Home Solutions of Maumee Valley INC
Very well! We had a great experience with our remodel through Home Solutions. They are very professional, personable, on time very clean during the entire process and just nice people in general. They showed up on time with a smile on their face. Happy to review what needed to be done and do a walk about if we had concerns they had solutions. We have use Home Solutions in the past and we have then scheduled to do future remodeling work for us!

    Ohio Walk-In Showers LLC
I would like to commend Affordable StepInShower Conversions and its owner, Jim Zuber for the excellent job he did converting our tub/shower with the installation of a Safeway Safety Step.

Like many people my age, I am often challenged in trying to safely life one leg high enough to get in and out of the tub in order to shower, while trying to maintain my balance, and was in constant worry about the consequences were I to fall!

I explored a number of options and ultimately concluded that the installation of a Safeway Safety Step was the best choice for me. Searching the internet, I found and watched the instructional video provided by Safeway to teach contractors how to make the conversion, and I also found many, many stores and contractors now offering the service. While that's great for Safeway's business, I naturally thought: What about the fact that this looks to a layman like me as major surgery upon our built-in tub and shower? I hated to think of the consequences if an inexperienced handyman or a newly trained contractor were to make one false cut and wreck our entire existing installation! I felt that I wanted to have a company with considerable experience and knowledge in performing the conversation and installation.

When I found Jim's Affordable StepInShower website and studied the elaborate detail and explanations presented, and also checked our his reputation, I concluded that here was someone with not only considerable experience and knowledge about Safeway Safety Step Conversions, but also someone who has put a great deal of time and thought into learning and addressing the special safety needs of persons my age. My confidence grew even more as, at his suggestion, I exchanged measurements and photographs of our bath/shower setup with him by phone and by email, particularly when, with no sales pressure at all, he made constructive accompanying safety suggestions, for example also proposing to mount a firm grab bar for getting in and out; and he gave me a definite price with a fixed additional contingent charge only if my tub turned out to be steel or iron, which it was not.

Jim arrived on time on the agreed day, and set to work. He carefully removed the heavy existing glass doors and frame, put them into storage where we designated, eliminated nearly all evidence that they had ever been mounted on the tub, and then proceeded confidently to perform his "surgery" pausing only to call me in to make his suggestions and to get my input as to the exact location of the Safety Step on the tub, the location and height of the recommended grab bar based upon my personal height, arm length, and preferred method for getting in and out of the tub, etc. He worked carefully, cleanly and neatly as the time passed, and had the work site entirely cleaned up before he even called us in to inspect the finished job. He was glad to answer questions, and we were extremely pleased with the finished job.

I am not able to enjoy taking my showers again, getting into and out of the shower safely without having to painfully raise one leg higher than it wants to go, and having a secure grip to eliminate the worry of balancing on one leg in the process. It's a pleasure!

I highly recommend Jim Zuber and his company, Affordable StepInShower Conversions to anyone seeking to enhance the safety of their tub/shower setup. He is a real craftsman in the best sense of tradition. His prices were fair, and his work exemplary.

Do All Glaze and Remodel LLC
Dana was efficient and polite and very committed to doing what I needed.  He came to Toledo to strip and re-glaze my tub.  Once he evaluated the tub he gave me the option of just doing the bottom at less than half the estimate because the rest was in perfect condition.  He said if I wasn't happy with it he would come back and do the entire tub with what I already paid going toward the orginal price quoted.  It looks great and I am very satisfied with the results and the cost. The finish he put on the bottom has a little texture to it so it is more slip resistant yet matches the sides.  I am so glad to have it fixed and don't know why I waited so long.  I just didn't know where to start but the reviews on Angie's list really helped me choose.

    Bruce Tedrow Refinishing & Recoloring
We hired Bruce to refinish a cast iron tub that was original to our house (built in the 1920's).  The tub was in poor shape, to say the
least - dirty and acid-etched.  Bruce showed up on time, worked all day, and we were left with a tub that looks as good as new.  I could not be happier.

    Bath Fitter
Love my new Bath Fitter!  Yes, I suppose there are cheaper places but for the service, professionalism, quality and workmanship, I'm glad I called Bath Fitter.  Life-time warranty is a pleasant  plus, and service response time is excellent. If you sell your home, the new ownerc are able to continue with the lifetime warranty for a small fee.  I can't say enough good about them.

Home Solutions of Maumee Valley INC
Men were on time and gutted the bath - took out all old tub, vanity and toilet. Took out old flooring. Took 3 days to get everything in, drywall, etc. I was pleased with that part.  There were times when they did not have correct information that was given to me. And things took longer than expected. Confusion with paint, etc. But they worked it out. I was told I would not have to pay for a new faucet for the vanity sink because the worker was able to fix the old but I am being charged for a new faucet.

We were told we could take a bath or shower after the 3rd day (could not take shower because they took the old shower rod and did not replace till later) but when we did we found that the drain pipe was not hooked up in the basement and water gushed all over our basement floor. They came out immediately and fixed it. The next day we found that the vanity sink was leaking, called again, they came out and fixed it.  The bathroom door will not shut, needs to be shaved down and the faucet in the tub does not shut off while the shower is going. They said they would set up a time to come out and fix these but have not heard back from them as yet.

My bathroom does look much better and the quality of the products they used were up to standard with the exception of the faucet in the tub.  The men that did the work were very thorough (with the exception of the plumbing) and very careful cleaning up. They tried to make things right when things went wrong, which happens when you rip up a 1949 house. Very nice young men.
