Electrician reviews in Valley City

    Ber's HVAC, Plumbing & Electric

Things started off great. Called them a few days prior to 7/15/2015. They sent Technician out within a week to give estimate. Technician, Tom came out. He was very punctual, polite, knowledgeable... NO problems at all with Tom. He took measurements... wrote up the estimate on the spot. $2,044.00 total and they would need a full day to complete the job. I agreed and approved it. I was told that the office would call me to set up the install.

A day later I got a call from the office clerk to set the install. We agreed on a date. I told her I planned on using the Angie's List coupon shown on the Angie's list page for a discount on the labor. She stated I could not use the coupon since I did not mention it to them, "Pre Quote". I asked her how and why would I mention the coupon, until I knew what the job was going to cost and which coupon would apply since they offer them for labor, heating/cooling, electrical... She tried to make me understand my need to tell them before a job is quoted. I failed to understand and still don't. She told me she would have somebody call me back to see what they could do.

Two days later, Brian called and left me a message. He stated they would not be able to offer me the Angie's list coupon because the job they quoted me is "to big". He went on to state that the coupons are for residential jobs, but not a job my size. He told me to call with questions. I called back and cancelled the job.

My questions are, why is it necessary to tell them "pre quote" that I may use a coupon?  Second, why did the clerk say the reason was for pre quote reasons and then Brian said is was due to the job being to big? Last, why not offer some discount for a "big job" or industrial job where a large amount of money is being spent?

I called Northern Ohio Electric to come out and look at some electrical problems that I have been having. Don stop by the next day, working around my busy schedule. He  walked with me and explained what the possible problems could be. He explained what could be done to prevent the breaker tripping off. I also wanted a light installed in our shower in the basement. They scheduled the work to be completed two days later. They were polite, explained what they found and how they corrected the problem. They  cleaned up behind themselves.

It was good.  They only came to do one thing and they did it well.  For what he did; he came on time and did the job which is pleasant and did it right.
