My daughter had gone through many tests over the last couple of years, with trips to multiple doctors, neurologists, rheumatologists, and internists. We were unable to get into Dr. Zangara, and scheduled with a different neurologist, who was very nice, but unable to diagnose her. Not blaming that doctor, but once we were able to get into Toledo Neurologists, Dr. Zangara, he prescribed the tests that finally diagnosed her with MS. He has been very honest, informative, and caring. When my daughter's medicine was not working, he immediately called her back into the office to discuss an alternative treatment. I would recommend Dr. Zangara to anyone who is struggling with neurological disorders. As mentioned above, it is difficult for new patients to get in as he is very busy, but once you are a patient of his, they are very accomodating.

Dr. Weintraub was more interested in hearing himself speak than in what the patient (I) had to say.  He would repeatedly cut me off in the middle of the sentence.  What hurt my treatment was Dr. James Weintruab's ego.  When I lost my job in the Ann Arbor area and I found a neurologist near my home in the Toledo area, I needed a referral to see him for treatment of a bulging disk in my cervical spine.  I followed the necessary steps and contacted Dr. Weintraub for the referral.  He refused because he stated that he did not know this physician in the Toledo area.  I did not expect him to know of him due to the distance.  I did, however, provide the telephone nurse with the Toledo neurologist's name and office and the care network in which he worked out of, which is very well known in this area. Fortunately, the Toledo neurologist was much more compassionate than Dr. Weintraub and agreed to see me anyway.  It's nice to see that not all physician's behave that way.  I also had an extremely difficult time obtaining MY medical records and MRI disc in order to see the new neurologist after MHNI knew that I was going to be leaving their office, after Dr. Weintraub refused to give me the referral.  I called several times.  My bill was paid in full.  I finally just had to show up for them because they were obviously not going to play fair and according to the law, those were my records and I had a right to them.  I have to say, University of Michigan comes with a stellar reputation and I am extremely surprised at this kind of behavior.  When they found out that I needed to see a doctor closer to home, the first thing they asked me was, "don't you like us anymore?'.  I thought that was a very immature thing to ask, not to mention extremely unprofessional.  It's none of anyone's business why I choose a medical professional, however, to ask a question of that nature is a little surprising given the reputation and quality one would expect of U of M.  Then, the behavior that has followed is nothing short of extreme unprofessionalism compared to small children whose egos have been hurt.  I will never recommend them to anyone in the future.

They could not pin point what caused the stroke and he was sent to a nursing rehab center to continue his medical care.

I was taken back to a room immediately and seen by the doctor within 15 minutes. I always schedule an appointment first thing in the morning, so I have never had to wait. I can't speak to afternoon appointments. Dr. Zanagara answers all my questions and never seems rushed. I am very happy with his care and follow up with my illness.
