I requested a quote to have the walls and ceiling mud, taped, sanded, and textured in my living room, hall, and a bedroom. The next morning Joel was there to give me a estimate and within a few hours he called me telling me how much it would cost. I hired Joel and him and his crew started work the following Monday and completing the job a few days later on Wednesday. The job they did was amazing. I will hire again for future projects

, I got their original estimate in March, along with two others. It seemed high, and was more than I wanted to pay, so I originally chose another contractor.  Big mistake!  I cancelled the contract with him after I found out he had legal problems, and had been less than honest with me. I  managed to lose $2800 in the process!
I had been very impressed with James and Yana when they had originally come out to give me the estimate, so I called them back and asked if they would work with me to come up with a lesser scope of work, and a lower price, which they graciously did.
I really messed them up with making changes to what I would do, and what I wanted them to do, but they were pleasant and professional through it all.  We had a couple of minor glitches, but they were addressed and taken care of right away.
One of the things that impressed me most was that their subs were always here right when James said they'd be, and he was able to work around me taking two grandkids to summer day camp each day the last week
The job involved taking out an old tub and the 1970s tile around it, removing the paneling on the walls and the popcorn ceiling, and smoothing out the drywall  (I did all the painting), replacing the sub-floor, taking out the old toilet and vanity - the latter without damaging it since I was putting it in my other bathroom.  The new work is a tiled shower on the old footprint of the tub, tile floor, installation of new toilet and smaller vanity I'd had built, a new light fixture and GFI outlet.  The Service Guy provided the granite top for the vanity, but otherwise I purchased all materials. The job involved carpenters, plumber, electrician and tilers, so scheduling was quite complex.
I ended up with the coastal/beachy bathroom I wanted.  James and Yana and all their subs were wonderful to work with and all did professional, quality work.  I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

    All Home Repair
Since he saw "sucker" written on my forehead due to my handicap, this man literally STAGED small areas done properly so he could shoot a photo of it to get paid as a portion of the work was "completed".  It was taking so long, and he wasn't showing up so often, leaving only one worker there most of the time, that I fired him because of that, but when I got other workers in there I was sent into a state of shock I am still trying to recover from.  Virtually everything he did had to be corrected or redone due to extremely sloppy workmanship, even to the point that I would call some of it blatant vandalism.  Even though I provided 6 rolls of masking paper and 8 rolls of masking tape, he masked NOTHING.  The entire house was literally a massive overspray, including my appliances, every window in the house, my built in natural wood bookcases, the natural wood mantel of my fireplace, the custom painted "wood look" front door, EVERYTHING RUINED WITH HEAVY OVERSPRAY, even turned completely white!!!
I spent a lot of time and money selecting paint colors for the rooms, even with him helping me select them, and then they mixed ALL THE COLORS TOGETHER and painted the entire house that one color!!  At one point, he called me to ask if the interior doors were supposed to be painted, even though I'd given him a detailed list, and I told him NO, the doors are not to be painted.  He said he would clean them for me, like he was doing me a favor, and the next thing I hear is he painted them all, again as if he was doing me a favor.  Well, obviously, he'd oversprayed them beyond repair so he had to paint them.  But even that was screwed up because the paint used was ceiling paint mixed with the high quality paint I'd bought for the molding, making it a chalky unwashable paint, and then HE LEANED THE WET DOORS TOGETHER SO THEY DRIED STUCK TOGETHER RUINING EVEN THE HORRIBLE JOB HE'D DONE.
The first thing the new workers discovered was that the clickable floating floor installed in one bedroom, which was to go throughout the house, was lacking the underlayment I'd bought for it, so they took it up so they could do it right.  Upon doing so, not only did they find nails and filth under the floor proving it had never even been swept, but the idiot had even SAWED A HOLE in my floor for some unknown reason, and then FILLED THAT HOLE IN MY FLOOR WITH SHEET ROCK!!!  OMG!!  Not only that, the floor planks were lined up rather than spaced apart so the seams went right in a row!!  The floors he was supposed to level for tile were not leveled at all, and he was about to put hardi-board down, which would have caused broken tiles in my future.  The list of fraudulent work goes on and on.
THIS ONE EXAMPLE TELLS IT ALL... I wanted him to paint the bathroom window black and seal it behind sheet rock with the insulation I'd purchased for him.  Oh, they painted it alright, WITH THE WINDOW OPEN!!!  OMG!!  The window was only partially painted as a result, no insulation was even put there, even though the insulation I bought disappeared off the planet.  When the new workers came THE WINDOW WAS STILL OPEN, and it had rained several days into the sealed up wall!!!  Is that anything but vandalism?  And then there is the sheet rock job, only screwed in occassionally, resulting in the sheet rock bowing out giving a wavy effect on the painted walls!!  Of course, all my 20 pounds of screws were missing from the job.
HEAR ME, PEOPLE, THIS MAN IS NOT ONLY A POOR EXCUSE FOR A HANDIMAN, BUT HE IS A LIAR AND A THIEF.  HE'S A SCAM ARTIST!!  I've only included some examples of the massive mess he left behind.  Oh, he talks a good spin, telling you all the favors he's doing for you, but DO NOT TRUST HIS WORK OR HIS WORD OR HIS STICKY HANDS!!!  HE'S SCUM OF THE EARTH.  The only way he could have gotten all the good reviews is by creating them himself.  DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!!

We had some drywall repair work that needed to be done before we could paint so I thought I'd take advantage of their "coupon" to see if their service was worthy of further work.  Needless to say, it wasn't.  I was impressed that once I called, they were able to get me scheduled in very quickly.  The 2 man crew showed up on time and I showed them the work I needed done.  This is where the service failed.  The lead contractor's cell phone rang constantly.  Apparently there was some confusion from the home office about the services I had purchased and when I provided the details, the lead contractor explained that since I had purchased 8 man hours and they sent out a team of two, that they wouldn't be working all day.  Fine, completely understand.  I guess the big rub came when they showed up without any of what I would consider basic consumables for a project like this.  I would have been more than happy to purchase these materials before hand had they let me know this.  Or I would have paid them for what they used provided they didn't try to game the system by seriously over charging for such basic materials.  Needless to say, there was a trip for "supplies" involved and as I live quite a ways outside of Tulsa city limits, there was considerable delay.  The lead contractor did tell me they would work extra to make up for this delay.  Which they did, somewhat.  The biggest thing that blew this wide open for me was the fact that I had to pay for gas for their truck.  And they were perfectly at ease over this.  So despite the fact that the work was acceptable, I will find another company to come in and finish up and then paint.

    Affordable Paint & Drywall
The job went flawlessly.  These guys were professional, polite, punctual and extremely competent.  They bid the job, started on the date they said they'd be here and got right down to business.  Conditions were tough for them.  We live in the country with little protection from the elements and they had to deal with lots of wind (especially when up on the 3rd level) and extremely hot weather...100+ degree days.  They also had to deal with 3 extremely curious dogs.  At one point, when they had just finished painting the garage, one of the dogs, who happened to be soaking wet, came into the garage and walked along side one whole wall of the freshly painted garage.  They immediately fixed the damage...oh, and yes,  the dog is still alive and well!
The experience was well worth the $$.  The house looks great.  It was not an easy job, but they sure made it look easy.
I plan to have them back to do interior sheet rock repair and painting.

Ok I was skeptical about hiring an individual to come out and do my sheet rock repairs. So I got on Angies List and decided to give it a shot. David came out and gave me an estimate, showed up exactly on time when he said he would be there. Gave me a great price on getting the work done. So we agreed on a start date and he showed up exactly when he said he would and he began to work. Ok so I had previously hired a contractor (not from Angies List) and he basically butchered my sheet rock. So David had to fix to rooms and they were both major tasks. I have 20 ft ceilings in one room and he had to re-sheet rock the ceiling and the wall. He brought out his own scaffolding (no extra charge to me) and he also had to repair the guest bathroom that had ceiling and wall damage. He was able to do this and make the walls look like they are brand new. You cant even tell any work was done, it is smooth and everything matches up perfect. He is a very fast worker and he definitely knows sheet rock! He did such an excellent job I am hiring him to do some minor work in 2 other rooms! This is the best sheet rock contractor that I have every worked with.

The job itself is good quality. We did have several problems with the contractor himself. We had problems with him being dishonest with us. He tried to charge us for $1400 of services that were not performed. We had to remind him of the fact that he got smaller windows than what was presented on the contract. He did get the proper windows, but we were surprised that he had missed that. The job also took 2 weeks longer than it should have. He left a lot of sawdust in the yard and nails strewn about in the yard as well.
