    ULTIMATE CABINETS
    First, let me say that I personally find Jeff to be very pleasant to talk to and he gave us a couple of good suggestions for the pantry that I didn't think of, but that's pretty much where it stops.  This was suppose to be a 2-3 week job.  Our bathrooms are small, the job only entailed two vanities, two over the toilet cabinets and the trim and doors of the linen closets.  Let's start with the fact that he scheduled 3 installs that were no call ~ no show.  I called and he wouldn't answer his phone or return our calls.  So we cancelled other plans 3 times to be left sitting and waiting.  After the 3rd time, we went down to his shop and wanted to know why ~ could not get an answer out of him.  Out of frustration, I ask if our cabinets were even made and he said, "yes, they're being painted at our paint shop".  It was like I was hit with a 2 x 4 and I said, let me get this straight, you've scheduled us for numerous installs and the cabinets aren't even painted!  So, he scheduled another install and his installer showed up.  OMG, what a nightmare.  The vents were against the floor tiles ~ how am I suppose to get them out ~ he said, use a crowbar.  No, this needs to be in the center of the kickplate.  There was a big space between the wall and the cabinet over the toilet ~ perfect for spiders and whatever.  That needed to be closed.  The hall closet bar totally missed covering the shelf.  The installer said that Jeff measured wrong and Jeff said the installer put the frame in upside down, but he remade it.  I'm pretty sure he transposed the top measurement and bottom measurement with the second frame.  The other linen closet was another problem.  There was a huge space between the closet and the frame.  Finally filled it in with trim.  The vanities didn't fit the footprint of the tile, they were too deep and too short in length...had to get him to redo several things just on the vanities.  There was at least a dozen problems with each bathroom.  The last thing was when he installed the handles.  The first drawer we opened, the handle fell off and the first door we opened was cracked where he attached the handle so tight it cracked.  I am so thankful we decided to start with the bathrooms to see his workmanship before we started on the kitchen and pantry.  Our 2 - 3 week job ended up being 2 months.  But it's the workmanship, communication (or lack there of) and stress that I could never recommend him.

    BETTER PIANO TUNING & REPAIRING
    A friend recommended Steve and told me he charges $90 to tune her piano. When Steve arrived he checked my piano, then came into my office and told me that the tuning would be $90 but it also needed to be "raised to pitch" which is an additional $80. It had been about a year and a half since I last had the piano tuned. Pianos go flat and all have to be "raised to pitch" in tuning so I don't know what his criteria is for making that determination but no other tuner has ever told me that, even when it has been MANY YEARS between tunings.
     If I had been purchasing something in a store and they told me it was going to be DOUBLE THE PRICE, I would have walked away. He was here and I needed the piano tuned before a rehearsal next week so I had him proceed. I will definitely never use him again.

    MUSTARD SEED UPHOLSTERY
    I went to Mustard Seed upholstery because it was within 2 miles of my home. I also was intrigued by the only other review currently posted about this company. The review was over-the-top horrible. I figured it couldn't be that bad so I visited the shop.

    I found owner Randy Johnson to be very friendly. The shop is somewhat cluttered but I could tell whoever worked there knew what they were doing. The work in progress looked very professional.

    I spent about 30 minutes visiting with Randy explaining what I wanted and listening to his side of the story related to the bad review. I decided to take my chances. He quoted me a price of $200 with a $100 deposit required. I told him I was in no hurry and asked him to call me when he completed the job. To be honest, I had several projects going on in my house and I forgot about the cushion...for almost three months!

    During that time, Randy didn't call (which would have reminded me of the cushion). Looking back, I think he should have / could have called, letting me know he was running behind or something. But honestly, it really didn't make that much of a difference to me. Still, I feel like that bit of unprofessionalism keeps me from giving him an "A".

    I went by his shop toward the end of March and found it closed during what I would consider "regular business hours." I called his cell phone and he informed me was indeed working on my cushion and apologized for the delay. He stated the cushion would be ready "next week." When I dropped by the following week, the cushion wasn't finished, but Randy promised he would have it completed "tomorrow."

    I returned the next day and--as promised--the cushion was ready. Randy did a fantastic job! I'm assuming that my order was a small order compared to others in his shop and it just slipped through the cracks. He apologized again taking so long.

    The workmanship was very good; the cushion looked like something I would have purchased at Pier 1 or similar store. I am VERY pleased with my purchase.

    My advice would be to NOT tell Randy "I'm in no hurry." Other than that, I would use him again if I had a similar project. If you use him, be sure to let him know you have a deadline--if that's the case.

    MUSTARD SEED UPHOLSTERY
    BE ADVISED, DO NOT USE THIS GUY!  He took my "deposit" of 700.00 in January and I had to take him to small claims court to get my couch finished and back on April 13, 2012.  He is deceptive, and unethical.  He waited until my husband was out of town, then harrassed me (with my children) by calling 18 times in one day, after he knew I was filing a claim.  I had to get the sheriffs involved when he showed up at my house at 8PM.  Then when I wouldn't answer the door on the advice of the sheriffs office, he then continued to call and circle my house, pulling in and out of my driveway until they arrived.  SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE!  HE IS WHY I JOINED ANGIE'S LIST!!!!!

    The scheduling employee for the installation had already gone for the day, but as promised she called me early the next day and was able to schedule the installation on my required date. The installer arrived as scheduled and removed the old appliance and installed the new. Cleaned up his mess and hauled off the old applicance. A very professional exchange. I will use them again.

    We are VERY pleased with Metro Tulsa. Our sales person, and in fact, everyone we came into contact with, was extremely professional and customer-oriented. The selection is HUGE, and they can special order if you want a model they don't have in stock. Prices seems to be a bit below MSRP. Showroom is amazing - I never knew there were so many different dishwashers! When our dishwasher was delivered, they hauled away the old one, and took away the packing materials. Very quick and efficient - and the delivery was prompt (next day) and the driver called first to tell us he was on his way. It's so nice to experience good old-fashioned customer service again!

Although the showroom isn't the biggest you will ever see, they have a good selection, and we were able to find exactly what we wanted on the spot. Delivery was the same day, and they set up the new furniture, hauled off the old, and took away all of the plastic.
