Let me first start with a huge thank you to the sales and install team that I worked with on this project. It was smooth, seamless and quite frankly one of the best experiences I have had when it comes to remodeling. Mary Jo (sales) instantly became part of the family on day one. The kids, our dogs and my wife and I absolutely loved our interactions with her. She was incredibly knowledgable, transparent, and ultra-flexible to ensure she was meeting our needs every step of the way. We could not have asked for more. Ray (carpenter) was one of the most professional contractors I have ever seen. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and incredibly respectful of our time and our property. With the exception of when the countertops came off (only one day), our kitchen was never out of service and I could not have appreciated that more. And the finished product, let's just say it was AMAZING in every way. There was even a point near the end of the job where I accidentally put a ding in one of the brand new doors and Ray saved us from a divorce (joking) by instantly taking the door to the shop & having it repaired as if nothing ever happened. The folks from Rock Solid were amazing as well - one day in and out and we had beautiful new granite one the amazing base that Ray created for us. We noticed a small discrepancy in the finished product, but without hesitation they came out and fixed it on the spot. Again, amazing service. If I were to ever do a job like this again I would hire this whole crew in an instant. The people were great, the price was right on, and the finished product was more than I could have hoped for. Thanks American Wood Reface for restoring my faith in humanity and brining our vision to life.

Severens construction has helped me with a few projects (plumbing/electrical/remodeling) He has always shown up on time, he has never left a mess, and his work always exceeds my expectations. I have and would recommend him for any job you have around the house.

great! reasonable estimate, actual price was in line with it, workers were prompt, work was solid. we also used them for a masonry project, and intend to use them to install all new windows throughout the house. At this point, we're pretty much going to use them for everything. Got their name from 2 coworkers, who have also used them, and been happy with the work

Starting with the estimate process - Steve Boyd and his entire crew were extremely professional.   The communication was consistent leading up to, and during the project which took just under a week total.   The quality of their work is tremendous.   The young men who worked on our project were very skilled, very polite and punctual.   They tolerated two dogs and constant summer time traffic with our two boys and their friends.    They cleaned up each day and they did things the RIGHT WAY.  They could have taken the path of least resistance on some of the modifications, but they went above and beyond to do things in a way that they themselves would want the work done.    While they were not the lowest estimate I had ( only reason for the B in the price category), they were absolutely worth the cost.   I am a firm believer in getting what you pay for.   We hired Boyd based on their Angie's List review, and it has justified our membership and validated the review process.    I will recommend them to all of my friends and neighbors and will use them for some upcoming projects!

DLP did an excellent job planning the deck and planning the build process.  It was not their fault the project had to be cancelled.  The planning process was professionally managed and allowed lots of feedback during the design process.  Jason Powell was particularly helpful during the design, and his suggestions were well thought out and helpful.

First day or so, good, then when the sub floor was installed it was not level, requested a smooth ceiling, came home from work and the ceiling was textured, the salesman contact  statement  was : It's not even done yet and that's how we do our ceiling's!
explanation from the foreman was: because of the pre-existing ceiling it had to be textured and the floor the same as far as leveling, the owner(OHI) made the statement in order to do a smooth ceiling it would've had to been gutted, I stated, then why wasn't I told this before you accepted the job, there was no apparent answer accept well we've gone this far, don't worry we will make you happy.
1.The back splash does not meet the bottom of the raised counter, but according to the O. H. I., that's the way it should be.
    2. The main counter top is high  on the rear left corner by a .5" therefore throwing off the level and the so called "that's the way it should be" gap between the raised counter and the main counter back splash, O.H.I. stated " Well we can't take it out now", so they put a black molding under the raised counter to cover the issue up.
    3. The right side  top cabinets are not squared to the soffit
    4. the NEW counter tops have minor scratches
    5. They are in the process of replacing three of the cabinet doors that are of poor quality
    6. Refinished wall surface next to sink is poor and obvious.
    7. One day after textured ceiling was completed it was cracking, repaired upon request
    8. Clear silicone on counter top seams is not clear.
    9. I requested that they should purchase a dust bag for the vacuum they were using because my other two rooms with antique furniture was covered with dust along with everything else
Overall every time I questioned them about  the issues at hand they preferred to make excuses instead of sticking to O.H.I.'s
     policies.
My impression of O.H.I.  as far as a motto is, promise just about everything to get the job, rush to get it done, and have the home owner sign the documents and pay you before the owner really  thinks about   the final outcome
I did ask the owner of O.H.I., before I signed and paid him, do you think your workmanship justifies this amount of money I'm paying you, his answer was "somebody else would charge more", and yes I think it does.

Ray was hired to remove a wall between two bedrooms and drywall finish it after the removal; to enlarge a closet door opening; to hang bifold doors on a closet opening; and to hang mini blinds. He said he would fix a leaky outside spigot for no charge.  He quoted me a fair price for all this work to be done.

I signed a contract on July 13, 2013 and gave him a $700 deposit.  The work was to be completed within 30 days.

After three weeks I repeatedly tried to reach Ray since he had not bothered to contact me.  When I finally got a hold of him he set a date of August 14, 2013 to BEGIN the work. That was 31 days after the initial contract and a day after the work was supposed to be completed.  He agreed to come over after I told him I would like my money back and to tear up the contract.  He informed me that he did not refund money.  I expressed concerned to him that I was getting ripped off and that he just dishonestly took my money.  He convincingly assured me that he was an "honest Christian man" and that was not the case and that he would begin the work the following week.

On August 14, 2013 Ray came to my home to work (while I was at my work). When he removed the wall, Ray threw the beams and drywall out a bedroom window into a pile on my patio.  THe screen in that window got bent off the track and needed to be straightened to be closed. He left wires hanging and exposed, along with the hole for the cold air return opening in my floor. He did not remove any of the debris; it was left in the pile he made.  None of the dust mess he made was cleaned up. My carpeting got filthy from that mess and from apparantly unwiped filthy shoes.

I found out from my neighbor that Ray and his helper were loud and unprofessional. This was another red flag!

Following that day he did not return calls or text messages. Then he suddenly sent a text message to me saying he would "hopefully" be able to work some more one day the following week, that was right before Labor Day weekend.  My reply to him was the words "Very dissappointing".

As of this date (September 15, 2013) Ray has informed me that he will not complete the work because he was offended when I made that comment "very dissapointing" to him.

Now after 63 days I am left with an unfinished removed wall, drywall pieces continuously chipping away, hanging wires, a hole opening in my floor, an unlevel floor, no closet work done, no blinds hung, and a leaky faucet.

I ignorantly gave that man $700 to do something I could have done myself!

Now I have to hire someone else to do what I am not able to do - - to complete the work that Ray was hired to do and to clean up and repair the mess and destruction that Ray White left at my home.

I wish I had joined Angie's List before I hired Ray White of Superman Services. Mine makes five complaints in a five month period. Clearly Ray is a Super SHAM Service!

Now I am trying contact Ray to return the portion of money he owes me since removing the wall is clearly not a $700 job.  I have estimates for removing a wall so I hope he does the right thing; but I have my reservations since his track record clearly speaks for itself.  It seems with enough deposits and full payments for unfinished work, Ray manages make a living.  This is absolutely unprofessional, bad business, and totally unacceptable.

I will be contacting the BBB about this.  Hopefully I will not have to go to Small Claims Court to get my money back.

Whatever you do - DO NOT HIRE RAY WHITE OF SUPERMAN SERVICES FOR ANYTHING!!!

Don't make the same mistake we made!

I contacted Fred to get an estimate to build and install a more ornate fireplace mantel and convert a built-in shelf area to an entertainment center. Fred came out, thoroughly analyzed the situation and came up with a design to accomplish what we needed. He came out an additional two or three times before the project started to make sure all measurements were right and that we were happy with the design. On site, he was clean and neat. The place was always left in the same condition as he found it. I have never dealt with a contractor with such attention to detail. While the project took a little longer than I initially expected, this was caused by Fred wanting to make sure everything was perfect, and there's nothing wrong with that. I have a perfectionist personality, so watching Fred sweat the small details like brush marks was refreshing. His final product is top notch. His attention to detail results in a quality product that will be a centerpiece in our home for years to come. If you want quality carpentry and woodworking rather than just a passable job, Fred is the man for you.

They work with you. Any changes I wanted to make, they made immediately. I was kept informed every step of the way. They adapted everything to my needs. Very good people to work with. Two men did all the work; it wasn't subcontracted to this person or that. I would recommend them.
