    At first, I was optimistic, as the sales presentation was impressive. My parent seemed to be comfortable with the caregiver, and the first week went well. However, as the weeks went on, the caregiver did not follow specific instructions - despite being provided in writing and face-to-face - leading to frustration and dissatisfaction on the part of my parent. I suspended the visits and spoke at length with their representative about our experience and needs. During that conversation, I asked for - and was promised - a meeting with the Hanson team to gather feedback from the previous 3 weeks of service and to hear their recommendations moving forward. I never received any follow up on that request, and no meeting took place. Three days later, the caregiver showed up, despite not being scheduled, and stayed - without accomplishing any significant activity. I called Hanson about that event, and never received a reply. Finally, I emailed the company with a detailed explanation of the series of events, and - you guessed it: never received a reply. I have cancelled the service, and will be certain to share this experience so that others can avoid a similar disappointment.

    They provide 24 hour care. The care they give is excellent. I really like them. They work hard to keep it simple and polite. Both the office staff and the home health workers are friendly. They have been caring for me for 2 and a half years. I would refer others to them. I will continue to use them.

    I would not recommend Griswold Special Care because of Illegal drug use and how the Care Giver took advantage of my Mother's good nature and telling us how, and what she thought she was going to provide. When in fact she broke all of Griswold Special Care's rules to provide no good home health care. Along with pulling the wool  over her owner and director Mr. Scott Kaase, to remarks to my Mother and I, that his service is, to actually quote Mr. Scott Kaase, his business is what it is. Telling me that as a customer, I have to take this less then un-professional business and live with it as a customer. Mr. Scott Kaase if your father which started this business, saw what your did to his business now. What would he think if you could tell him, it is what it is. Along with reporting in neighboorhood newspapers your providing good home health care, in fact you should quote people like us that have to put up with less no good health care.

    Griswold provided us Home Health aides initially for 16 hrs/day, 7 days/week for a couple of weeks and we had 3 different aides caring for my mother-in-law at that time. Then, we required 24 hr. care for her (she also had Hospice services and had terminal lung cancer) and we then had live-in aides for 2-3 weeks. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I'm glad we chose Griswold. There were a few glitches along the way, but nothing major. They provided a great service to our family during a very difficult time.

    I live alone. I was in a nursing home for a couple of months and when I came home she takes me out of the house. She takes me where I need to go and then waits for me and brings me back. There have a number of people that work for them. I work with one of them and I told her that she would see every doctor on the westside if she stuck with me. The service is exactly what I need. I am not anxious to have someone live with me. I have enough health appointments and I have to work around the doctor's times. This young woman does exactly what I need. A year ago I was able to drive myself. It is not free and I have to schedule my appointment times around her free time. A social worker recommended this agency to me. The nursing association works with them so I called them. The availability has been fine for me 99 percent of the time. The owner came to my house and registered me for the service. The gal that comes is friendly and it is like having a friend. She hasn?t missed an appointment time and I am so happy when she pulls in the driveway. I would rather she take me to lunch but there is always another doctor's appointment to go to.

    The main thing I appreciated about working with Griswold was that almost everybody who came to the house was willing to do the work. Part of the challenge was that they didn't always know what needed to be done, but once I worked up a list of duties, all we needed to do after that was find the right personality. Interestingly, even those whose personalities didn't "fit" didn't take it personally, and I remain friendly with them even though they don't work for my dad anymore. The main thing I learned was that it is very important to know what needs to be done and communicate it to the helper. You can't just call up for somebody and expect them to show up already trained about the details of how you run your house and what the person needs. Once I figured out that I needed to work alongside the person & show them what to do, and then be available for questions by phone (I live out of state), things were a lot easier. I also check in from time to time, and the helper knows that I expect to hear from her after she takes my dad to doctor appts.
