    I was unable to light the pilot light on my gas fireplace. Tim was able to tell me how to light the pilot light over the telephone. I needed to hold in the "pilot" button for much longer (up to 5 minutes) than the 30 seconds that the manual indicated since I had turned off the gas on the floor. Tim, thank you very much. I will certainly add you to my list of excellent businesses.

    Called and made an appointment. Appointment time was 2 P.M. The service tech, Connor, called about 12:25 and said he could come earlier. He arrived within 10 minutes. Came in the door with all the tools he would need--no extra trips back to the truck. Began work cleaning and adjusting the fireplace and was out the door by 1:15 P.M. Very professional and clean service. I highly recommend this company.

    The cleaning went well. Unfortunately, the technician removed all of the glowing ember material and forgot to replace it, but we did not notice until after his departure. After calling them back to discuss, they acknowledged the oversight and scheduled a return visit to install some new ember material. Also, the pilot light spark igniter does not always light the pilot. Instead of attempting to correct, the technician used a manual lighter to ignite the pilot. As part of the tuneup, I expected the technician to diagnose any issues, provide an estimate to correct, and give us the option to have that additional work done. The technician did not attempt to diagnose, but rather found a temporary workaround, that I'm not necessarily interested in doing every time I want to ignite the pilot light.

    Overall, an excellent experience with this company. The employees at Specialty Gas House were easy to work with, answered all my questions and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Their prices are very competitive compared to two other companies in the Columbus area I researched. The installer (Toby?) was very competent, safety conscious, friendly and did not leave a mess. He went over the basics of using gas logs and mentioned that they also serviced what they sell and install.

    I purchased the $99 gas fireplace cleaning and inspection deal and entered three dates/times, as prompted, for when I was available for an appointment. Once those days passed and I had not heard back from them, I called the number listed on Angie's List and it is out of service. I went to their website and tried to send a message, it didn't give me the option to hit send. I emailed their company email address and received no response. I tried the other phone number on their website which was also out of service. Besides showing up at their door, I tried every form of contact possible and was unable to reach them. After reading other reviews, it seems pretty acceptable to say that Brian and his company are not to be trusted.

    The fireplace looks MUCH better and performs better, too.  They were on time and worked quickly and cleaned up nicely when finished.  The only problem that I had was the phone tag that we played initially, although that was as much on my end as theirs.

    I bought this deal from Angie's list for gas fireplace check up from this company.  Called April 27th and scheduled an appointment the next day.  No one showed up and no one called me to explain.   Called the office again and left a message to check what is going on end of last week.  No one called me back.  Now it seems I can not find anyone to answer the phone.  Is the company still in business?  Need Angie's list to refund my purchase!

    I woke up to a cold house the morning after the national championship game, and the first thing that came to mind was Atlas Butler's catchy jingle, so I gave them a call.  Tech was prompt, polite and professional.  Explained what was wrong and went out to his van to draw up a quote.  Came back with a quote for >$1,000 to replace motor and capacitor, plus $250 to replace flame sensor or $100 to clean flame sensor and get the furnace working again, but he couldn't guarantee tit wouldn't need to be cleaned again soon.  Also, couldn't say how long the blower motor/capacitor would last as it was pulling too many amps.
    I paid $200 for the service call and flame sensor cleaning, but at a quote of over 1k for the blower, I decided to get a second opinion on that piece.  Care Heating and Cooling came out this morning and ran a full diagnosis.  Recommended replacing the capacitor for $90 and saved me $1,000.
    I won't say A/B was scamming me, but I had heard to be wary of technicians paid commission.  I sure am glad I decided to get a second opinion.  I'll be calling Care first next time.
