    Everything went well. The installer showed up a little late but called and let me know prior to his scheduled time which was a first as far as installers go. The gentleman installed a different main cable distribution amplifier which went quickly and he did a nice, tidy job on that. After he hooked up all the equipment, he went over all the new instructions and controllers with my wife and I. He also demonstrated the features of Uverse for us which was sorely needed.
     The cable service itself is incredible. Very state-of-the-art with ALL sorts of features that set it apart from everyone else. I cannot go into detail as there are a lot of things that would have to be covered but as far as cable services go, Uverse is head and shoulders above the rest.

    The service guy came out and looked it over. He went outside and checked some things and ended up inside. He was very nice, sociable. He was very good at what he did and fixed the problem. He said everything was getting a great signal and fixed the problem, so he thought. It did the same thing about a week later, so I called the 800 number yet again and the guy over the phone fixed the issue, but he didn't know it. I was supposed to contact for a service guy again, but the problem fixed itself, before I got the phone call back from them, which by the way i never received. This system has done this now 3 times, had 1 service guy come out and it has done it twice since then and fixed itself, so I never did find out what was truly wrong.
    They keep raising the bill without us knowing and he keeps climbing up. It's hard to say who to get because they all do this stuff. Having cable nowadays is nothing but a headache.

    I have had AT&T U-Verse for 6 years now, having signed up with them in the very beginning as I despise Time Warner.  Their content is excellent, I've never had an issue with internet speed (I use a mid range speed).  If you call the service center they will negotiate your rates - I recently obtained several discounts, got my internet speed doubled and ended up with a monthly bill $6 lower than what I was paying previously.  You have to call though, the "chat" feature on their website is worthless.  Hopefully nothing changes with their takeover of Dish, but I will continue to be a loyal and satisfied customer.

    This company has the same problem as other telecom companies. They have a good product, but their marketing is aggressive and designed to snare customers by misleading promotions. Their mainline telephone operatives in foreign countries seem to read from a script and are mechanically polite and rigid since they are not empowered to exercise discretion in dealing with ill-served or unhappy customers. At first, their offered services appear cheap for an advanced technology. They press you into upgrading services and on many of the channels in your "entertainment package" programs are available by (paid) subscription or by purchase on viewing. There is also quite a bit of pornography for sale regardless of whether you want access. At the same time, there is a lot of good programming if you search for it and find it. The big problem with this company (and probably others) is that they do not invest much effort in individualizing program packages to specific viewers that do not match their stereotypes. If they had a better system, they wouldn't need to resort to deceit.

    WHEN I ASKED HER ABOUT WHY SHE WAS BEING SO RUDE AND DEFENSIVE, SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS UPSET BY THE WAY THAT SHE FELT MY HUSBAND HAD SPOKEN TO HER ON THE PHONE. ALL HE DID WAS TO ASK HER WHERE THEY WERE, WHEN THEY WERE COMING OUT, AND WHY THE COMPANY HADN'T CALLED US. SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS UPSET ABOUT HIS ASKING WHY THEY HADN'T CALLED. HER COMBATIVENESS, DEFENSIVENESS, AND CAVALIER ATTITUDE CAUSED ME TO GO FROM MILDLY FRUSTRATED TO BEING REALLY IRRITATED. AFTER SHE INTERRUPTED ME SEVERAL TIMES, I ASKED HER TO STOP INTERRUPTING ME AND TO LET ME FINISH. SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE THAT FROM ME. AFTER THAT, I TOLD HER THAT SHE COULD CANCEL OUR APPOINTMENT. THIS COMPANY WAS LATE, RUDE, DEFENSIVE, AND NASTY. WE ASKED LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS AND WERE VERY CALM WITH THEM, AT FIRST. THIS COMPANY SEEMS TO LACK CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND RAPPORT. ESSENTIALLY, THE COMPANY ESCALATED OUR FRUSTRATION BY ITS RUDENESS.
