Tendon replacement surgery April 15 took an hour as an outpatient. 4 weeks later my cast was replaced with a walking cast I expect to graduate to a boot in a few days. I dreaded this surgery but this team made it somewhat bearable.

I saw Dr. Swan for tingling in my feet that had been going on for several months. She gave me an rx for B12 (without testing my levels- as tested later by another doctor, they were fine), night splints and orthotics. The orthotics were from the shop next door where you walk on a pad and they make them based on that.
None of these recommendations solved the problem. I was diagnosed with uneven hips which was causing other muscles to try and compensate. I have been in physical therapy with good results. I also have and quot;realand quot; orthotics that have worked well to keep my ankles from shifting inward. I felt that Dr. Swan just guessed at what was wrong and didn't really spend the time putting the symptoms together to get a correct diagnosis.

Dr Mehl is very good at explaining the procedure, and recovery period. He was always very patient in answering my questions. On the day of surgery he was great, went as planned and told me to call him with any problems. My husband actually had to call (on a weekend) due to a reaction to a prescription and Dr Mehl answered not an answering service provided the answers we needed and told me not to hesitate to call again if we had questions. The recover time was exactly what he said and I am on the road to recover with Physical Therapy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Mehl to anyone! He is always up to date on the latest information and is very knowledgeable and will pass that education on to his patients, which I appreciated very much.

Dr. Roof is such a wonderful health care provider that I continue to see him?despite having moved to another city!  He is always prompt, helpful, informative, understanding, and accommodating.  He explains how something happens, why it may have happened, gives multiple options for treatment, explains the impact/advantages/disadvantages such a course of action is likely to have.  I fractured my sesamoid bones in my big left and big right toes some years back.  At that time, we decided against surgery which was painful, expensive, would keep me from work for several weeks/month.  We tried a cortisone shot for the pain, which seemed to work beautifully in my left foot.  My right foot was another story.  After nearly 5 years of pain, I noticed that I had begun walking on the sides of my feet to avoid putting pressure on my broken sesamoid bone.  My back, hip, and the rest of my foot began hurting.  While I could have gone forever without surgery, Dr. Roof said that the point at which walking becomes unworkable, the situation would be unacceptable for him.  I realized he was right and scheduled surgery, which happened yesterday. Dr. Roof and his staff were helpful, friendly, and available right up to the surgery.  I needed multiple forms filled out for my medical leave of absence from work, as well as prescriptions and other paperwork faxed/emailed to me in Columbus, Ohio.  The surgery went beautifully, an--in addition with leaving me his personal cell number and welcoming me to call at any time with any questions--Dr. Roof called me last night to check on me, answer questions and give an operative report.  I hurt like the Dickens right now, but I know exactly what my body is doing, how long it will take to mend, what steps I can do to further my recovery, and that, come spring, I will be walking beautifully and painlessly for the first time in years.  I am supremely grateful to Dr. Roof and would highly recommend him to any and everyone.

Dr. George was fantastic. I've had a problem with ingrown toe nails my entire life, but I've never had such a wonderful experience with removing the problem. I experienced no pain or discomfort during the procedure (or even after the procedure). Dr. George has a very gentle touch. He cut out the ingrown portion of the nail. Believe it or not, the only anisthetic that was used was a spray (no needle!), but I still did not experience any discomfort.

Dr. Gitten came into the room, introduced himself to myself and my husband, said he needed x-rays done on my toes. He left the room, and I did not see him again until about 20 - 30 minutes after x-rays were done. He told me that toes number 1 and 2 were broken, and I needed a shoe. What size did I wear? I told I had big feet, and would need a mans size 9 or 10. He left the room without examining my upper foot where I told him and pointed out the bruise. Tech came in with size 10 mens shoe, and I was out the door. I have been to him 2 other times with toes, on second appt. I told him he would sit down and talk to me. That was when I wanted questions about why foot hurt so bad above toes 3 and 4 and on the ouside of foot hurting so bad. He then told me that I had pulled the ligaments very bad, and it would take extra time to heal. On the third visit was having trouble with right ankle that I broke in 1980. I had broken it off the foot, and have a screw in it. He said he could do surgery on it, clean out the arthritis, and take the pin out, but would not guarantee the surgery would remove the gimp in my ankle. He told me that someone in the outeroffice would explain the whole proceedure to me. They didn't Ortho Nuero only does surgery in New Albany, and I have had problems with staff nurses not paying attention to IV's, arm swelling, and giving meds that I am allergic to. I had agreed to surgery, but then called 3 days later and cancelled it.
