HE'D DONE.
The first thing the new workers discovered was that the clickable floating floor installed in one bedroom, which was to go throughout the house, was lacking the underlayment I'd bought for it, so they took it up so they could do it right.  Upon doing so, not only did they find nails and filth under the floor proving it had never even been swept, but the idiot had even SAWED A HOLE in my floor for some unknown reason, and then FILLED THAT HOLE IN MY FLOOR WITH SHEET ROCK!!!  OMG!!  Not only that, the floor planks were lined up rather than spaced apart so the seams went right in a row!!  The floors he was supposed to level for tile were not leveled at all, and he was about to put hardi-board down, which would have caused broken tiles in my future.  The list of fraudulent work goes on and on.
THIS ONE EXAMPLE TELLS IT ALL... I wanted him to paint the bathroom window black and seal it behind sheet rock with the insulation I'd purchased for him.  Oh, they painted it alright, WITH THE WINDOW OPEN!!!  OMG!!  The window was only partially painted as a result, no insulation was even put there, even though the insulation I bought disappeared off the planet.  When the new workers came THE WINDOW WAS STILL OPEN, and it had rained several days into the sealed up wall!!!  Is that anything but vandalism?  And then there is the sheet rock job, only screwed in occassionally, resulting in the sheet rock bowing out giving a wavy effect on the painted walls!!  Of course, all my 20 pounds of screws were missing from the job.
HEAR ME, PEOPLE, THIS MAN IS NOT ONLY A POOR EXCUSE FOR A HANDIMAN, BUT HE IS A LIAR AND A THIEF.  HE'S A SCAM ARTIST!!  I've only included some examples of the massive mess he left behind.  Oh, he talks a good spin, telling you all the favors he's doing for you, but DO NOT TRUST HIS WORK OR HIS WORD OR HIS STICKY HANDS!!!  HE'S SCUM OF THE EARTH.  The only way he could have gotten all the good reviews is by creating them himself.  DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!!

    Osage Construction
Osage Construction initially was hired to tear out the floor of an upstairs deck. They installed a new decking material from Lowes that looks amazing. There was a leak between the upstairs deck and the porch downstairs. They fixed this issue.
They then installed new guttering on the house. We installed some copper guttering on the front of the house and galvanized guttering on the sides and back.  The guttering and drainage is so much better than it was when we moved into the home a few months ago.
They also painted the entire outside trim, doors, gazebo and storage building.  They were very neat and tidy. They didn't drip and spill. Very neatly and professionally completed.
They also install ten new ceiling fans and four light fixtures.
There was extensive work at the house for approximately six weeks. Manford and his help were extremely professional, kept me abreast of any changes to the jobs being performed. Yhey were punctual, committed to completion of the work and made valuable recommendations to me to make better decisions.
Everything that I asked, he was able to do.  I would highly recommend him and will be using him in the future to remodel a bathroom.  EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT  performance.

.He had come by at an earlier date to give me an estimate for the work, which I had approved.  The job came in at his quoted price. The work was done very well, and probably would have taken less time if I hadn't been peppering him with questions, and asking for input about future work to be done.  Even at that he did the work in a timely manner.
He showed me his website after the work was done, and I have to say that had I been aware of the scope and quality of his work before I called him, I probably would not have done so, thinking he wouldn't be interested in such a small job as I needed to have done.  I'm glad I did call him however, and plan to have him do more work in the future.

We had some drywall repair work that needed to be done before we could paint so I thought I'd take advantage of their "coupon" to see if their service was worthy of further work.  Needless to say, it wasn't.  I was impressed that once I called, they were able to get me scheduled in very quickly.  The 2 man crew showed up on time and I showed them the work I needed done.  This is where the service failed.  The lead contractor's cell phone rang constantly.  Apparently there was some confusion from the home office about the services I had purchased and when I provided the details, the lead contractor explained that since I had purchased 8 man hours and they sent out a team of two, that they wouldn't be working all day.  Fine, completely understand.  I guess the big rub came when they showed up without any of what I would consider basic consumables for a project like this.  I would have been more than happy to purchase these materials before hand had they let me know this.  Or I would have paid them for what they used provided they didn't try to game the system by seriously over charging for such basic materials.  Needless to say, there was a trip for "supplies" involved and as I live quite a ways outside of Tulsa city limits, there was considerable delay.  The lead contractor did tell me they would work extra to make up for this delay.  Which they did, somewhat.  The biggest thing that blew this wide open for me was the fact that I had to pay for gas for their truck.  And they were perfectly at ease over this.  So despite the fact that the work was acceptable, I will find another company to come in and finish up and then paint.

    Rhein Remodeling
He started about a week later than originally promised but once he got going it was fine. He provided a simple contract and did everything he said he would. He and his helper showed up on time every morning and worked steadily until mid-afternoon. a couple of small mistakes in the tile work were immediately and cheerfully fixed when I pointed them out and he adapted to a few changes in our original plan, e.g. changing the layout of the floor tile from straight to diagonal, without hesitation or complaint. We really didn't have any problems worth mentioning and he finished a day ahead of schedule so we were able to use the bathroom in time for our christmas gatherings.
