A Best Air & Heat Inc
Company was a no show for two appointments with me. They did call after scheduled time window for first appointment expired and apologized for not showing up. On next days appointment they did not show up and did not call. I took off work on two separate mornings. I can't afford to hire a company to do work at my house if there not dependable enough to show up or at least give a courtesy call.

    HARRIS AIR CONDITIONING
Replaced motor ok but 3 days later the fan broke. Even though the fan was removed when the motor was replaced they charged for another service charge. They also stepped on my flowers even though there was plenty of room.480.00

I have their yearly comfort plan.  They come out twice a year to service my AC/Heater.  Tech is very knowledgeable and professional.  Always calls to inform when the Tech is on the way so that I don't have to take the whole day off waiting on someone to show.  I recommend them to all my friends!!

    HARRIS AIR CONDITIONING
The day after New Year's and I had called four other Heat and Air Businesses. They were all closed for the Holiday.
So I decided to sign up for Angie's list to see if I could find a Servicetech. I called the first Business with an A rating on the list. My call was immediately answered. The Servicetech said he could come out early afternoon. He arrived about 12:45, repaired the heater and was gone by 1:05. I was very happy and will used this company again.

One day delay after they made service appointment. They called on appointment day (about 4 PM)  and offered to come late but really wanted to switch to new date and we accepted rescheduling. We rescheduled for next day and they did come that afternoon. Technican did a very quick check and lit and tested the unit. He also answered all the questions we had about unit and ID'ed the manufacture which we couldn't find. Unit was only 7 years old and used very little per the inspection. Not much to clean or repair. Done in less than an hour.

He did an excellent job.  He had to splice into the line outside the house and drill through the brick wall, which is what I requested.  With my Angie's deal, it was only $150 including $50 parts for 2 hours of labor with no additional fees.

The service went great. One technician came out and completed the job in about an hour. He was very professional and got right to work. He did not waste any time. He was proficient, identified the issue and corrected it quickly. They made scheduling the deal very easy.

Everything turned out well, and I've been happy with the service.  The gentleman was very communicative, he cleaned up after himself, and he worked to get the job completed before the weekend which I appreciated.  I can't grade the quality of the work, however, since I haven't been able to test the system.

    AMP Mechanical HVAC
It started out good. Quick call by office to set up appointment. Tech called an hr ahead to inform me he was on his way and he arrived on time. I had requested service on my ductwork which is covered by my home warranty. My home is always cold and I can't get it above 45 degrees. He did a cursory check of the furnance inside and said it had flame and the blower seemed to be working but no heat was coming out of the ductwork. We walked outside and he asked me to remove one of the skirting panels on my mobile home and he bent down and said oh I see the problem. One of the lines that run from the heater had come loose and basically all it was doing was heating the underneath of the home. He said from that location it would be tight but since he didn't have any supplies with him he could come back the next day with a smaller guy and fix. I said do you want to check any of the other locations to see if there would be any place else loose and he said no that they would take care of anything they found the next day. He recommended that even though temps would be in the teens to just turn the heater completely off. This was at 1115. He never looked anywhere else to see if there would be an easier access rather that the one location that is where the water line comes into the home. I received a call from the Warranty company at 4pm to say that my work could not be accomplished because there is only 2" of clearance so the claim would be denied because I couldn't provide access. The cost of the repairs would be $130 though. I did not understand what they were talking about the lowest clearance was at the end where we looked in and it has 3 foot of clearance but you can access anywhere on the front it runs from 3 ft - 5 ft of clearance. I contacted AMP Mechanical for a better understanding and they said that they could not do the work because mobile homes are dangerous and could collapse on their workers. I ended up calling another company and paying out of pocket but they came right out and had it repaired in less than 30 minutes. I did manage to force AMPS to come back out since I had already paid for them to check the rest of the system. Even though the Tech was supposed to use a camera to ensure that there were no holes in the ductwork all he did was open and close some of the vents (Called balancing) and left. I will never allow them back in my home again.
