    Dave's Handyman Service
I am so very happy with Dave's work. Great attitude, nice polite guy. He even talked me through a temporary fix on one of my projects over the phone until he could get to me. I will definitely have him back! So happy to have found someone reliable.

Ryan showed up on time and was very friendly from estimate to completion. This young man wants to do a good job for his customer and he's very good at finding solutions. He's very skilled at dry wall work and interior door installations as well as trim as needed. I would consider hiring him again in the future.

    Dave's Handyman Service
The primary work I needed him to do was to put a deicing coil on the roof. He told me over the phone that this would be no problem and I had some other small projects as well. I had a doctor's appointment so I left him a note, equipment on the porch as well as my phone number. When I got home about 10 minutes after he left, I found a note on the porch saying to call Angie's List to get a refund and that he could not perform the work.

    Carpenter Home Improvement
I contacted Brad and he responded quickly and made an appointment to evaluate the work and quote a price.  He is a very friendly and gregarious person who was easy to talk with and appeared to be knowledgeable about his profession.  We agreed on a price and he began work the next week.
The work was done and completed in a timely and superior manner.  I felt quite confident that he did not take any short cuts in completing the tasks that needed to be done.  He was able to match the outside color of paint exactly even though I didn't have any old cans or record of color numbers.
He works well without supervision and does an honest days work.  The one or two adjustments I requested were completed immediately and cheerfully.
My only complaint, and it is a minor one would be that he is a little lax on keeping receipts for input costs.  He tends to keep those in his head and I'm sure he did so honestly in my case.  But if you are a customer that insists of seeing receipts and documentation for every expense associated with a job, you might be disappointed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Brad for any repair or remodeling job for your house.

Ad Kistler & Son Bathroom Specialist
Very prompt when we had an emergency situation.  They came when they said they would and were careful while working.  Quality of work looks excellent.  All the reviews before this were extremely accurate.

Just one person came out to do the job. It took about three hours. He knew a lot about what he was doing and was very conscientious. If I was going to tell a family or friend about him I would tell them to expect a good job to be done. Overall it was a good job.

    Merit Home Improvements
After heavy damage to our roof as a result of a hailstorm in May 2011, we had to undergo the painstaking process of obtaining quotes from several roofing specialists. During this time, many unsolicited, out-of-town companies with hard-to-believe promises also came to our door to compete for our business. It was apparent that many of these companies could not be trusted especially if a possible warranty situation should arise in the future. However, it was Merit Construction who had won over our trust and confidence from the start. Their personalized service, fair pricing, and professionalism convinced us that they were the right choice for such a sizable and challenging job. They spent a lot of time explaining the details of the job and helped us work through the myriad of shingle and gutter brands, grades, and colors. They also went out of their way to directly communicate with our insurance company which made the entire claim and reimbursement process seamless for us. Because our home is a contemporary design with unusual roof lines and pitches, the job itself was very complex. However, the installation was completed quickly, thoroughly, and with little disruption to our daily routine. Most importantly, the quality of the work far exceeded our expectations. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the service Merit provided and will always recommend them for home improvement needs.

    Dave's Handyman Service
Initially we thought the meeting went great.  Even though Dave was informed that the ceiling that needed repaired (from a roof leak) was plaster, he expressed CERTAINTY that is was drywall. Was a little surprised at how high the estimate was, even with Dave providing the paint.  We had him quote everything we were needing to have done, but told him upfront there may be things removed.  We were in a hurry to get things done as well.  He provided the quote same day (APR 29) & we let him know that we would discuss it & get back to him soon.
The next day (APR 30), we sent an email to find out when he could get started & that we for sure wanted him to do the drywall repair that we showed him the day before.  In addition, clarification was needed on a price for painting the stairwell - if it was just to "patch paint" over the mess the previous tenants left or paint the entire stairwell.
The following day (MAY 01 - 8:40 AM), response was received on when he could start & when he would be finished.  He also clarified that he believed that the stair well could be matched "close enough" and be finished with a quart of paint.
The same day (MAY 01 - 9:56 AM), I let Dave know that we wanted to hire him to do drywall repair, & paint ceilings in 3 rooms & wanted him to give me a price on painting the entire stair well - not just  patching the paint color that was there (because an off white & we do not paint our rentals with light colors - especially a frequently traveled stairwell) & we also mentioned working our arrangements to get him access to the property prior to his start date.  Also, requested a price on what he would charge to pain the stairwell.  It was also asked if since he was supplying the materials (like the paint) it that would remain at the property when he was finished (this is a rental & having extra paint for touch up later is handy).   His estimate to us included cost of materials, so we figured if we were paying for it, it would stay.  We also asked how he handles payments once the job was done... if he billed or we could meet up when finished for payment.
On May 02 - 11:38 AM, Dave sent an email withdrawing his bid for work at our rental property.  Literally 1 minute after getting his email, we responding asking "May I ask why?"... only to get no response.
All is good with with our project however - we found a SUPER GREAT GUY that did the job we hired Dave to do, plus some for WAY LESS & he did an wonderful job & even went above & beyond when a problem came up.  Oh... and the ceiling repair that Dave said was DRYWALL, was in FACT plaster as he was informed by us when we met for the quote.

He arrived on time each day like he said he would each day and work stedliy until the job was done. He took off about an hour each day for lunch. He covered floors leading to the room he was working in. He also covered furniture, etc. that was in the room. At the end he cleaned and vacuumed.

R.J. was quick to give us a quote on some work we were planning to do.
We made sure to inform him that the work would not be started for
several weeks, as we were not yet moved in to the new residence.  When
the time came to further discuss the work, we called R.J., but did not
receive any call back for over a week.    By the time R.J.  e-mailed
that he had not realized he had a message for us and that he could not
begin for 8 to 10 weeks, we had moved on to another contractors,
