    Cause For Paws
They're a really good organization. I was impressed because before they adopt a dog to you they come to your house and do a check and visit. They ask why and what are your plans. They also make sure you have a fence. They have a contract you have to read and sign saying if you give the dog back within 6 months there's some financial penalties. They're a first class organization. They're careful about the owners they select.

    Columbus Dog Connection.com
I liked the experience; they are wonderful. The dogs originally were placed with foster parents so we adopted them from a foster parent. It cost me about $150 each to adopt the dogs and Columbus Dog Connection does its' best. They are a great organization and I can't enough good about them. The quality of service is great and I recommend them to anybody who is looking for an animal.

    Columbus Dog Connection.com
We saw puppies online and contacted Columbus Dog Connection 10 years ago.  We went over to the house where the puppies were being fostered.  Our dog was part of a litter of 7 puppies and we were able to meet the mother of the puppies.  We were impressed that our puppy was already being trained to sit and trained to be housebroken by 8 weeks.  He was neutered before we got him and had his initial shots.  A couple came over to interview us and make sure that we would make good owners--that we knew what we were getting into.  Our dog ended up to be twice the size that we expected, but he was very easy to house train and has never had an accident since.  We were impressed that training had already begun on the puppies, and that they were very well taken care of at the foster house.  We are glad that we adopted our dog from Columbus Dog Connection.

    Cozy Cat Cottage
I already have 11 cats, so adopting another is not an option at this time. I just stopped in to purchase gifts for myself or friends from their Whiskers Boutique. The minute I walked into Cozy Cat I was jealous because it smelled great! It put my smelly 11 cat home to shame. When I first walked in, the thing that struck me is how happy all the cats were. Whether they are in the front area or the back, there are no cages. It seemed to me that these cats that had previously had a stroke of bad luck, had found themselves in the best possible environment for a new lease on life. All the Cozy volunteers were very friendly, even though I was not there to adopt a cat. I spoke with many gals at length about our mutual love of cats. It was a very pleasurable experience and I will be visiting more often now. They also make their own cat nip pillows that are only 3 for $5! If I had a vacancy in my own cat household, I would absolutely adopt a kitty from Cozy Cat Cottage!

    Cozy Cat Cottage
After the death of our beloved 18 year old cat Stitches we decided the house was too quiet We went looking for two male kittens to adopt. Our first stop was Cozy Cat Cottage in Powell. There were many cats to choose. The facility was clean and the cats looked happy This facility also provides cats to rescue centers like PetSmart which is where we found our two new kittens. These cats are healthy, happy, fun, and loving cats. They are neutered, microchipped, and have all their shots! Very happy with the adoption!

The only thing I didn't like was that they changed the dog's name once it was taken in. Once we used his previous name, he perked right up. The people were very nice though! Our dog had all of his shots and he was neutered. They also microchipped him - however, it was with a different company than I typically use.

    Colony Cats & Dogs
Colony Cats and Dogs is a great organization. They go all out to help cats and dogs in Central Ohio. Their volunteers are extremely didicated too! I will always support them.

    Cozy Cat Cottage
The entrance of the Cozy Cat Cottage is vaguely set up like a living room and has 15-20 free roaming adult cats scattered around. Further into the building is a back room full of free roaming adult cats and two aisles of kittens in large plexiglass cages. A speaking doorbell announces when someone enters the building and we were greeted by one of the employees. I don't remember the woman's name, but she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Nearly every cat we picked up, she knew it's name, backstory and personality by memory. Those she didn't know, she asked one of the other employees who could provide the information. We spent about 45 minutes walking around petting and holding cats and seeing how they reacted to our daughter. Ultimately after being unable to determine what cat would be suitable for our family and friendly to our year and a half old, we asked for a recommendation. She suggested two different cats that would be friendly and gentle with our daughter. After briefly holding one, we decided to take him home (our daughter's brief attention span had long since run out). After filling out the paper work, which was about 3 pages of questions and promises (about 15 minutes total) and paying, they put our cat in our carrier, gave us a days' worth of food, a cat toy and some cat nip and said good bye to him. You can tell they really cherish the cats. Be prepared for some probing questions and slightly jaded attitudes when filling out the paperwork. I think several of the employees are a bit frustrated by people who have mistreated cats or brought them back for questionable reasons. One final note to keep in mind is that they require you to take your cat to a vet for a routine checkup within 5 days of taking it home. PS. The reason for a and quot;Band quot; rating on price is that the cost for adult cats is a bit more than some other shelters and we had to pay for a $10 microchip that we weren't aware about. But needless to say, the service and quality environment is well worth the slight cost difference (and it's still less expensive than some other shelters in town).

    Franklin County Dog Shelter
Franklin County Dog Shelter had a nice selection of dogs and a very clean facility. They were pretty honest about what the issues might be and the history of the dog. She's a Miniature Pinscher. You can just go in and pick the dog out. She's already microchipped and spayed and we just paid $117. They were real slow on the response but again they got a lot of pets.
