Insulation reviews in West Chester

I had researched a lot of information about how best to insulate a house. I had a few different quotes from companies and I was looking for key things for them to say. Basically they all said, "we'll just put in cellulose." The reason I went with Chris is for two reasons. First, he looks at this from an ecological aspect. Doing this is the best way to make your home "greener" thus saving on energy usage and pollution. Secondly, because he looks at every house as a snowflake where no two are alike. He inspected every part of my home and came up with a detailed plan that involved air sealing (the most important) then a combination of foam and cellulose. He was excellent to work with and extremely knowledgeable. His crew - especially Jason - were great to work with. Both gentleman have very high standards for themselves and want to make sure the customer is satisfied. I have no reservation recommending Chris and his company to anyone looking for improving their house.

On Sunday, I noticed a small amount of water dripping from a recess can light in my second floor ceiling. I called Bone Dry at 10 AM the following day and made an appointment for Tuesday at 10 AM. Pat Hesselbrock arrived on time with another Bone Dry employee. Pat listened to my description of the problem and then inspected the attic. He took several photos and a video. He walked me through his assessment after completing the inspection. Pat provided details regarding the depth of attic insulation, attic temperature and whether or not the ventilation was sufficient. His conclusion was that there was condensation in a small part of my attic due to good but less than ideal ventilation in that area. Due to the extreme cold over the past two and a half weeks, the ventilation was not enough to prevent some condensation. Given that it is rare to have extreme cold for that long, he recommended monitoring it versus making a modification to prevent what is likely a very rare event (once in 14 years). I found Pat to be trustworthy and would recommend Bone Dry.

These guys are fabulous. Joe and Marty not only completed the job in a short three hours, but they also found that my dryer vent was not attached along with the vent on the roof being clogged as well. They fixed everything and left the place in great condition.

Everything went great! I'm a DIY guy with an engineering background, and I tend to be skeptical about these services, but his method of evaluating the house for issues gave me 100% confidence that the source of my problems were real. In addition his guarantee that the recommended solutions would solve the problems gave me more confidence. The evaluation of the house included an air blow test where they put a large fan in the front door and pull a slight vacuum on the house. We then walked around with a smoke wand to visually see where air was leaking into the house. He also had an infrared camera that showed the heat loss areas around the house. His quote provided a menu of recommended solutions where some were optional and others were highly recommended. In the end, the work was completed well and after going through a winter and summer after the work was done, I am pleased to say that I don't need the space heaters that I used to use around the house and I can actually make it cold in the house during the summer. These are things I was never able to do in the past. The leaky fireplace that made my family room uncomfortable all the time is no longer leaky and I don't need blankets to watch TV anymore. My only regret is that we didn't do this 20 years ago!

We were able to get an appointment quickly for a free inspection. While the attic insulation was in great shape, the 2 exhaust fans and venting appeared to be the issue. In less than a week, they came back to perform the needed work (replaced fan motors, properly attached exhaust pipes in the attic to the fans and even touched up some ceiling paint around the fans. The service we received from Brian, Sid and Joe was outstanding and the price was very fair. I would definitely use them again and recommend them for any attic project.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Dr. Energy Saver. We have been in our house now for over a year and the cooling/heating bills have been crippling. With the colder weather we have been spending crazy amounts of money to heat the house and our daughters room was the coldest room in the house. We would have to have a space heater on 24/7 in her room to make it just livable. Plus our floors would be so cold you would have to have socks and slippers on all the time. I was fed up with it and so I contacted two companies USA Insulation and Dr. Energy Saver. USA was only in our house for less than 15 mins, while Chris was in our house doing all sorts of test for over an hour. So the decision was an easy one! I contacted Chris at Dr. Energy Saver about helping us fix the problem. Chris, Jason and their crew showed up right on time and I was shocked they took the time to introduce me to each of their crewmembers. Which was extremely comforting since Im a stay at home mom with my husband at work when they were here. HUGE plus in my book, team was so kind and extremely professional. They were at the house for a day- working on re-sealing the attic and placing new insulation in the attic, as well as working in the basement on the rim joist I believe that is what Jason said it was called. After they left I was curious so I turned my heat off- and OMG my floors are warm and the biggest plus is that my daughters room is warm and the space heater doesnt have to be on all the time. I am extremely grateful to Chris and Jason. Thank you so much for making my house more enjoyable. Cant wait to see the difference in the summer! I highly recommend them, and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to call them!! Thank you again Dr. Energy Saver!

This was a scam from the beginning. When the contractor was contacted they stated that the service they provided was free of charge to all but Angie's customers who paid 49 USD. They come out for free to give an estimate for work to be completed later. Shows Angie's cannot be trusted. Won't be buying anything else.

Tony and his team were thorough in their inspection and helpful and articulate on their recommendations. They arrived early for the appointment and his crew was very efficient and respectful of our time and completed the job and cleaned all affected areas without issue. They completed the job ahead of schedule. We were very pleased with their level of customer service and would definitely recommend their company to anyone and would hire again for future insulation needs. They also fixed other minor repairs that they noticed during the inspection and a few minor areas upon our request.

The team was great to work with, from the time we got the original quote until we actually decided to go with The Attic Experts they answered every question. We needed to put the whole installation on hold until we figured out if we were going to go with them and they held their original quote. They came over to do the inspection and estimate and really gave great details on what needed to be done.

After the installation was done they recently sent follow up pictures of the entire attic on what the finished product looks like. Our master bedroom actually feels like the rest of the house now and we are no longer just throwing money out the door through the attic.

Great investment and great team to work with.

Overall: Extremely pleased with the quality of the products and workmanship.

We would definitely recommend them to others.

Sales process was good.  Jeff explained the process, products, and did a walk-around the house identifying opportunities to address existing problems.  He gave us good advice. We settled on price and schedule.  Price included replacing or repairing any damaged wood, unless damage was extensive, at which point they will advise on material costs.  There were several issues that

Job delayed a little over a week due to rainy summer this year. They are very good about keeping water off exposed surfaces and will not work on a section unless they are certain they can cover it in the event of rain. The job took a couple of weeks to complete because of its scope and there were rain delays during the process.

When the job started, Dwayne arrived on the job on time, introduced himself and his helper. We did another walk around the house to make sure we were both on the same page.

Dwayne pointed out other issues I had not seen earlier: Example: the new siding was thicker than the old, so an existing fence post was too close to the house.  We discussed options and agreed to trim about 3/4 of an inch from the post. (no charge).  We also had a leaking gutter and he advised how he would change the gutter assembly on the new installation to prevent that from recurring.  (Several other examples.)

They worked efficiently and steadily every day they were on the job, cleaned up thoroughly every day, and gave great advice. We touched base every day just to make sure I was aware of progress and issues and to make any needed decisions.

Dwayne identified several serious problems with the original home construction and subsequent work we had done:

      - Improper attic ventilation - original builder created no soffit venting (necessary for airflow through the attic):  he fixed without extra charge, and it took several hours of extra time.

      - Discovered that the previous window installer had not insulated ANY of the replacement windows:  minor charge per window (material and time)

      - Previous siding had problems with water channeling; he fixed as he went (flashing, J-channel, water diverters).

Dwayne also provided advice on the aesthetics of the job, and in each case his ideas turned out well.

He was respectful of our property and our schedule, we were flexible about unavoidable delays because it was in the best interest of having the job done correctly and well.

    The house looks new.

We are very pleased with the results and will definitely recommend this company to others.
