Home Theater And Stereo Installation reviews in West Chester

I contacted Mike to hang a tv on my fireplace wall. He seemed to be very courteous and indicated it would be a strait forward job with a flat rate charge. He informed me of when he would be in my area again and proposed a time to come out. This is where the trouble began. The day of the job I ended up calling him because it was pushing into my scheduled appointment time. I had a late afternoon/ evening appointment and I had not heard anything. Mike informed me that he was running behind but I was next in line. He also informed me that he did not know exactly when he would show up, but reiterated that he would be headed my way. Three hours later I attempted to call him again but only got his voicemail. I both left him a voice mail and sent him a text. It was after 8pm at this point and I had been waiting most of the evening. I wanted to know whether he was still coming. I got no response, so I attempted to call him again after 9. Again, I got his voicemail and left a message. It has now been 2 days since my scheduled appointment and I still have not heard anything. No phone calls, no texts, nothing.

I completely understand that things happen. Conflicts come up, emergencies happen, you name it. If MIke ran into a situation where he couldn't get to me the day of my appointment I would have understood. All he had to do was take the time to tell me. Heck, i would have understood had he bothered to contact me at any point in the past 2 days since. It's common courtesy and it only takes a minute to call or text. As it is he left me waiting all night, and has since not bothered to call me back. It's rude!

Looking through his other negative reviews it seems he has a habit of this. I'm sure to expect some level of comment from him stating that he can't make all of his customers happy, he learns from his mastakes, Yada yada. Clearly this is all bs as he still doesn't feel the need to keep his customers informed. If you want to schedule an appointment with the expectation that you may or may not have him show, and will likely get little to no communication, then Mike is the guy. If, however, you expect more from your service and want professional courtesies do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

    ***Update*** 2 days later (11/29)
Following my initial post I received a call and text from Mike apologizing for missing his appointment. I didn't necessarily believe the reason he provided but decided to give him a chance to correct the situation. We agreed that he would come out to hang the tv the following day for a discounted rate.

His communication leading up to the appointment time improved significantly. He still ended up being almost an hour late, but provided text message updates along the way (greatly appreciated). Upon arrival he was professional and courteous. He assessed the job and took the time to walk through some options with me. I had bought a full range tv mount which, little did i know, had the potential to damage my brick fireplace wall. He indicated he would continue with the install if I wished, but wouldnt be able to warrant the work due to the risk. Instead he recommended a tilt mount that he had it him. The price he provided for the mount seemed high, but I appreciated that he took the time to explain the potential risk. In the end I considered it a wash with the discounted installation price, and opted to take his advise.

The installation went very smoothly, and the end product looked great. I am glad that I gave him another chance to come out.

Mike and his team were awesome!  They were quick, professional, and the price was right.  They went above and beyond and connected everything to my new receiver (TV, DVD player) without me even asking!  Wow; I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  They made a tough job (mounting a large TV on stone) look super easy.
Mike is also quick to return phone calls.  That was very much appreciated.

I first got exposed to Hanson at the 2013 Homearama in Liberty Twp, where they did basement A/V on like 3 houses. I was hooked on the integration and connectivity they were promoting and knew I wanted to do business with them when the time came to finish my basement.
One day while in Dayton, I decided to pop in to their shop for a visit. I don't recommend this unless you're feeling lucky because these guys are pretty much appointment driven. Chris spent a few minutes with me discussing my concept but he pretty much told me to come back when I've got specs and measurements for the layout of my basement. I left that first visit feeling like Chris was an a** but rather than get upset I heeded his advice.
Fast forward a couple months and I made my return to Hanson with a plan and an appointment. I sat down with Troy Hanson and we discussed my budget and what sorts of things I wanted for my basement. After the discussion Troy came back with a very detailed quote to support my ultimate Man Cave. Our next discussion was spent tweaking a few items, negotiating prices, and clarifying intent. Ultimately, we had a deal. 3 flat screen TVs, a 110'' movie screen, projector, ceiling mount speakers, Paradigm tower speakers and sub woofer, and a Control4 system--inclusive of electronic door lock for my front door. Not to mention Troy built a plan that allowed me to utilize the numerous Bose speakers I've collected over my adulthood.
Troy even offered to design a home theatre concept which I subsequently used for my project. He took the time to look of pictures of my concepts throughout the rest of the basement, asked about the room's theme and so on. All of this was so that he could draft up a home theatre that would fit with the rest of the basement. It was an awesome design and was included in their overall service fee. Additionally, I decided to purchase my theatre seating through Hanson. I bought 3 Palliser electronic recliners. I have not received them yet due to a backlog and delay with the manufacturer but I expect them to be top notch. The chairs were just over $5000.
Installation was smooth and the installers were extremely professional. From the pre-wire date to the actual installation, everyone I encountered was very professional. Marques Sitter, they read installer, took time to teach me my system and guaranteed his availability for future questions.
I gave them a B on price simply because they aren't cheap.
Hanson delivers awesome and high quality audio video solutions. I would definitely recommend them to others and I would use them again.

We have looked at the Angie's list to select this company for the service required. The person who performed the service is a good professional - like a mountain climber, he holds the fixture mounted on the wall and uses his own weight to test it. At the end of his work, the TV is mounted on the wall with all cables hidden in the wall. He then vacuumed the floor area to pick-up any dust. He also provided us some guidance on how we could save on purchasing ancillaries that often cost a lot more than the TV these days. Hope the firm continues to provide such good services .

    Alamo Electronics
The folks at Alamo were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We went in looking for a specific SONY model that we could not find at Best Buy or any of the other big box stores. We were surprised to see that Alamo had identical (and sometimes better prices) than the other stores out there -- you tend to think that a smaller store wouldn't be competitive but this is not the case. We came in about 30 minutes before closing and they were kind enough to stay a few minutes late at their warehouse down the street so that we could pick up our television that same night instead of waiting for delivery. All in all, we were very pleased with the service, products and pricing.
