Hazard Remediation reviews in Westerville

We suspected mold somewhere since it smelled musty in the basement and the smell carried up to the main floor of our house. I'm allergic to it , it makes me cough. I emailed Zach and he responded quickly. We set up a time for him to come and take a look at the situation and asked qustions about remediation. Zach was there right on time. We found Zach to be very knowledgeable and professional. He explained how the crawl space should be treated. At that time we suspected that area was the source of the mold. While Zach was there we also had him check the air quality upstairs and in the basement/crawl space area. Zach called us when the air quality results came in. He emailed us the results which showed we did have mold in the crawl space area. We set up a time for him to come back and fog the house to treat the mold. He came back a few days later to do that. After that my husband worked on the crawl space using Zach's suggestions. We then had Zach come back one more time to fog the house again since removing the crawl space insulation stirred up the mold again. He did a great job! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with a mold situation.

The "Safe Basements of Ohio" and "Columbus Environmental" divisions of ZNB Construction, LLC performed work at our home between October 23 and November 1, 2018. We are currently and continue to experience worsening damage at our home caused by the crews from this company and their subcontractor. We are pursuing formal action to ensure this does not happen to any other customer. Please see our detailed review under "Safe Basements of Ohio" -- which includes photographs of the damage and condition of our basement after we spent nearly $10,000.00 to waterproof it. Repeated attempts to reach the owner, Neil Bookout, to arrange for repairs he promised have been ignored.

Our work was scheduled the week of October 22nd, but got a late start. A subcontracted plumber (Plumbing and Drain Professionals) was sent out to move our appliances away from the walls to allow for installation of the drains. The waterproofing crews installed the drains but damaged our plumbing pipes and connections in the process. One of the crew members, Paul, readily admitted one of his guys snapped off a PVC pipe during jackhammering. There are plumbing connections leaking in the same area where the damage occurred, which suggests some force was applied to the plumbing in that area. A pipe connected to our furnace is damaged and leaking. The subcontracted plumbers were supposed to move our water heater back to its original position, but instead, the water heater remains in standing water with the original exhaust pipe in the top cut in half. The bottom of it has now rusted and corroded enough that it is leaking. The owner, Neil Bookout, came to our home to see the damage along with Casey from the subcontracted plumbing company. Neil expressed his frustration and vowed to have our damaged plumbing fixed. To compensate for this whole ordeal, Neil promised he would also cover the plumber relocation of our sump pump drainage pipe from our back yard to the drainage ditch out front to complete the waterproofing project. He also agreed to reimburse the additional costs weve incurred with the plumbing subcontractor. Weve attempted to settle this privately. After 3 emailed requests to make good on his promise to us, Neil Bookout has not responded or followed through on his commitment. We have documented this situation very carefully, including a timeline, pictures of the damage, and emails/text messages between us and the team at Safe Basements of Ohio. We are now pursuing formal action to prevent this from happening to any other customers. After nearly $10,000 spent to have our basement waterproofed, there is more water in our basement now than in all of the nearly 13 years we have owned this home. Our mold remediation will have been useless. We are very disturbed at the lack of honesty, integrity, and follow-through in how this situation has been handled.

Zach came and inspected all areas of our house, looking for sources of a strong musty odor. He was through, friendly and down to earth- even with two kids and a dog following us around. He gave lots of small recommendations for improvements but ultimately found no signs of mold or need for remediation. Free inspection! It was great peace of mind and great to get advice that didnt feel pushy at all. Id definitely recommend!!

I had two basements done. The first went according to plan but the second required some follow-up to get the levels under control. Jesse was always very responsive and professional and the overall outcome exceeded expectations.

I was very happy with the response time from Dry Patrol. Within 2 days of my call a very knowledgeable consultant came out and reviewed my situation for free. He did not find any issue that needed remediation. He was very thorough, professional, and honest. If I do have an issue in the future I will call them again.

Zach Duffy at Mold Mentor was extremely professional working with us to detect and get rid of black mold. He had insight into the cause, provided recommendations for other contractors needed to repair the problem and was clear and forthcoming outlining work needed and associated costs. Costs were reasonable too. Whew! I was grateful to find him!!

Mold Mentor responded quickly and were actually able to come out on the day I called. They quickly identified the source of our moisture and the extent of the mold and damage. Luckily, it was an easy problem to resolve. Zach Duffey, the owner, gave us the steps we needed to easily resolve the leak and the mold on our own. I am a real estate agent and recently used Mold Mentor on one of my listings that had some mold in the basement. My sellers were pleased with their ability to respond quickly and to offer affordable solutions for their particular issue as well. Zach Duffey is honest and dependable and you will not be overcharged or given misinformation. I highly recommend him for any mold issues you find in your home.

Please do not choose Radon Systems for your radon mitigation services. Having had them install a system in a home my wife and I purchased 21 short months ago, we are wishing we choose another vendor. After this short time, there is such a loud vibration noise in the bedroom nearest the exhaust pipe you cannot stand to be in the room. I called the office asking the company to come out and look into what the issue might be given it is still under warranty. Within seconds, the receptionist told me we would be charged $75 towards a trip charge that wouldnt be credited for any work, it was just to assess the situation. After questioning why there was a charge for an under warranty product, she proceeded to say that I may have had work done on the home causing an issue. You have got to be kidding me!! So, we now have a system from an organization that will only assess the issue given $75, is already placing blame on the homeowner without looking at the issue, and if we go with another company to do what they couldnt it will void our warranty. I have also requested contact from anyone else at the company to discuss giving them another chance and have never heard back. Whatever you do, please go with another provider, you will thank yourself later.

John was very thorough, patient and willing to work around my schedule. I had a wonderful experience working with him. He performed a typical radon test that found I had high concentrations of radon. He installed a radon system and re-ran the test. The test showed it had significantly reduced the radon but it was still in the high range of normal. John offered to install a second system through my sump in order to bring down the numbers even further. He didn't feel satisfied enough with the numbers and suggested we move forward with a second radon. We agreed and the numbers are way down. He is a very honest and hard worker and I appreciated his expertise in advising us on what to do. I feel very comfortable with the decision. If you are looking for anything related to radon I'd go with the Radon Wizard.
