Eye Care reviews in Westerville

  • I did purchase my glasses with the help of Kara Jones, L.D.O., at the office on Alkyre Run Drive in Westerville, Ohio. I cannot say enough good things about Kara. She was awesome. Kara was easy going, patient, attentive, competent, professional, and knowledgeable. I wanted to purchase an additional set of lens for my glasses (they are interchangeable). With her help we placed the order. The lenses took longer than expected to arrive, and then the fit was not exact. Kara contacted the "Rudy" people and immediately got it resolved. Because of her persistence, I ended up with a free frame and the perfect glasses. I am so glad I did not try this online. Through this process, Kara's colleagues were also great, be it on the phone or in person. I also met with Assistant Manager Robin Link, when Kara was unavailable. I know Robin also played a huge part in making sure things were resolved and I was happy with my purchase. Although I did not use the physicians at Comprehensive Eye Care, I will definitely go back for any optical needs. They carry a huge selection of glasses and really do give you the personal care and attention that is needed. I also really enjoyed getting my glasses here, because it is a personable space and it is easy to see all the available frames. Finally I have been in stores where employees are clueless about their product and are not ambitious nor competent. Sometimes staff members are too busy talking among themselves about how tired they are, or what they are doing that night etc. It was so refreshing to deal with professionals, that seemingly like each other, respect each other and help each other.

  • Dr. Chioran examined my eyes and wrote a prescription for lenses on 5/19/15. I picked up my glasses several weeks later but had trouble with my vision. After trying to adjust for 2 weeks I went back to the optician and he ordered new lenses with a different set point. I tried those glasses for several weeks, but they were worse so I returned them and went back to the original lenses. However, I continued to have problems so I went back a third time and Dr. Chioran did another exam, giving me another prescription. I now have those glasses and am quite pleased with them. I appreciate this office working with me until I had glasses that work and that the physician urged me to continue to let them know if I were dissatisfied.

  • Dr. Doyle is the hero of my life.  I spent many years trying to get Lasik surgery with many denials due to the level of correction and the astigmatism (over -9.00 in each eye).  Dr. Doyle is very conservative.  She wants to make sure that all goes well.  It was a long process (about four or five months from start to finish).  She performed the ICL on one eye at a time in December, then January (helps with the funds for the tax saver).  Then after both implants were done and stabilized, she used PRK to correct the astigmatism (this is the clinical recommendation by the manufacturer of the ICL).  Once the PRK healed, my vision went to 20/20.  Since I was 7 years old, I was not able to see without glasses.  To this day, I have 20/20 vision.  It's incredible and I can't thank her enough.  It changed my life!  I sent my husband to see her.  He had the same wonderful experience.  I also sent my dad to the same practice for a touch up on his cataracts.  He saw Dr. San Filippo.  My dad had the same awesome experience and loved his doc.

  • It's not covered by insurance, but I wanted to be able to see, and Dr Erdey told me how great he was at this, how he was the first one to be approved to do it in Ohio, etc... I had spoken with our optometrist who said she'd been to a talk he'd given on ICL's and she was happier with the lenses they were now using, so it was worth at least having the evaluation, but she said to be sure he checked to be sure my dry eyes wouldn't present a problem.

I was  scheduled to have a procedure where they use a laser to put holes in your eyes - so there's no pressure build up during the surgery. No numbing eye drops were used, but someone stood behind me plastering my head to the machine as hard as they could because it feels like someone snapping rubber bands in your eyes - LITERALLY!!!

He was supposed to use Crystalens - because they're supposed to be the Gold Standard, but right before my surgery - I'm talking literally 5 minutes before the operating room, he came in and said that he might not be able to use the Crystalens, and oh btw, did I want one eye for distance and one eye for near vision!?  Excuse me?! Like NOW is the time to be throwing all of this at me! Then he said, "Nevermind, I'll figure it out!" and walked out. Now mind you he's a nice guy - so it wasn't flippant, but this was really bad planning on his part!

My ICL surgeries had been scheduled a week apart. After he did the right eye, he wasn't happy with the result, so he put off the 2nd surgery for a week to reorder a different lens for my left eye. He did the left eye, and everything went well, but because he wasn't happy with the right eye I asked if was going to redo it. He said no. Well, I ended up getting a cataract in that eye, and finally couldn't take it anymore - so I went back to have it removed.

I saw Kayla, who does the insurance pre-approvals, and I was set up for my appt. Turns out you not only have to have the cataract removed, but the ICL as well. Wouldn't it make more sense to just fit people with cataract lenses in the first place? Then there would be nothing to scratch up! Turns out what Dr Erdey was unhappy with, the level of my lens is what caused the cataract. It makes me mad he didn't replace it when he realized it wasn't a good fit!  When you're shelling out $7,000 you don't want mistakes!

Now comes the fun part! We had United Healthcare. With UHC, cataract surgery is clearly a covered procedure, BUT THEY billed it incorrectly! And they refused to rebill the insurance co! They said I owed them $5,400 due and payable immediately!

Their billing department SUCKS Donkey D***!!! The billing manager, Barb is the biggest horses patoot this side of the moon!

  • My doctor there is Christopher Jordan. He is very good. I like him. He is always prompt and on time. They completed the examination. I'm diabetic so they have extra test on me. I just feel very comfortable with them that they do a complete, thorough exam. They're very straightforward.

  • Well, my husband's appointment was for 10:30 a.m. It is now 12:23 and we have yet to see the doctor. If you have nothing better to do with time then go here. Otherwise I'm sure there are other doctors who are just as good & don't waste your time. There was no reason given to us as to why it took so long to get seen.

The doctor is fine & seems to know what he's doing. The 2 hours of waiting to see him is unacceptable.

  • I have been going to them for 30 years.  They have always been nice to me.  I never had problems with them.  So I just keep coming back.  I don’t know if they are better than the other companies but they have always treated me well.  I make the appointment when I go in for the next year.

  • The appointment went great. The office is clean and the office staff is very friendly and outgoing. I waited five minutes before I saw her. I would tell friends to expect great service and the doctor is friendly and outgoing. She has been my eye doctor for years, I have followed her when she moves. This is her own office now.

  • Dr. Errington is by far the BEST eye doctor I have had interaction with. She is professional, yet personable. I would drive an hour just to be seen by her. This place truly cares about their patients!

  • When I arrived 15 minutes early, I signed in and was seated. There were about 15 people in the waiting area. About 45 minutes later, I was called up to review my information and pay my co-pay. I went back to the waiting area and was there for another 30-45 minutes. Just as I was asking how much longer the wait would be, a woman came out and took me to a room to begin my journey of 4 different rooms and people over the next hour. The woman was abrupt and curt. When I mentioned that they were very busy today, she said and quot;just like any other dayand quot;. I asked her a question about the equipment she was using (in an effort to and quot;lighten the moodand quot;) and she rudely responded. I was then escorted to another room with another person who WAS friendly. When I mentioned that she was the first person that was pleasant, she expressed concern and apologized for the poor experience so far. A little goes a long way and I appreciated her response.
I was then escorted to another room and finally met with the ophthalmologist. He was fine - not too friendly, but not rude either - he was professional.
I was then taken to another room to see the optometrist for contact lens fitting. He was friendly/cordial. He gave me some options that I hadn't been aware of and it turned out great for me. I followed up with him about a week later about my contacts and he was great.
I was happy with the end result, but the front desk should have kept me informed about the wait time. The front desk didn't even issue an apology or anything that acknowledged my inconvenience. As I was finally asking about how long it was going to be, I noticed there was a sign on the floor behind the reception area that stated they were working on a new computer system. A sign on the floor behind the reception area is useless to patients. The service provided by the first employee I saw was inexcusable.
As a side note, the optician in the glasses area was great. Extremely helpful and pleasant and even worked with me past closing time.
