  • Initial comparison bid used current $1000 deductible with proposed $2500 deductible. Of course AAA was cheaper - any other insurance company would also be cheaper. Not a valid comparison. House insurance came with only a booklet of coverage that was published over 10 years previously. Requested a more complete and updated information, but that never came. I asked the agent also for more information about the ID theft program and was told to contact the website. Agent also didn't allow any discounts for defensive driving, anti theft devices or pleasure only use. Cancelling the policy produced a snippy wife stating they were only doing what the company allowed them to do. I recommend that you find a better agent if you like AAA or keep shopping around to find a better insurance company with a competent agent that will provide you with service and information. What good is an agent that barely acknowledged you when you appear at the office? Unfortunately, Grove only has one AAA agent in one office.

  • Had an awesome time. Rusty was a great guy to talk to, very friendly. His wife Lindsay was on the boat helping the whole time doing everything from driving to pulling fish off arrows and helping my wife get acclimated to shooting a bow. The bow fishing was a little tough due to it being the weekend of the 4th of July (all those boats had the water pretty murky), but Rusty still put us on some solid shots, and my wife got a gar almost as tall as she is (granted she's only 4'1", but still). I'm already trying to figure out when I can charter a spoonbill trip, and super pumped to go bowfishing again. Thank you Rusty and Lindsay for getting my wife hooked too. I think she might be buying her own bow now. ;)

  • In the original bid the contractor promised to replace the upper swivel pin of the dock walkway with a grade 8 (hard steel) bolt at least 1" in diameter.  The existing pin was smaller, of softer steel, and assumed to be worn.  The threads of the bolt would allow adjustment of a grade 8 nut so the walkway is firmly attached to shore, but free to move laterally.  The work as described by the contractor entailed building a structure to lift the walkway while the work was being done. The old pin would be removed.  A hole would be cut in the steel frame of the walkway. The grade 8 bold would be inserted in the hole and welded in place by filet welds on the top and bottom of the walkway frame.  The hole for the bolt on the shore-side frame would be increased to approximately 1" to accommodate the bolt.  When the walkway was set in place, a nut and washer would hold the walkway in place.  The nut could be adjusted to minimize dock movement.
    The contractor said this is the same work he did for my neighbor.  My mistake was not looking at the neighbors dock because no work as described above was done for the neighbor.
    The contractor's bid was $1200 for the work described above.  The work actually done was weld in a washer to take out the gap that allows the existing pin to move excessively with wave action on the dock.  No structure was built to lift the walkway for the work.  The actual work was approximately three men three hours to accomplish.
    The contractor said I should have noticed the change in the scope of work and brought to his attention before the work was done.  This was impossible since I was not present when the work was done and I had no supervisory authority over his people in his absence.
    The contractor said the work was a lump sum bid and I had to pay the bid price of $1200.  I paid in fear of some sort of retribution such as a property lien, if I did not.

  • We had problems with them on previous sign work. The actual cost of the signs that we purchased ended up being about three times what the quote was. However, we did try to give them another change. It is unfortunate that they are the only game in town when it comes to sign work. We made multiple attempts to contact the company for our the our recent needs. They never returned our calls. We even had to have another person contact them that does business with them before they even called us back. The Logo for this last signage was incorrect. They didn't verify that the sign was properly lighted. Another problem developed when they indicated that they had made multiple contact for payment. This was not the case. They called a business associate about our invoice. I find this to be highly unprofessional and is almost approaching slander. I find the owners to be difficult to work with in a professional manner. We will go far a field to find a sign company before I would even consider using Universal again.

  • We had visited with them at the Boat Show in Grove, OK and liked what we saw.  We visited them at their marina and they were friendly, knowledgeable and more than willing to work with us---very accommodating.  After the first visit, we knew we wanted to do business only with them.  We are more than pleased our choice.  They make it easy for you to find and purchase your boat.  We know we will want to continue with them to take care of our boat.

  • Electric by Miller professionally and quickly provided a detailed estimate (which came in as best price among 3 estimates recieved) for the following work performed: Trenched and backfilled ditch, eliminating existing underground dock electrical service. Pulled new wire in conduit from garage to dock walkway and throughout renovated boat dock. Installed new 8-circuit disconnect/breaker panel (with required signage). Installed GFCI recepticle with weather proof panel at pole light. Installed 3 vapor lights fixtures (one with motion sensor), light switch and 4 GFCI receptacles w/ in-use covers. They provided all required paperwork/plans to the GRDA (approving authority for all things dock related), to include inspections which eliminated all administrative burden on me.

    Only days prior to work biginning, I requested a change order for extending the dock service lines around future site of a pool and outdoor kitchen/bar and to lay in and stub up additional 220 and 110V services at this projected location. They accomodated this 11th hour request and quickly turned a reasonable (cost) change order to the original estimate and began work shortly after this request.

    Upon job completion, they went the extra mile(s) in retrieving operating manuals from their purchase source, scanning and e-mailing me the operating manuals for the light and motion detection systems so I had details on max bulb sizes, optimal settings, etc.--very helpful!

    The proprietor (Kathy Miller) personnally inspected the completed job and determined that the light fixture/motion sensor combination was not as good as it should be (safety wise) for lighting the walkway approach to the dock (at night). She ordered a change to a flood light from the vapor light the company's expense.

    I'm VERY impressed and pleased with the work done, competitive pricing and overall customer service and care!

    Electric by Miller is my Electrical Contractor of choice...and in this area they should be yours too!
