Drain Cleaning reviews in Choctaw

  • I called Hi Tech plumbing because my kitchen drain backed up and would not drain. I am a DIY kinda guy, so I worked on the drain for about six hours trying to do everything I could think of to unclog it! But, I did not have any luck. So, I decided I would call in the professionals. I looked in Angie’s list and found Hi Tech Plumbing. Hi Tech had great reviews, so I decided to give them a try. I called on a Tuesday morning. They didn’t have any openings on that day but could get me scheduled for the following day, Wednesday after noon. The tech, Jeff, contacted me a little afternoon to let me know he was on the way. When he arrived, I explained the situation and he was 90% sure it was a deep clog in the pipes. Jeff went to work and before we knew it the drain was clog free! I just wanted to leave this review to thank Jeff for being very professional and personable! I will definable recommend Hi-Tech to anyone who asks about hiring a plumber!

  • We called our home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS), to whom we pay over $600 annually, for repair of a washing machine plumbing issue.  The vendor they sent out was lazy and refused to take conservative steps to resolve our problem, instead quoting an outrageous $1,700 bid to replace the plumbing to our washing machine. AHS refused to cover the repair-- no surprise there-- you pay this company not only an annual fee, but you also pay $75.00 per service call to your property.  They do not cover anything.  You might as well through your money down the drain.  When I called AHS back to ask for a second opinion because the plumber did nothing to fix our problem (i.e. running a snake down our line to clear the blockage), the company claimed there are no other plumbing companies to offer a second opinion... the other company is full and not taking new calls... Well, as far as I'm concerned, this is not my problem.  AHS should not have a shortage of vendors when I'm paying them this kind of money.  Plumbers are everywhere.  We have now been without use of our washing machine for a week and I am hauling loads of laundry to the laundromat.  Not happy.  At all.  Additionally, the service associates at the call center for AHS are rude and apathetic.  They could care less about providing very basic customer service.  They transfer you from place to place, and nothing gets resolved.  Hold times are ridiculous.  I held over 15 minutes today just to get someone on the phone.  This company deserves worse than an F in my book.

  • The same night around 8 oclock the entire house was once again backed up. I went outside and dug down to the tank and opened it up, needless to say no water was flowing into the tank. I ran a home auger up the pipe from the tank side and it only went about 16" before it was stopped.  Going off the comment "I think you have a busted pipe" I began to dig up the pipe towards the house, at around 16" I found very wet soil and a pool of water and a shredded drain pipe. The next moring(Sunday the 22nd)  I called Mr Rooter and explained the situation and was told I have to wait until Monday before they could schedule a different crew to come out and fix the issue. Needless to say we couldnt wait so I decided to fix it myself. I dug up the rest of the pipe and cut out the broken section. Upon inspection I found the blockage to be a wet dead squirrel (ya I know its funny). It was very obvious that the auger had broken/shredded the pipe and had began to consume the dead rodent (just leave it at that). The auger had essentianally reamed out a cavity in the dirt around the pipe and based on the saturationof the soil it was obvious thats where the water had drained into
I once again called Mr Rooter and explained that they had not cleared the original blockage and that they had broken the pipe. I requested my money back as they had not fixed the problem. I was told I'd have to talk to owner on Monday.
Monday morning the owner called me. I explained the situation, we laughed about the squirrel and when I requested my money back as they had not fixed the problem and he said "nope sorry I cant do that" . He stated he couldnt afford to give money back everytime something like this happened as he had wages to pay, trucks to run and fuel cost at 3.50 a gallon. I said I'd meet him half way and and we could split the difference. Again he said "No". He said "we can see into the ground how'd we know there was a squirrel in there and that the pipe probably would have to had been replaced anyway". I rebutted saying I understand that he had expenses and that's why I was willing to meet him halfway, again he said "no".
I've used the guys in the past and always found them to be reasonable - but based on this incident I will not use them again. I was willing compromise on cost/refund based on the unsual circumstances and they were not. The facts are this:  my drain was plugged, they did not fully resolve the situation. I would not have expected them to absorb the cost of replcaing the pipe or the labor involved and would have been willing to hire them to do the work if they would have been available. Instead I had to resolve the situation myself by clearing the blockage and fixing the pipe they shredded.

  • They were able to unclog my drain where other plumber failed. I was quoted 2100$ fix from an independent plumber to dig up my main and replace a flange on the toilet. Mr. Rooter people took their time, cleared my drain and fixed my toilet for 183$. Thanks Mr. Rooter

  • Tim and Charles were professional and fair. They ran a camera down my main to the city main to show me where the blockage was occurring and even refunded the service fee after not being able to unstop the drain.

  • Kelly's did the plumbing in my entire house in 2000, did everything as cheap as possible. Have been having a smell out of my since for years now and found this last weekend that they didn't put the loop correctly from diswasher to drain. Always wondered why there was always water in my dishwasher. The hose was too short to put a loop, guess they skimped on that as well. I bought a nice long hose, no more smell and no more water in dishwasher. On the install, they also piped the water pressure tank incorrectly and put in the attic, the first winter it froze and leaked into garage. Everything they did was cheap and poor. I got a quote for pool plumbing in 2005, they quoted like $800. They did the job and charged $2700. I complained, they said, oops, should actually be like 15% more as they didn't add profit. DON'T USE THEM. My builder is mainly to blame but seems every year or so, I have to go fix something they did way back when.
