Lighting Installation reviews in Sunbury

BE WARNED!!!! This company takes no responsibility for its employees! The owners son, showed up in their company van, provided estimates on their company letter head, and proceeded to take off with over $3000 in payment needed for "supplies to complete the job", with NO WORK DONE! The owners son has now been in and out of jail for child support and continues to promise he will pay me back, and hasnt. PDQ Electric says it's not their problem. The owner doesnt even have the decency to call me back... I have to continue to talk to the receptionist (who is the owners daughter).

I called this afternoon to get an estimate on replacing two toggle light switches with Honeywell programable timers.  I had purchased the necessary timers and switch plates but wasn't confident I would be able to install them.  I spoke with Don, who quoted an $85 service call for work being done in approximately 30 minutes.  He could also have his son over to do the work within the hour.  He was correct on all statements.  His son was here when promised and completed the work quickly for the quoted price.  His son was very professional and personable.  I was very happy with the service and love that it was provided by a small family-owned company. I will certainly call PDQ for any future electrical services.

    Baker Group Remodeling
Phil Baker and the rest of the crew with the Baker Group were amazing! Very nice, straight to the point, professional, punctual, and communicated often. I started working on finishing my basement several months ago. My goal was to finish a bedroom and then complete the rest after that. After I got most of the way through the bedroom, I decided it would take me forever to complete the job. I am getting married in June and didn't need the extra stress. I was very hesitant with hiring someone to do the job since I consider myself pretty handy and like to do things my way. I called Phil and explained to him what I was looking to get done. When he came over, we went over the layout and design. He immediately noticed that my original design cut the basement up too much, and would have violated some building codes, so we worked together on an alternate design. I appreciated that he didn't hold back and told me what he would do. On several occasions he gave me recommendations, including keeping me safe with building codes and electrical codes. Overall, he said I was the customer and he will do what I want, but didn't hold back when necessary.

They started the work promptly. The basement is about 1400 sf and the finished job has two rooms, an office area with closet, a large living area, two decent size storage areas, a bathroom with shower, and a brewery/kitchen space. It literally took him and two other guys 20 hours to completely frame the entire basement. They used lasers to make sure everything was lined up correctly. The framing was perfect. Next, Phil hired an electrician to do the electrical work. It took the electrician about 12 hours of work over two days to finish the electrical. Phil and the electrician worked with me every step of the way to determine where I wanted outlets, switches, can lights, and basically the lighting zones should go and how they should be controlled. They did more than I expected in this area. After the electrical work,  his crew came in and prepped for drywall. They moved the heating/cooling vents to places that made more sense and added a air return as well. I wasn't expecting that and it turned out to be a bonus for me. This also gave me time to do the plumbing. Finally, he hired a company to do the drywall work. They worked extremely quick and the result is amazing. It took two days to hang 3000 sq ft of drywall. After that, it took one day to tape, I believe 3 days for the mudding, a few hours to do the knockdown ceiling, and a few hours to sand and completely clean up.

Overall, the basement looks amazing, the entire experience was amazingly easy and flexible, and the best money I ever spent. Thank you Phil and team! I will definitely recommend you to everyone looking for work to get done.

    Roof Top Solutions LLC
These guys were brilliant! To install the semi-flush ceiling light in one of our bedrooms they had to measure the exact spot in the ceiling to center the hole.  Then they had to crawl through the attic to cut the hole and run the wires.  We wanted the wires run to a light switch that was being used for something else at the time so they had to run the wires through a very small pathway making it difficult for them.   They never once complained about my request.  They had spot on precision on the placement of the light and I love it!
The first 5 pot lights were installed in our great room.  The ceiling is a high ceiling that is made up of beautiful cedar wood so any mistake on their part would have been a disaster!  They measured precisely and then had to crawl in a very small space in our attic to drill the holes, run the wire and install the pot lights.  It was a tedious process where the one man had to lay flat while laying across beams so as not to fall through the ceiling.  It had to be very uncomfortable!  Once again the work was spot on!  Running the wiring was very tricky but they got it done and connected the wires to a dimmer switch and I am elated with my new lighting in what had previously been a very dark room!  And to be able to adjust those lights is amazing!
The next 2 pot lights were installed into my kitchen ceiling, also made of beautiful cedar wood.  Once again they had to make precise measurements and run the wiring and install the lights in our tiny attic.  I actually took pictures so I could show people how this poor guy had to lay to install all of these lights!  Perfection once again.
And finally, the easy job.  They replaced an old chandelier with a new one in our dining area.  We couldn't be happier with their work.
This is the 3rd project we've had them do the work on and we've already contracted them for a 4th job.
Even though their name is Roof Top Solutions they are general contractors and they provide several other services.
I also like that this is a family run business and they take great pride in their work!

    Waibel Electric
contacted them to provide an estimate to install electrical outlets in the basement.  I took him around and showed him exactly what i wanted and he took notes.  When the estimate came over, there were supposed to be two - one with just the outlets and one with outlets plus lighting.  Also, the number of outlets and their locations were not correct.  I contacted Waibel to provide the two different estimates I had asked for as well as to correct the number of outlets and their location.  Second attempt at an estimate still was not correct even though i provided a detailed drawing of the floorplan.  I thought the third time would be the charm, but unfortunately it was not.  I decided not to use Waibel because I felt if they couldn't get the estimate right, I just wasn't comfortable having them attempt the work.

    Village Handyman
Fred arrived during the scheduled time of arrival and went right to work. He removed the previous security light and replaced it with the new one in about 20-25 minutes.
Fred is easy to work with and is clearly very competent and multi-skilled judging from all of the positive reviews on Angie's List. That is why I called The Village Handyman.

Everything went fine.  Work was completed in the estimated time frame, old materials were taken away, price was right on the estimate, both Mike and his helper were very polite.  There was a problem with the timer for the hot water tank in that it was not connected correctly.  The next morning when we realized we had no hot water I called Mike.  They should up around 4:30 as he said he would and switched two wires.  All went well and we had hot water again.
I would call Mike again should I need ny additional electrical work done.

All workers were professional and polite.? Some of the work was"sub-contract" work with other companies.? There were some issues with the backsplash tiles, when the tile installer picked up the order (from another provider) the order was short.? Tom was diligent in securing the remaining tiles so the job was only delayed for a short period of time.? There was a section of paneling on the back side of the peninsula which we also had Tom replace.? They did a great job matching the stain of the existing wood and the wood panel?made a definite improvement to the appearance of the peninsula.? When Tom came out to inspect the final work, he noticed some scratches in the granite that had occurred prior to, or during, installation.? He contacted the company that did the installation and they came out and inspected the damage.? They, in turn, contacted another company for repair work.? The repairs were done to our satisfaction.? We are very satisfied with the products used and the appearance of our kitchen.? We would use this contractor again.

They were excellent, nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. They were an absolute pleasure to have in our home. They were timely and cleaned up after themselves. As a matter of fact, we are having them come back soon to do some more work for us. We would recommend them to anyone.

JK worked around my schedule to meet at our home and discuss a plan and options.  He came back out to the house review a well diagrammed plan and estimates.  He provided options for LEDS and non leds and ideas to save some $ as well as upgrade.  He was more thorough than the competition and offered the most reasonable price.  He was very professional and we would use him again without hesitation.
