Overall he was a pretty good doctor however when I asked questions he didn't seem to know or just didn't explain himself very well at all. I asked for lab results and got very little feedback.
On a previous appointment I discussed a problem I had with my pacemaker/defibrillator and he just said I had an appointment and that they would check for any problems (the appointment was over 2 weeks away and he didn't seem concerned).  I followed up with him when they say that it was all in my mind so he didn't do anything.  I was upset because I knew I had felt something and was treated like I hadn't.
He was supposed to be monitoring my INR (thickness of my blood) and my primary at the time said that the cardiologist was supposed to  while I was being monitored at my primary's office and my primary was the one making decisions on changing the dosage.  My primary finally said the cardiologist was supposed to be monitoring it.
If you just need a doctor to monitor you, do your tests then Dr  Velury is a good doctor but I have constant problems and want answers and I didn't get that.

Overall my experience with Dr. Velury as my cardiac physician is excellent. I usually arrive early, and have waited up to 30 minutes to be called to an exam room, however, my usual wait is around 20 minutes even when I am early. The waiting room has two TV's one on each side of this extra large room. TV's may sound trivial, but having a TV is a nice amenity to keep me from being bored while I wait. Once his nurse calls my name, we walk to this "industrial type" of weight scale. ( I don't know the precise name of this type). This scale has never failed to show my accurate weight, which I like. That has not been the case with many doctor's office scales, that is why I mention this. Once in the exam room, his nurse takes my vitals. His nurses are kind and courteous and carry on a pleasant conversation with me. Within the last year or so, another nurse was hired and she is an extraordinarily kind and patient person. I am treated with respect by Dr. Velury and his nurse each visit. There are other cardiologists in this building, therefore this is a busy office, but even so, I feel as if I am an important patient to Dr. Velury and his nurse. Sadly, my first and last impression of this office is negative due to the office receptionists who are usually distracted. They are having conversations with each other, or on a personal call, or eating snacks and talking about their snacks to each other. Their distracting behavior sometimes causes a wait line. I have never encountered this behavior before in a physicians office. Over all, I absolutely plan on continuing to see Dr. Velury for my cardiac needs.

Overall my appointment with Dr. Ofori was excellent. I was early for my appointment, as I usually am, and I was see earlier than my scheduled appointment. My usual wait time is less than 20 minutes. The office is located in a medical building connected to one of our hospitals. His office is excellently furnished and has a TV, and up to date magazines. These things may seem trivial, but to me, as well as many others, these amenities are nice. On his office staff he has a nurse/receptionist who always, always, asks me about my Bariatric surgery (which I had with another surgeon). This is nice for me to know that she remembers me and one of my issues with my health. She encourages me each time. Once, I 'm in the exam room, it does take about 10-20 minutes for Dr. Ofori to enter. There are magazines that I enjoy keeping myself entertained while I wait. Dr. Ofori has a great bedside manner. I have been a patient of Dr. Ofori's for a couple of years, or more, I believe. I see him every month or two.

Dr. Spinzig takes the time with me to listen to what I have to say. The staff is very friendly and very professional. I chose him mainly because he is an internist. The only problem is that if I needed him on a weekend, there is no way to get a hold of him; there is no answering service or anything like that. His office environment is excellent. I have a follow up appointment next month with him.

He was very prompt. After he sent me home with prescriptions, he called and talked to me about my condition and if the inhaler and medicine he gave me was working. I just thought that it was very nice that he called himself and didn't have a nurse call.

If you are a new patient go to your appointment more than 30 minutes to fill out paperwork so you are on time for your appointment.
I was very pleased with all the staff from the front desk, nurse, Dr. Velury, and the lady who checks you out. Very good experience.

My husband was a patient of Dr. Ivan's. Dr. Was not very thorough, but did address his health issue. The office staff was not very organized and they did not return phone calls. We sat in treatment room for over an hour past my husbands appt and no one came in and told us dr was running late. We had to leave to pick up our child from school and told them we had to go and staff marked as a no show for appt and then scheduled a new appt without notifying us. Office did not contact us with test results. When we called and stopped by to sign an authorization to get records so that we could see a different dr it took over a week to get them. We called twice and stopped by office several times trying to get them.

He checked me out by doing tests and a biopsy and found that I needed the operation and got it done fairly quickly with no complications. His staff were always very nice and he made me feel comfortable.

I met this Dr and he is knowledgable, very personable, he is interested and he listens. He explains things very well, I know several people that got o him and  its conveniently located. I have insurance so I don't get a bill so I don't know what the billing is like.

I AM NOW PERMANENTLY DISABLED as a direct result of my surgery.

I had protruding discs in the lower part of my back (L3-L5) and after consulting with my personal physician & others who had used Dr. Ofori, I decided to schedule my surgery with him.  He was very difficult to understand and he didn't even know which way my xrays went and after my surgery which took much longer than expected, he told my family that he had done a fusion on me, which of course he did not.  After the surgery, when I took my first walk down the hall, I noticed that I had little control over my left foot.  Long story short, after consulting 2 other neurosurgeons, they both discovered that my main nerve going to my left leg was cut & severed, which is not fixable!  I have PERMANENT FOOT DROP!  I have to wear a heavy plastic, custom-made brace ($1700) and had to have a Dorsal Spine Stimulator Implant put in ($1500 not incl. surgeon & surgery costs) to help manage the pain & will be in muscle relaxers and pain killers for the rest of my life.  I was 45 yrs. old at the time.  It also took Dr. Ofori over 1 yr. to decide that there was a problem so now I have bursitis in my hips, knees, and ankles that I never would have had but because I was having to compensate for the foot drop, I was continuously walking awkwardly, putting much pressure on those joints.  I also discovered that there are many others with the same or similar stories about this man as a back surgeon.
