The project went great! Steven did an excellent (very meticulous) job in all demolition, replacement, painting, and finishing. He kept me informed on all the new developments as he began to tear open/down some of the walls which had rotten wood in them. He kept the work site clean of excess debris and did a thorough job of cleaning up at the end of each work day. Dealing with Classic Exteriors was pleasant and professional and I would highly recommend them to any friends or family.

Really well! The deck looks fabulous. Dan went above and beyond on many aspects: He built benches out of the excess material. He consulted me several times during the project for guidance, including the directional of the deck boards. He moved picked up, moved, and carefully stacked hundreds of existing (and heavy!) paver bricks out of the way. He added reinforcement for a future hot tub. My deck looks exactly how I wanted it, and was much cheaper than quotes from the bigger companies! The project was a little slower than I had expected (6 weeks or so) but it was during the middle of winter so I didn't mind. Dan's business is pretty much a one-man shop, and he does almost all of the work himself, from design to clean up. It's clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work. He stands out as a contractor that not just met expectations but exceeded them. I'm really glad I took a chance to go with him.

This contractor's workers had no idea how to work with the material and they showed no craftsmanship in building what they could. In attempting to install railings, they damaged a large amount of material and had to reorder supplies. With totally improper design of steps down to the patio, workers drilled posts into our patio blocks. They then had to remove those posts to properly design steps down to patio. Contractor patched ruined patio. It was necessary for us to call in patio company to properly restore patio at a cost to us. Customer service and interaction during this time was very poor. Finally, one worker familiar with man made railing system came in to complete job. After job was completed, homeowner noticed a few loose boards. Requested a few times that contractor return to fix. They never came. We have never heard from them again. Homeowner had to buy materials and complete job himself.

Not well. We bought Hardie siding, which we had pre-painted at the factory. When I saw the siding upon delivery, I told them there wasn't enough for the job. They wound up buying more and painting it themselves. The siding was not installed according to detailed instructions provided by the manufacturer. They used the wrong nails, did not apply Tyvek wrap to the house, did not properly flash along the roof where the siding ran along the shingles, istalled siding to close to the ground, and the paint was beginning to show cracking and crazing, etc. This caused the siding to begin to break down from moisture. When we contacted a contractor to discuss doing some repairs, he took one look at the siding and said he wanted to have the James Hardie Co. look at it. A Hardie representative went over it and said we needed to have the entire job redone because of improper installation. Hardie provided the siding and materials at no charge, plus a little money toward installation, but siding that should have lasted 40 years had to be replaced after 10, costing us an additional $19,000 out of pocket. I would like some kind of refund from Elite. They did good work on the porches, etc., the the siding installations was sloppy and improperly done. I am currently pulling together photos and working to obtain the report filed by James Hardie Co.

We couldn't be happier! Jeff is extremely conscientious, meticulous, and does beautiful work. He kept us informed throughout the process and left an immaculate work site each day. He handled unexpected changes with professionalism and good humor, and the project was competitively priced to boot. Highly recommend!

    Utmost Renovations
Things got off to a bad start when Rick Walker, the salesman, missed the very first appointment for a consultation at my house, which then had to be rescheduled. When we met, I described what I wanted which I thought was reasonably straightforward. It took three weeks before I finally got a written proposal, and it was almost completely devoid of any detail. I asked Mr. Walker for more details on the entry porch part of the project before I could make a decision, including some drawings to help me visualize their proposal. It took another 10 days before a sketch was provided, but it was for the side porch only. I asked for a drawing of the entry porch again and this time the president of the company, Mark Huffer, assured me they would get back to me "very soon". Four days later, I asked for an update on their promise to deliver a drawing. This time, I received a quick response from Mr. Huffer to call him ASAP. I called Mr. Huffer at this point and he immediately started making excuses about Mr. Walker and how busy he was. He then told me that he was "probably" going to let him go, which I thought was unprofessional to be telling me as a customer even if it was true. I was pretty frustrated by this time and said that in my business experience, you should not be making excuses like this. It was now over a month from my original inquiry and all this delay was compromising my ability to get the project done on my timeline. At this point, Mr. Huffer actually hung up on me. Since Utmost Renovations did not do any work for me, I cannot speak to their ability to do a masonry job. However, as a potential customer I am appalled at the way I was treated. Even if there was a "bad egg" salesman, which is one thing, the unprofessionalism of the company's president speaks even more loudly.

I have used Darren Adams for many inside and outside painting projects since around 2001. Probably one of his oldest clients. I've also recommended him to others. The quality of his work is always worth the price. When he's on site, he is organized and respectful of our property, leaving it clean and returning any space to its original, but improved, state. This year we hired his team to rebuild our deck and couldn't be happier with the result!

Such a great experience from start to finish with Jeff. We've had many jobs done before and we are used to having someone come by to quote and establish a relationship and then you never see them again as they just have their employees come complete the job but not with Jeff. Jeff is an extremely hard worker, not only is he making house calls and responding to my many questions via email but he actually built my deck too. It made my husband and I just feel so relieved for once not to have to worry about the job and if it was being done to the standards the company owner would expect. We are so pleased with our new deck. Jeff was on time, let me know promptly if there were any scheduling adjustments and is overall extremely professional. I would absolutely recommend A-1 to anyone who needed any carpentry work done!

We recently purchased a traditional 1970's 2 story home that still had its original kitchen.   Immediatley after we moved in, we started planning for our remodel.  A friend highly recommended Lenny so we met with him to talk about our options.  Shortly after meeting him we knew that he was going to be the perfect contractor for us.   He listened to our ideas and took lots of notes, but also offered creative design solutions that we hadn't considered.  Within a few days he presented us with a design that we loved, and a few weeks later his crew set to work.

I can't say that I'd ever want to live through a complete kitchen gut-and-redo again but Lenny and his crew went out of their way to make it  bearable for us. They worked efficiently and quickly.  All the guys on his crew were pleasant, personable and professional. They were careful to hang plastic to minimize dust as walls came down and ceramic floors were torn out.  At one point during the demo, I mentioned to Lenny that my son had some dust allergies.  The next day, he rigged up a high-powered air purifyer to even further minimize the dust.

We were impressed by Lenny's skill at coordinating every phase of the project, including the permits and inspections, deliveries, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc. There was very little "down time" between every phase of the project, and every phase seemed to move along quickly.

Regarding the quality of Lenny's work:  The friend who recommended him described his work as "high-end" and that was certainly our experience as well.  He's a highly-skilled carpenter and he cuts no corners.  He cares about quality and "doing it right."   Our cabinets, trim, windows, flooring, and outdoor living space are all beautiful and built to last for decades to come.

After only a couple of months we went from having a 1970's fixer-upper to a gorgeous home that we absolutely love.  We can't speak highly enough of DKL Construction and Lenny Jesuele, and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for top-quality work at a fair price.

    Pride Power Wash & Painting
First off, the guys could not have been nicer or more professional in their demeanor. I have some complaints about the work though. They power-washed and stained my second floor deck.  The power washing is so effective, that it ripped up many patches of the previous deck stain, which is fine, as long as those areas get well stained again. I was pretty amazed that they put down two coats on a very large deck in an hour and a half.  And I think it went so quickly because these two coats where too thin.  (I presume they put down thin coats so it can dry and they can do it all in one day.  But after they left, there were many patches of what felt like completely raw wood.  I really didn't think the wood would be protected from the elements. So I went back and put on a third coat myself to make sure the wood was protected.  After this third more liberal coat, the stain is now consistentall the wood is covered and water beads up on it.   If I use them again, promising to put down two real coats, no matter how long it takes, would be a requirement of getting the job. And I suggest you be careful about that if you use them.
