Home Warranty reviews in Bixby

  • I have a home warranty and I have to use the people that the home warranty says I have to use. It was an A/C call and it was handled very quickly by the people who came out. I was very satisfied. On overall, on that particular thing it was an A. On price, it was fine.

  • They have a maximum of $500 that they can cover and you are responsible for the rest that it might cost the service.

I feel that they recommend providers so that they could get as much money as they can.  I was not satisfied with the plumbing company that they gave me and I had to get the services of a leak detection company just to resolve the issue I had with the leak.

I have been their customer for 12 or 13 years here in Oklahoma and another 10 years when we lived in Texas.  The worst part about them is that they only want to fix specific things that are wrong, they do what they can to keep things running rather than replacing the item.  I had great service when we were in Texas rather than here in Oklahoma.  They seem to be nice guys but they are dealing with the restrains that American Home puts on them, fix what they can fix and not to fix more than that.

  • Colonial has decided not to fix the dishwasher b/c they claim it
is still under manufacturer?s warranty. The drum alone is under warranty for leaks. Nothing
else....but according to policy line item # 17. Colonial will not cover any
repair, replacement, installation, or modification of any covered system or
appliance arising from a manufacturer?s recall or defect of said covered items,
nor any covered system or appliance while still under any existing
    manufacturer?s, distributor?s, or in-home warranty.
SO BEWARE. This little clause gives them an out to repair absolutely anything
that might have so much as a screw under any type of warranty.
I was told repeatedly that they would send a measly $120 as a courtesy towards
    replacement. Which is a joke. $120 on a $700 dishwasher. $120 won't even buy
the gasket/hose kit on a new bottom of the line dishwasher.
Unfortunately I am tied into them for 3 more years as I purchased a 5 year
    contract.
Please note....and really take is seriously....if you have something, anything
at all, that is supposed to be covered by Colonial and it has any type of
warranty (the kind that are so popular now-a-days - where the manufacturer says
a particular item 'has a lifetime warranty' as a selling tactic on some nut or
bolt that will never break), that so called warranty with exclude your entire
item from coverage by Colonial. For example, if one knob is covered on your
stove - with a replacement or manufacturer warranty....if your stove breaks,
you are screwed. Colonial has an out b/c that one single knob has some sort of
    trivial coverage.
Oh and if you want to talk to corporate about this, or management.....dream on,
you are not given any sort of information or number to call to go further up
the line.....the less than helpful, script reading operator that you speak too
    will patronizingly tell you this.
Run like h*** from this company, as I will do as soon as my good for nothing
    contract comes to an end.

  • The lady on the phone was nice; however, there was absolutely no urgency for my case.  It was 115 degrees out side and my a/c went out and they said the earliest I could be assisted was in 7...yes 7! days.  I was over a barrell.  So I called them every 1.5 hours until I got someone out to my house...in 3 days.  It was horrible and miserable.

The service call was $75...now you might think that is good, but the previous year's fees were on $55.  This year (2011) i got my renewal in and now it is a whopping $100 per service call.  As of today 10/18/2011, I have switched to Colonial Home Warranty.  The policy is 1/2 the price, covers everything AND the service call is 1/3 of the price!!!  You can bet that I will let you know how it goes!
