I have been going to Dr. Figy for about 10 years. He's very easy to work with. He makes me very comfortable and it seems he is very thorough when it comes to any diagnosis and treatment plan. I have always found his recommendations for specialists to be exceptional as well.

I was going there for maybe a couple years before I finally decided to ask for narcotics b/c the cervical medial branch block and epidurals were not helping much anymore after I had gotten so many, and I couldn't bear the pain anymore. You are required to get evaluated by Stress Care Behavioral Health by a psychologist to determine if you are stable enough to handle taking narcotics I guess. In the short time I was living in Toledo, I didn't know many people and I have no family here. I had no one to babysit my 3 year old daughter. I got stood up by the one person i could find to watch her. There was only a short time table I had to work with b/c my daughter was in preschool and left at 12:30 and got home right after 3pm. They said the evaluation was 2-2&1/2 hrs long. I wouldn't have had time to get back home before she arrived, and I couldn't go afterwards b/c she was not allowed to be with me. I was told by the bus driver that if no one was there to get her, she would be taken back to school and social services would be called. I was already in a custody battle and couldn't risk that. So I kept missing my appt (3 times).
On my next visit  to pain management with Dr William James, he got really nasty with me b/c Stress Care told them I kept missing my appt. Even though I had explained the whole situation, he reprimanded in a very harsh, condescending manner and really upset me and hurt my feelings. Then he kicked me out of their practice, telling me not to come back. He even refused to refill ANY of my medications (I had no refills left at all) even though he knows that you cannot abruptly stop taking some of them without going through painful and miserable withdrawal and that I needed to be weaned off. The last time I did that, I ended up in the ER. He couldn't care less. My cousin, who is a medical assistant, told me that that is against the law and that he had to give me at least 1 refill for everything if I was being discharged. The nurse was even NASTIER to me... downright mean, and also jumped down my throat. It took every ounce of my willpower to not burst into tears. It wasn't my fault and I had tried everything to make those appts. Plus, I couldn't understand how missing an appt w/ a completely different medical facility and dr not associated with them in their practice could get me banned from the pain center. I was so hurt b/c Dr James and always been so kind to me before. They treated me like I was some junkie who missed the appt on purpose b/c I didn't want to have to take a drug test or something, which was absolutely not the case... sneering and snapping and grimming me down. I will NEVER recommend that pain center to ANYONE I know, and will talk them out of going there if they were ever considering it.

I had a good review and check up  with the doc and discussed a situation with the doc... then to find I was billed for diagnostic appointment and they will not change the billing coding on this.  I AM VERY DISSAPPOINTED IN PROMEDICA regarding the business decision  as that was NOT WHAT I HAD went in for   nor made an appointment for.  They refuse to change the coding and  in turm I am making a mark for my integrity  and refusing to pay the charges. This is an  unfair uncalled for business practice and has happened to me before.
The path lab  at Grassy Creek  next door is SLOW and INEFFICIENT...    waited for an hour and  to no avail when there were only a hand full of people waiting. This is not the first time for an overly extended wait  there but id the first time I said  "enough"  and walked out. Dont go there unless you have all day to waste.

Their office is very close.  Scheduling for a general check-up is best done a week to two weeks in advance.  If you are sick, they can get you in pretty quickly. I feel I've been treated well by Dr. Patel and he is competent and thorough in his diagnoses.

Once they'd determined why my back was so sore, they set up an exercise plan. I came in 3 times a week for 2 weeks. After 2 visits, the debilitating pain was gone and by the second week, I'd regained my strength. They counseled me on an ongoing exercise regimen which I embraced. It's been a year and my back rarely bothers me at all now.

I would definitely use them again if I had to have the same procedure done. I like Saint Luke's. The anesthesiologist, I can't remember his name, came in explained everything. The entire staff I'd give them and quot;A'sand quot; all the way. I can't strictly say that I had any problems in there whatsoever and I had the same place I had an MRI done and a bone scan and some other tests and they're a first class hospital.

I had the blood work done and CT scan done. When the results came back, I received a call from his nurse, Amber, telling me that they found a suspicious nodule on my adrenal gland and he wanted me to have an MRI. I asked for specifics and she was very vague, (and rude). I am a two time cancer survivor, so after hanging up with the nurse, I decided to call and ask to speak with Dr. Sherman so he could answer my questions. I was very upset and very scared. When I called and asked to speak with the doctor, I was told by the receptionist that "we don't do that here" but she would try to get him to call me. I received a call back a couple of hours later, after the office had closed, from his nurse, who said that Dr. Sherman would see me AFTER the MRI and answer my questions at that time. She read part of the results to me, in a very impatient tone, never explaining to me exactly what they meant.
Thankfully, I had the results sent to my oncologist's office, who explained the diagnosis to me in detail. She also reassured me that this type of nodule was benign and that I did not need to worry about a recurrence of cancer. That was all I needed to hear. I waited almost one week before my oncologist was able to get, and read the results. To me, it seemed like months. I felt it was very insensitive of Dr. Sherman and his office to take my situation so lightly. Because of this lack of compassion, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I would definitely not recommend Dr. Christopher Sherman to anyone.

Amy and Lindsay helped me to regain strength and range of motion in my shoulder in a short amount of time. They definitely know what they are doing. They are very good listeners, great communicators, and outstanding physical therapists. I highly recommend Sports Care Wildwood.

I received a bill from Toledo Hospital for the blood test, and it was five times more than it should have been for a test done at a non-hospital lab. The facility I went to was not a hospital, and it should not be allowed to charge as if it is a hospital. It is Promedica Lab. It is not owned by Toledo Hospital. Promedica owns Promedica Lab and they also own Toledo Hospital. They are using Toledo Hospital's revenue code to bill insurance at a much higher rate, and I don't think it's fair. Hospitals can charge more because they have a morgue, they are open 24 hours a day, they have an ER... the lab I went to on Woodley Road was in a doctors' office building, and it is strictly 9-5. I'm not getting the benefit of the hospital services but I'm forced to pay hospital prices.

It went very well. The wait was a little long, but they were busy. I did not feel well after they took the sample, and the phlebotomist was very kind and assisted me and gave me time until I felt able to drive home.
