    MAYFIELD COLLISION CENTERS
I chose Mayfield Collision Center because I had worked with their Mayfield Road location to get a smaller job done several years ago on a different car, and was happy with their service and work. I have not had the same experience with their Aurora Road location.

They had my vehicle for almost three weeks for the repair in December. One of the services they offer is that you can Check Status online to check the review process with your own unique ID for the job. I liked the idea of this, but there were not regular progress updates, and I saw no picture updates for my job.

My car was ready just before Christmas late in the day. They pulled my car outside in the dark when I came to pick it up. They didn't offer to walk through the repairs on the car with me, and the list on the invoice was long. Paula was eager to get me out the door with my invoice and key, and close up for the holiday.

After getting my vehicle home, I noticed that they didn't vacume my vehicle. There were little bits of debris scattered throughout the car that were left behind from their work. Since they were closed for the Christmas holiday, I vacumed it out myself. I'm sure there is debris I missed just because I don't have the equipment to do a detailed vacuming job.

In December yet between Christmas and New Year's, I had to take the car back in. I noticed that there was a plastic strip over the right rear passenger tire that was not fitting flush to the car. They missed it during the repair. Mike ordered the part and they replaced it in January.

Shortly after New Year's Day, I stopped in because my hatch would not open/shut completely. After getting there, we were able to get my hatch closed. Mike said that it looked OK and it was probably ice. This hatch problem happened a few more times over these past few months.

Recently I had to stop back in because I needed to use the eye hooks inside my hatch, and I noticed that one was not exposed. They missed this during the reassembly, but fixed it when I stopped in.

This past week I stopped in because I noticed while cleaning that there was a line of small scratch marks along the top of my back bumper and on the underside of my hatch door. This lead me to compare my hatch door with someone who has the same make/model/year. My hatch had less clearance between the hatch and bumper than her hatch. When I took it in, Mike pulled it in the back. Not much time passed, and he brought me back to show me the problem. He said that I probably backed into a snow bank since the December repair, and showed me some scuff marks on the underside of my back bumper. I had not backed into anything, and I'm the only one that drives my vehicle.

Overall, I have been inconvenienced by Mayfield Collision Center. I couldn't watch the repair process online because they didn't keep it regularly updated for my job. They didn't do a walk-through to go over the work on my vehicle when I came to pick it up. I had to vacume up the debris they left behind in my vehicle over my Christmas holiday. I've had to go there more than once to get things addressed that they missed during the repair.

At this point, I'm not 100% confident of the work that Mayfield Collision did on my car.

It turned out fine. They did good work. Everywhere else was pushing non insurance related work back, and they were able to get us in. The cost was lower than the original estimate given. It's nice to have 16 year car that doesn't have rust anymore.

A TOUCH OF CLASS AUTO BODY INC
I took my car there after an accident before Christmas. My only complaint was how long it took. I know that other places I called wouldn't even look at it until well into January, but still it was a long time. After the original estimate they found another problem (bent axle) which my brother-in-law said there was when he changed the tire with a bent rim from the accident so I could drive it that day. Maybe they needed to put it up and get a good look, but that delayed things due to ordering  the other parts and it being the holidays. However, the rental car was covered by the insurance and the employees were all nice.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAD T-JAY'S DO BODY WORK. THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE BEAUTIFUL WORK FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. I ENDED UP PAYING LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE! I WENT TO ANOTHER BODY SHOP ACROSS THE STREET TO COMPARE THE ESTIMATE AND THE OTHER BODY SHOPS' ESTIMATE WAS $159 MORE.
