  • We contracted empire today to install carpet and laminate flooring for the entire first floor of our home. The salesperson was great. Very informative and did not pressure us at all. The carpet installation was performed 3 days later and that went well. The laminate flooring install was performed 2 days after that. We were told it would be a 2 day install and i took the days off work to accoomodate the install. They finished in one day instead of 2. After they left, we found out why. They didnt do a final walkthrough or inspection. The flooring in the doorway separating the kitchen and dining room has a huge bubble to where there is noticable give every time you step on it. They also left our entire kitchen without baseboard so the wall looks awful. They claimed the carpet installers didnt apply padding all the way to the transition by our front door and that they would need to come back with the padding to close the gap. The next day, a carpet installer came out with the padding, but couldnt complete the job because the laminate flooring was unevenly cut and since it was a clean line across, he could not install the piece to finish the flooring. So we had to call yet again to have someone come back out. We spoke with tommy dooley (the installation manager) who assured us it would get fixed. So they sent another guy out who showed up, and told us the entire floor would need to be redone because of the bubbling, but they were not allotted a full day to do it, and thats how long it would take. So they left without doing anything. So we had to call yet again, and after having to call over and over to finally get mr dooley to call us back, they scheduled us for today. It is now 3pm, nobody has called us or showed up. They supposedly allotted a full day appointment slot to fix this, and thats obviously not going to happen today. We have now taken a total of 6 days off of work and nothing is resolved. The product itself is nice, but the install and customer service have been nothing short of atrocious. I am not normally someone who writes complaints, but this has gone on for too long without resolution to not voice my opinion.

  • First of all, the installers could barely understand English when I spoke to them. They drove their van through my side yard where I just planted grass. They absolutely destroyed my lawn and were laughing about it. I asked them about it and they said nothing. I called Empire and have received no calls back. Absolutely disgusted with your company!

  • Day one they showed up late and only stayed long enough to make a mess of my house. They left piles of carpet in my hallway that I had to climb over. On day two, the owner of Rikmin said the job would be completed. What a joker. After day three they still where nowhere near finished and what they did do looked like a two year old's work. There where seams everywhere, visible to a blind person. What a bunch of butchers. I have never seen worse carpet installation. They have since been fired. Stay clear of Rikmin Flooring and Construction.

  • Terry, Kat and Teres from Wickliffe Location Carpet were very helpful in directing us to take a look at the Moduleo vinle flooring (I can't get over how real it looks!)  Some of our neighbors stopedp in to see it and they love it!!  The installers, Tim and Tony were wonderful and Tim even repaired one of my cabinets in the kitchen that has needed fixing for years and I mean YEARS!!!  They not only prepped the slab floors, but installed our new baseboards that we had purchased and stained, no problem.  They installed our new heater vents too!  Ben in Painesville and Teres in Wickliffe did a great job of scheduling.  They even finished off the edges of our remnants for area rugs which we wanted. OH and helped place our new toilet!

    They even helped move  some of the furniture back in!  If you have any plans to replace your flooring whether it be vinyl (and I would definitely recommend taking a look at the Moduleo vinyl flooring) or carpet, you've REALLY got to work with LOCATION CARPET.  THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!

  • They were really good and professional. I found somebody about $100 cheaper, but I did not get them because I had already made a commitment to Calvetta's. Calvetta's may be a little bit high, but their installation was very good. They made an appointment and were here on time. They had put a couple of nails in some carpeting to hold it in position, but they forgot them so they came right back and got them the next day or whatever.

  • Scott installed a remnant which I purchased from a local store. He even picked up the carpet from the store and provided the padding, saving me even more money. He was prompt, great quality and thorough. He responded to all calls quickly prior to coming out. The carpet is installed much better/tighter than my previous one. I pulled up the old one myself. There is no way this one is coming up with my own hands because of the excellent installation.

  • I found this company on Angie's list and they had pretty good reviews so I gave them a call for a free estimate on carpet for our new addition. Rob showed up as scheduled and was very personable and easy to like. He brought quite a few samples and on 11/25/13 I went ahead and contracted for carpeting and paid 1/2 down in cash. I got a discount for Angie's list, but only by paying cash, he said he could not give a discount if I used a credit card. The carpet was not in stock and it was noted on the contract that install would not be for 7-10 working days. On 12/12/13, Rob was here with the carpeting which was quite heavy commercial grade, very difficult to install with one person doing all the work. He persevered to finish the installation and left about 9:30 PM that night. He did not have anything for a receipt and no paperwork on the warranty on the carpet, but said he would forward it to me. No problems so far.....
    Over the last 3 months I have spoken with Rob 2 or 3 times regarding the warranty information AND about purchasing more carpet for an adjoining bedroom. He did come over and measure, gave me a rough estimate and left two sample boards, saying he would return the next week. We also discussed a problem area on the installation (a step up in the bathroom that has staples showing) he said he would take care of it when they installed the bedroom carpet. About 3 weeks later he called and said he couldn't remember where we left off, I refreshed his memory and he said he would be over today 3/28/14, and possibly bring more carpet samples. In the meantime, he would e-mail me the warranty info.  He showed up, but didn't bring any more samples. I asked if I could possibly come to their showroom and he said they didn't have one. I said I never got the warranty emailed to me, he said he was sorry he forgot, but would email it from my driveway before he left. That was 2 hours ago and I haven't received anything so far. I honestly think the only reason he came here today was to get his sample boards back.
    If I have any problems with the carpet, I have no idea who manufactured it or who the distributor is, the only contact I have is Lake Carpet & Flooring and my relationship with them is strained at best. Bottom line is, customer service after the sale is not good....no warranty info....never mentioned the problem area in the bathroom...didn't seem interested in any further business with me.

  • It went beautifully!  There were some minor delays due to the weather down south, but Rob at Lake Carpet & Flooring was always right on top of everything. Rob was very prompt in returning emails and phone calls  -  always professional and cordial, he made sure to keep me updated each step of the way - something I don't always get from service providers. 
    I love my new carpeting!  Rob and his associate had the carpet installed and vacuumed and furniture put back in about 5 hours. 
    It was a pleasure dealing with this company and I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in flooring.
