Basement Waterproofing reviews in Twinsburg

They were AWESOME!  Covered all of the things in my crawl space that I couldn't take out so they would not get dirty.  Also curtained and taped off crawl space so dust and dirt would not get into the rest of the house!  They were so professional, so polite and did a WONDERFUL JOB!  Looks great!  I would definitely use them again or recommend!

Gil Gotlieb was very responsive to my request to perform waterproofing in basement. His team was fast, efficient and economical. I have used him for mold remediation and waterproofing at one other property before and will continue to use and recommend his service to others.

    Ohio Basement Systems
While the sales pitch was informative and broken down step by step, at the end of the day the item being sold to me was not the appropriate solution to my leaking basement. I had had water leaking into my basement for a couple weeks and needed some ideas and estimates on possible solutions to resolving the issue. While the salesman did walk around the exterior, there was no in depth analysis completed to determine the source of my basement leak. At the end of the presentation, I wanted a chance to review what I had just went over and I was quite glad that I did not make any commitment.
Since I live in a condo, the management association sent out their contractor the following week to determine the source of the leaks. This contractor was actually crawling on his hands and knees around my foundation - which allowed him to find the crack in my foundation that was allowing the water to get into my basement.
The salesman for Ohio Basement Systems had a great sales pitch. But, unfortunately, it was just that, a sales pitch. Sure the sump pump installation would have kept the water away, but, my foundation would have only continued to deteriorate since the actual cause of the leak would not have been addressed.
They are more concerned about sales than actually helping resolve basement issues.

    Ace Basement Waterproofing
Julian is awesome!!  He really knows his stuff and is fantastic to work with.  We have been working with him for two months now trying to determine the best course of action for our basement.  When he came out initially, he scoped our drains for $350.  He found a bunch of gunk (I apologize if I don't get all the technical terms correct) in the footer drain along the back of the house and a spot in the front of the house where the downspout drain was directing under the front porch and had standing water, was warped, and potentially leaking.  He gave us an estimate for approximately $6,000 to dig down and waterproof along the back 2/3 of the house and re-route the drain pipe at the front of the house to avoid going under the front porch.
He also gave some advice for what we could do to determine the moisture issue in our crawlspace.  We knew we had an issue, but couldn't see it because the walls were covered in old insulation.
While we were waiting for the weather to cooperate and Julian to wrap up other jobs to schedule the work on our house, we took the insulation down in the crawlspace and found some places of the crawlspace walls that were definitely seeping.  We also had our gutters cleaned and found they were completely clogged in the back of the house!  We know we definitely need basement repairs-- we just want to make sure we're doing the right things and not doing anything unnecessary.
Julian has been very patient and helpful as we figure this out.  He's very understanding and always answers all of my questions thoroughly.  He never seems pushy or annoyed... which is something I have experienced with other people.
Once work is done on our house, I will be sure to update this review or write another!
Also, I should add, Ace waterproofed my neighbors house over a year ago and they were VERY happy with the results.

I'm not one to give out A's really easily but Bill and his team really did do a fantastic job. I waited several months to write this review b/c I wanted to see if everything would hold up and IT HAS! The only thing that keeps me from giving them an 'A+' is that I had some marks left on my driveway from the tracks on the bobcat (which I need to powerwash to remove) and I had to cut the cleanout down to ground level (which Bill offered to come back and do). I would not hesitate to use Bill again in the future, I've recommended him to others who have used his service and had great experiences.
I really appreciated Bob's honesty and approach. I originally was going to replace the whole line which Bill would have been happy to do. However, he felt doing so would be a waste of money for me. In retrospect, he was right. We addressed the break and haven't had any issues since.
    Nice job, thanks!

Since then I had 4 different companies inspect our house and every one of them advised against installing sump pumps and drainage as it's just an overkill for what we need. The consensus was to seal the cracks. I don't mind spending the money on the service that is needed but unfortunately I've lost my trust in this company after such a wide range of services advised to us. Sounds like the original salesman was after my wallet. It's just pathetic! Im sure there are people falling for this and getting unnecessary services... just like in any other industry driven by the money greed.
Why did I wait so long to review the USA waterproofing? About 3 months ago I have received a sales call from the company offering another round of inspection. I've had 4 other waterproofing companies since the original inspection. I simply couldn't remember the USA waterproofing so I asked for a detailed proposal via email before someone comes over again. The person on the phone was very polite by the way. Well, nothing came in the mail nor email. Today, 5/13/2013, I received a call from a blocked ID on my cell. I usually don't pick up blocked calls and to my surprise it was a sales call from the USA waterproofing notifying me about the manager's special. She didn't even give me a chance to say anything and went on the special details. I had to interrupt the scripted call and ask not to be bothered again. Well, 10 minutes later the same person called my cell with a blocked caller ID and I answered it. Without going into more details, all I can say is that the USA waterproofing may well have the most skilled professionals installing the services being sold, but the sales department definitely needs training

Response to the comment left by the owner:
This is not the matter of what I want, rather what is needed to fix the problem. About a week later I was offered another inspection (which I didn't even request) and when Andrew came, he admitted the initial proposal was way more than what's needed. So, don't tell me that I didn't like the first quote.  Two of your employees gave me opposite opinions on how the problem should be fixed with the price difference of over $10k!!! Your people should be consistent to avoid sending mixed messages.

This company is very popular for good reason. Bill is honest, fair, and thorough. That said, he told me it might be 6 months before he could get to my job. However, I was so impressed by his knowledge, caring, and honesty, that I waited. Fortunately, we had one of the driest winters and springs in years so it was not an issue. They came in and did the work efficiently and effectively and ahead of schedule.

Overall experience was very positive. Contractor stuck to the bid -- finished project within budget. Quality of work was good -- contractor handled the various challenges presented by the project well. The workers were respectful. Work took a little longer than anticipated, but I really appreciated their willingness to take the time to do the project right. Contractor also stands by the work. About a week after the project was complete, I asked them to return to correct a minor problem with a closet door. Most contractors that I've worked with tend to be very unresponsive after they've been paid. This contractor returned to my house the next business day and fixed the problem without additional charge. I would recommend them for future projects.
