FLyle's men came in and ripped out the floor and cabinets for a 5 day-project, fixing the damages. 1. The cabinet man (Lyle's choice) did not want to do what he had bid on, citing the fact that "he didn't do countertops", (even though he had bid the job.) So, he went on his way. I have had no kitchen for 6 WEEKS! 2.They joined the new wood to the old particle board in a major traffic area in mid-air. There was no support under either side of the joint, they had to re-do that(at my insistence.) 3. When they redid it, the floor made a horrible noise when stepped on because of a lack of screws. (The tile people (not associated with Lyle) fixed it!) 4.They were to waterproof the whole floor and they only did 2 feet out from the wall, I had to make them redo that. 5.Where they did waterproof the floor they slopped the white mixture on the baseboards and left it there! Now I'm having to deal with paint on the wooden baseboards! 6.They burned the old cabinets WITH MY KNOBS STILL ON THEM, causing me to have to buy new door knobs for the new cabinets. 7.Somehow, when they replaced the floor around it, they turned the spigot for the water connection for the icemaker to the wall, so it has to be replaced before I can hook up my new fridge. 8.They couldn't figure out how to hook up a new vent-a-hood. They were totally stumped on trying to replace the old one. I had to get someone else do it. 9. They were to install a new sink in the new cabinet. Lyle refused to do it until the (new, hired by me) cabinet man cut the HOLE first. (Now, how do you install a kitchen sink without cutting a hole in the counter?) 10.They charged me FOUR TIMES the going rate for this work!- Vera H.
