  • I can't brag on Scott enough. He came to the house to give us an estimate and told us it would be a few weeks out before he could get to us. He called periodically to update us on his schedule. When the week came for him to come out, my husband and I had an emergency that took us away from the house for a week. We notified Scott and he said he would contact us the following week. And he did. On the first day, I was still a little up in the air about what colors I wanted to use. Scott helped me with the selection and I was very pleased with how it turned out. He showed up everyday (even came on a Saturday) and cleaned up when he left each day. I'm usually a hoverer but I totally trusted Scott. I could tell he was conscientious about his work and I didn't feel the need to 'watch over' it. He's also a very nice guy. He would be the first person I would call for any other work I might need done.

  • Robert is a nice, personable young man, but…. took my money and ran. He over promised, overpriced, under performed, and in my opinion, his work reflects woeful incompetence. Late, late, late. Excuse, excuse, excuse. Tile work was shoddy, grout lines uneven, used chipped tiles. Pictures available below. "Fortunately," he used incorrect adhesive for the tile. Because it had not set or cured even after four days, we were able to pull the tile off without tools, clean them, and salvaged most of the tile. When he did show up, worked 2-4 hours a day; would go out for “materials” and not return. Finally abandoned the jobsite completely on September 7, leaving some tools behind. Have not heard a word from him since then. He intended to cover up a small mold-covered 2x4 with sheetrock until we demanded it be removed and replaced. Left demolition debris in front yard, did not remove. Homeowner had to haul it off at additional expense. Brought girlfriend to work site to “observe” but was major distraction. Thought this was very unprofessional. Could not discern a logical work plan. Installed new light fixtures and partial flooring before painting and sheetrock was completed, resulting in paint smears on floor and fixtures. Cut flooring too short, did not remove trim, much less extend flooring under sheetrock wall to sill plate. I had high hopes, but now must determine how to recoup my losses.

  • The work went great.  Craig and all of the crew members were very nice and professional.   Craig is great at seeing the big picture and giving pointers and suggestions on how to tie everything together.
If we ever need any work done to the house in the future there is no doubt we will hire Green Phoenix to get it done.

    1. They always did what they said and showed up when promised.  Brian and Brian got on with the work, were quiet, worked as cleanly as possible and cleaned up when they were done.  Overall very pleased with them will definitely use again for future projects.

  • We hired C&A in mid-August 2014 to redo our master bathroom and closets, install wood floors, rebuild the steps from the 1st to 2nd floor and install new gutters.

We had many of the same problems that the last couple of posters had.  Lack of communications, a general contractor that never seem to supervisor the people doing the work, work having to be redone because of quality issues, work being done incorrectly, and workers that never showed up or would show up for and hour or two and leave.  There were times when no work was done for weeks.

These projects should have taken 5 or 6 weeks, but took 6 months.  The installation of the new gutters was never done and we canceled having them complete them in lieu of finding someone else to complete this work.  We have other projects to be completed, such as a kitchen remodel, but we will be finding another contractor for that work.

    Examples of issues would be:

The shower stall pan was installed, but the red line sealer was not being used.  This resulted in the shower floor tile having to be ripped out and reinstalled.  There was a 12 inch bench that was suppose to be installed in the shower, but and 8 inch bench was installed, that had to be redone as twelve inches.  The bench was installed and retained water and had to be redone so water would drain off of the bench.  There was a glass wall at one end of the shower that was installed, but had to be replaced because there was a chip along the edge.

The wood floors were installed (glued) with gaps between them in several places.  These had to be removed and reinstalled.  There were also several dings in the wood floor that had to be patched with wood putty and stained.  They also cut boards in the house which resulted in dust getting into everything.  They made no attempt to minimize dust by sealing the room where the cutting was being done.  During the floor installation a hole was punched through the bedroom wall into the hallway.  They did patch the hole, but the hallway now needs to be painted because we have a big white patch on a light brown wall.

These are a few of the problems that we had.  I could go on with more, but hopefully you get the idea.

The cost of having them complete the work was pretty comparable.  I had the gutters and the floors quoted by others, but opted to have them complete all of the work.  This was obviously and error.  The 6 months that it took to complete the work makes the price charged seem to be excessive.

  • Joe and team at Homeguard did a great job to my satisfaction. Even though rain delayed exterior painting several days, Joe communicated regularly keeping me up to date on the schedule. All teams paid close attention to detail and cleaned up after themselves very well. I will use Homeguard frequently on remodeling projects starting this fall.

  • Great, professional company. I would have selected Splash of Paint for the work, if they could have addressed some woodworking/carpentry needs with the painting. They let me know they didn't specialize on the woodwork so I used a general contractor. This company was very professional and knew exactly what was needed and I have no doubt they would have done an excellent job.

  • Service provider was very punctual and responsive to my questions.  The service was very efficient and complete.  All furniture was covered with plastic to protect the floors, etc from paint splatter.  No issues at all with this service provider.

  • I could not be happier with the outcome.  They provided a schedule at the start of the project which was followed very well.  The workers arrived on time, worked all day and cleaned up when they finished for the day.  Angel and his crew were very easy to work with, making recommendations when necessary or adjusting to situations as they arose.  The whole process was much less stressful than we had expected.  The final cost was thousands less than other quotes we had been given and the quality of the work could not be better.
