    Airfast Heating & Cooling
The technician arrived within the time frame I was quoted.  Even called to say he was on his way.
Stated that his report would be turned in on Friday, 6/17, since it was 5 p.m. on Thursday.  Warranty
company has been telling me that Airfast will submit the work by the end of the day.  Five days later
I'm still waiting.  I have paid my deductible to Airfast.  They have just started fixing appliances.  I hope
anyone needing furnace repair in the middle of winter or air conditioner repair in the middle of a hear
    wave uses someone else.

    The Appliance Guy Service LLC
Our 15 year old Maytag dryer stopped working on Thursday. We sent emails
to multiple Angie's list providers and Andrew was the first to respond
at 6:30AM on Friday.  He was able to come out on Friday, fixed our dryer
with parts he had on his truck and was on his way. This was the perfect
repair experience with fast, professional and courteous service. If we
need an appliance repaired in the future, there is only one call we need
    to make.

This was a great experience from start to finish. Our dishwasher stopped working mid-cycle, creating quite the inconvenience for a household of 6. Andrew came out for a service call two days later and quickly assessed the problem. He took the time to explain the issue and provided an estimate of the cost. As we talked things over, my daughter came into the room and shared her excitement at finding several new quarters with states she hadn't yet collected (she is collecting all 50 states). Without missing a beat, Andrew reached into his pocket and gave my daughter 2 quarters for her collection (states she didn't have). This act of genuine kindness on top of the professionalism and good natured attitude Andrew displayed throughout the service call ensured that I would not only do business with him for that service call, but for any other needs we have in the future. He promptly fixed our dishwasher and secured a loyal customer in the process. I highly recommend!

    E.S.P. Total Care
It costs me $400 a year, and it covers all of your lines, like your water, electric, gas, your sewer, your appliances like water heater, washer, dryer, freezer, and if something goes wrong, they send somebody out. It is more of a service contract. I live in an old house, so I always get my years worth. One year, the pump went out on the washing machine, and a part went out on a boiler, so I am sure it was over $1000. I have the service now and will get it for next year too. The price stands out, because I have a boiler, and if you could pay $15 or $20 a month for a big furnace repair, where someone can come out and pay for it, it is a good deal. You get it through Columbia Gas, but the gas company isn't part of it. The gas company recommended it, and it came in my bill, so I signed up for it. Maybe it is something they recommend, because I have a friend who is not in the Columbia Gas area, and she has it. When you have a problem, you call ESP, and they have a list of people that they send out. You can ask for somebody, but if you don't, they will send somebody. A business can join them, but they have to give paper work to join, as E.S.P. will not just add anybody they can't trust. You don't have to get everything. You can get appliances, or you can get furnace and air conditioner, but I get everything because it is cheaper. Before my mom passed away, I went to her house where we were having a problem with the kitchen stove, and they came out and replaced all gas lines. Then we had a problem with the line to the main street, and they came and replaced all the lines, so that year, she got her years worth.  They have always come out and fixed my stuff. If I called now, there is still time today for them to send somebody out. I think the price is a good deal. They have hundreds of people, so they always find somebody to come out, it is not like you call one company, and they say they can't come out until Monday. They keep calling until they find somebody. The people they have sent out have all been professional.

    The Applianceman Service
Repair person was professional and communicated the issue and repair well to me. They were punctual and called ahead when they were on their way. They saved me money compared to another quote that I received. The initial estimate cost was more but in the end it was worth it.
He provided part numbers for the suspected faulty parts so I could research. He ordered all the parts that may have been the issue and then did not need the more expensive parts, so I was only charged for what was required.
    Quick and honest.

    BJ Appliance Service
The appointment got off to a rough start as the repairman's vehicle broke down first thing in the morning. I was told he would be there between 8a-12noon. Noon came and I had not heard anything, so I called. They explained what happened and said he would be there in a couple of hours. It would have been nice to be given a head's up. Once the repairman arrived, he was courteous and cleaned out my dryer vent from the outside as well as from the inside, also cleaning the inside of the dryer. I was told everything else checked out, although I didn't actually see him check anything. All in all, it was an OK visit and would probably give them another call.

    Crum's Appliance Repair
Because we moved to a new house, our prior appliance repair company was no longer available in the new area, and we needed to find a new repair company. I found Crum's in the yellow pages and saw that they were located near us. Our 25 year old electric Maytag dryer was making a squealing noise when it started. We thought it might make sense to call a repairman BEFORE the dryer actually broke and we were stuck without a working machine. (We had used Crum's once before and they were very good - the first time the repairman came out on a Saturday, diagnosed the problem, and had to go get the part and come back. He then fixed the washer with no extra charge for Saturday work.) This time the repairman called and asked if he could come earlier because of a later cancellation, and this was not a problem at all. Anyway, when he came out he could tell by the sound what the problem was. He opened up the machine and the problem was exactly what he said. Fortunately he had the needed part in his truck and the failing part was replaced. The bad noise is gone, and the dryer runs good as new. We love our Maytags. We have had great service and fair pricing from Crum's 2 out of 2 times.

    Jim Mayhorn Appliance Service
I called Jim on Tuesday evening and he scheduled an appointment for 8:30am the following morning.  For some reason, the fridge started working late that night.  Jim arrived at my door right on time and got straight to work.  However, because the fridge seemed to be working fine all night, he wasn't able to properly identify an issue and didn't want to perform potentially costly and useless repairs.  He did check the compressor and an overload capacitor (I'm not certain of the correct names here) and said they appeared to be working properly.  He checked the condenser coils and found they were very dirty and so he thoroughly cleaned them.  He explained that his service call fee was good for 10 days and if the issue was going to resurface that it would do so within the next 10 days.  That means that any return trip in the next 10 days would only result in charges related to parts and labor related to a repair.  I agreed with his assessment and was very pleased with the service he provided that day.

Unfortunately, the same issue returned on Thursday.  I called him Thursday evening and we scheduled another appointment for Friday morning at 8:30am.  Again, he was very punctual and arrived right on time.  This time the fridge hadn't been working properly all night and he was able to see evidence pointing to an issue with the compressor.  Unfortunately for me a compressor repair would be too costly when compared to the value of this fridge or a replacement fridge and he agreed with this assessment.  Considering his 10 day service fee policy and the fact that no repairs were performed during this second visit, there was no fee due for this second visit.

Also, unrelated to the issue he was called for, he offered a couple of recommendations regarding the refrigerator's water supply line.  He explained that he doesn't do plumbing work, but felt he should mention these recommendations as a precaution to help prevent leaking and water damage.

I am very pleased with his service, candor, and advice.  He was clean and pleasant to have in my home.  I will definitely call again and highly recommend his services.

    Crum's Appliance Repair
It is two brothers that are the repairmen, and they are both really nice. They tell me everything that is going on. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

    Dayco Appliance Parts
The appliance company sometimes charges 3, 4 and 5 times more than what the part actually costs. I have been able to save money by buying the part here and having someone install it. I spent probably about $30. It is a like a store, but is a store more for appliance repair people and not for the average person. If I need to know part number, I need to know what it is that I actually need, but the people there are very, very helpful.
