  • Judy returned my initial phone call by the next business day and got me all scheduled over the phone. They arrange dropoffs and pickups on the half hour, with only 2-3 people in each time slot to keep traffic well-controlled. The property is a bit of a drive, but worth the distance. I was buzzed through an outer gate when I arrived and got to walk Harvey (our dog) into his kennel. Then Judy collected the rest of our contact information and his vet records, and buzzed me back out through the gate. Pickup was similarly easy. He had been washed and his nails trimmed the day before, so he was clean and ready to go when I picked up. He seemed very happy--much less nervous than when he has come back from the kennel previously. We will definitely use Lobo Lodge again. Judy is clearly a dog lover, and it shows in how well she takes care of her clients (and their owners).

  • My 2 dogs boarded at Lobo Lodge for 12 days. The kennels were great - very clean (there was no doggy smells) & much roomier than kennels my dogs have stayed at previously. I've had dogs for 20 years & have used many kennels over the years.  I boarded the dogs at Lobo Lodge because the Thompsons allowed the dogs to run 3 times a day in the fenced 2 acre area.  My dogs are lab/cattle dog mix & love running.   The exercise is also very beneficial for my one dog, Denim, who had surgery to remove an obstruction in his intestines & now has damaged intestines.   It was good to know that he was getting exercise.   The indoor pen also had access to the outside run, so they were able to move outside.
I was very pleased with the nail trimming as the dogs' nails are not clicking on the hardwood floors & the shorter nails reduce stress on their joints.
Judy Thompson is an animal lover and seems very knowledgeable about dogs.    She was very professional in verifying that my dogs shots were up to date & very accomodating in keeping my dogs an extra day when my travel time lengthened.   Judy also showed a concern for the dogs well being.  I think Lobo Lodge provided excellent boarding accomodations & care for my dogs.

  • I have used Lobo Lodge Kennels for many years now.  Bill and Judy are extremely professional and I feel very comfortable that my dogs are being cared for in the best possible way.  It is like leaving them with a trusted family member.  In fact, we call them Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill.  Lobo Lodge offers pick up and delivery if you need it.  We have had them do that several times and when they arrive the dogs happily follow them to the car and when they are brought home they seem to hate to see them go.
The kennels are spotlessly clean, the property is very safe and Bill and Judy are very loving and caring towards the dogs.  I visited many places years ago when we had our first dog looking for the best place to board.  Lobo Lodge was by far the best place that I found.  Despite it being about a 40 minute drive from my house it is the only place I would take them.  I highly recommend them.

  • He and his daughter are in business together.  He has been very generous with my husband because he helped him get started, so I don't know what he normally charges.  Everyone seems happy with him and I don't know of anyone complaining about his charges.  I think he does a little bit of everything.  Our experiences have been very good.

  • Terrible service. I was told on the answering machine that they take emergency calls up until 11pm, and that the vet would call me back. I called at 9:30. I never received a call back. The next morning (a Sunday) I called again and was told to bring my dog in. When I arrived we waited for 45 minutes with a very rude receptionist. Once we got into a room, we waited another 20 minutes. Finally, Dr. Meakin and a tech came in. They did not introduce themselves to me or my dog, and seemed like I was a big inconvenience to them. The vet told the tech to put my dog on her side? The bite was right on her leg. I told them to be careful because my dog has pain in her back legs from a previous injury. He proceeded to grab her by the back legs and throw her on her back! She screamed in pain and fear. He then glanced at her, did not even touch the area, and told me with an attitude that she was fine. They both walked out of the room leaving me so bewildered I couldn't get a word out to complain or ask any questions. If this is the way they treat animals in front of their owners, I would hate to see what they do behind closed doors.

  • We are getting ready to use them again. The groomer that does our dog is Nicky and I would highly recommend her. She is very good with the animals.
