James came out to look at a few potential issues with my foundation and provided a number of options for solutions. He took me through, step-by-step as to what could be used and why each aspect of the approach would be valuable...but he also gave me less expensive options as the problem is less severe than I had originally anticipated. He definitely was looking out for me and my best interest and not just trying to make money off of a concerned customer.

Jason hauled 55 buckets (2 1/2 tons) of gravel to level and elevate the dirt floor, then added dimple shield, insulation, and crawl shield to the floor, and crawl shield and insulation to the walls and band joist area. The 28% humidity difference between the crawl space and basement vanished, and the entire house seems dryer and warmer. Jason devoted the time and the effort required to do an excellent job. We are very satisfied with the finished product.

After playing phone tag for a couple weeks, Jerry and Andy, his son who, were both very nice and friendly, came on time to fix the outdoor leaking spigot. A couple days prior to their visit, the plastic tubing to my refrigerator for water and ice had started leaking through my basement ceiling. We turned it off and decided to wait for Laux Plumbing to take a look at it.
They came and changed the washer on the outside spigot (10 min) and then put new copper tubing to the refrigerator (45 min). We turned the water on and the spigot started leaking again. They put a different washer in the spigot outside (10 min) and it seems to have stopped leaking. The invoice was $200. I had already paid $135 for the replacement of the outdoor spigot. They credited that amount and told me to call if the outside spigot started to leak again (work was guaranteed for a time). If that was the case, they would have to cut through drywall in the basement to get to the outside spigot to replace it completely.

I have waited several months to write this review so I could go through the seasons to see how the work I had performed corrected my problem.I live in a cape cod house built in 1952 with an added addition. The old part of the house is on a crawl space the newer addition is on a slab. Over the years the addition has eliminated air flow for the crawl space and the homes being built behind my property has increased water flow to my home moving the earth much  higher against the brick than when it was built. The crawl space is accessible like a cellar and I've notice over the last couple of years a musty.earthy smell during spring months before the air conditioning was turned on.Condensation on duct work and pipes was causing them to rust. The earth was uncovered and always damp with the cinder block showing moisture year round. I called five leading water proofing companies in  the area. The first company had a beginning inflated price of $17,000 to install drains to the interior and exterior of my house including possibly an air dehumidifier. Several other companies in my opinion wanted to mask the problem by encapsulating the crawl space. On company just wanted to install a new sump pump for $5,000. My aunt recommended Aqua Proof they had stabilized her foundation..They suggested work similar to the highly inflated company but their price started at $13,774. They came down to $12,000. The crew arrived on time on the exact date. The job as very labor intensive. They dug around the exterior of my home down to the footer and applied a sealant to the brick followed by the installation of a drainage system to move water immediately away from my home. They redirected the water from my gutters and installed new drainage pipe to the front and rear of my home. They also installed an interior drainage system to carry the water immediately to the sump pump. They did not recommend any type of encapsulation but I asked James Cline if they could cover the earth with plastic to keep the earthy smell down and possibly use the area for storage. This is the best investment I have ever done for the house. We had several very rainy months which would normally saturate the crawl space. The combination of the drainage systems removes water immediately from the house and all areas are bone dry. The sump pump kicks in and removes any ground water that seeps in. Since using the air conditioning there is no condensation on the duct work and pipes are no  longer sweating. I thought the added plastic covering may have been cheaply installed but it is adhered to the wall with a plastic base and makes the area look clean with no odors. The crew had to jack hammer the interior and did everything in their power to control dust. They shut the crawl space door and covered it with plastic to keep the dust down. There will be dust I think its unavoidable but nothing a good house cleaning will not take care of when the job is complete.

B.R.T. sealed my basement against further leaking that we had endured for over 30 years. They also regraded the area in my yard so that rain water accumulation would drain away from the house into the storm drains. We are very pleased with their service and the timeliness involved.

Sunjeet was amazing! I called him and he was in the area and was able to come and give me a bid that very day. Sunjeet was very fast and thorough in looking over the basement. We had a written bid in our hands before he left. We feel that our situation calls for more drastic measures than what Sunjeet was suggesting but we appreciate his promptness, professionalism and input.

    Olshan Foundation Solutions
Took one day to complete.  They workers were respectful and worked diligently to get it installed.  I have had Olshan system for about 9 years, but it has a lifetime warranty.  After having a wet basement for years, after the install no more water.  Back 2011, I discovered water in basement and was shocked.  Called Olshan and they immediately said they would send someone out to figure out what the problem was. Much to my surprise, I did not need them because we discovered it was a drainage pipe within the laundry room floor that had a hole in it.  Called Olshan back and told them that my water was NOT due to their system.  I would and have recommended Olshan to all my friends and family.  They are awesome.

    Basement Restoration Technologies
After several instances of rainwater running into our basement laundry room, we selected three companies to come out and give us some estimates. While all 3 companies suggested similar remedies and provided similar cost estimates, we chose Basement Restoration Technologies because we felt they were the most thorough in their evaluation of the problem. They also were the only company to point out that one of our walls had moved approximately half an inch. They suggested not covering the crack in that wall so that we could continue to monitor it in case of additional movement. There has not been any more movement and it likely occurred before we installed a French Drain in that area a couple of years ago. We will definitely contact BRT if we notice any more movement. The other companies did not point out the movement and planned to cover the crack, which could have then widened without our being able to see it. During the estimate, BRT also was the only company to provide us with actual literature about their company and products. They were the first company to call back to follow up on whether we had chosen them or another company. All around, they were the most thorough and attentive of the companies we invited out. They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely fashion without major disruption. Since this work was done, we have had several downpours with no more water coming into the laundry room. We no longer have to put towels down before it rains...
