QPS Chimney Contractors Landscaping & Snow
Work was done as promised. Complications for firebox rebuild were discovered and remedied without additional cost. Repairs to the chimney liners was done much less expensively than I thought possible without tearing into the brickwork. It seems that the owner treats his workers with respect. There is a team atmosphere on the job. He has more long-term employees than I have seen in companies that hire tradesmen.

    Koontz Construction
I highly recommend Koontz Construction. We had a number of companies come out to look at a pretty significant crack in our brick on the corner of our house, and Dale from Koontz Construction was the only one who took the time to discuss the possibilities of what could be causing it - and suggested doing some investigating of the issue by digging down on the side of the house to determine better if its a structural issue or not, which if not then just needs some minor re-sealing - instead of just assuming it was worst-case scenario and going with the most costly option. The whole process with them has been great - extremely responsive with emails/calls (didn't leave us hanging with no responses like many other companies), on-time for the day of the job, kept us informed throughout the process, and turns out it doesn't appear to be a structural issue - so after resealing the crack, advised what to look for to determine if it starts cracking/pulling away again, to then at that time look at rebuilding the brick corner on the house. He easily could have told us it was structural and charged us a large amount to rebuild, but he didn't and looked at the project as if it was his own house in what he suggested to do based on what he found. Can't say enough about how well this all went, and would hire them again in a heartbeat for other projects going forward.

Advance Masonry & Full Chimney Service Inc
Tony from Advanced Masonry was prompt, courteous and professional. A very fun guy to talk to. I knew I had a good contractor when Tony promptly returned my call from Florida, where he was tending to some damage from a recent hurricane, to let me know that he would give me a quote when he got back. His written quote detailed exactly what was to be done. The crew that did the work was excellent. They were very professional and I don't remember seeing them take any breaks. They took one day to tear down the two story chimney and remove the debris and two days to rebuild it from the ground up. All this in pretty cold weather. They also did some additional patching on my foundation at no additional cost. The work site was cleaned up very well and the chimney looks beautiful. I couldn't be happier. A very professional contractor.

    Mister Mason
I hired them to point tuck a chimney on 3/8/17 an received an email asking for days available. Then I didn't hear anything from them. A month later a called and received a call back later that day and they explained that they didn't have any other jobs in my area and they liked to group jobs in areas to save on driving. They said they would be out within the next few weeks. Another month passes and I call them, they tell me that they will get out that weekend or week and get the job done. No one came out and / or did any work. It has now been 3 months, all contact with them has been initiated by me and so far every promise made to me has been broken. The work has not been completed despite paying already through Angies List.

    Frank Scherer
I have an outdoor stone fireplace in my back yard.  One of the limestone pieces that frame the opening was loose and I used Angie's list to search for a vendor to reattach the stone.  Mr. Scherer lived close by so I called and left a message.  This was in December.  After approximately two weeks with no reply, I called and left another message.  A few days later, a lady returned my call, took my contact information, and indicated someone would be in touch about looking at the fireplace and getting an estimate.  It is now early February and I have not heard back.  There have been several warm days when this repair could have been done.
I located another vendor who was able to complete the repair.  He was recommended by a neighbor.  He was responsive, on time, and offered fair prices.

QPS Chimney Contractors Landscaping & Snow

    Great Service.

Rob came out on time as scheduled previously.  He looked at my fireplace, went over what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions.  Laid out a drop cloth and cleaned the chimney from the roof, then scoped and vacuumed the inside fire box.  In total it took about an hour, and Rob thoroughly reviewed a few issues that he saw and provided a quote for follow on masonry work.

    Would definitely use again.

    Frank Scherer
We started looking into rebuilding our chimney in the fall of 2011.
Frank's was one of 3 estimates. It was a little difficult getting his
estimate, as he was very busy in that time frame and we had to call a few
times. With the good weather this spring, we were ready for the job.
Frank was very responsive in getting back to us and scheduling the work.
He was able to start the week after we called. The job took about 4
days. He took care during tear down so that he wouldn't damage the
firebox. Fortunately, that was in good condition and no extra work was
required. He suggested a variety of brick colors that we otherwise would
not have considered. The work crew was punctual, friendly and
professional. The chimney looks wonderful. Great clean-up too.

    Drytech Waterproofing
Kevin, Dan, and Dave did a great job. They answered all my questions and I felt completely satisfied that the job was being done properly. Thanks to the reviews here on Angie's List, I was confident in hiring them. I am also going to have the guys put up a deck for me in the spring and some basement remodeling.

Great Lakes Chimney Masonry & Restoration
We had two chimneys that had been painted by the previous owner of our home.  They were deteriorating and looked horrible.  Jim Dillinger came out to give us an estimate to repair them.  He suggested resurfacing them with stone and we agreed.  The result is beautiful.  I can't believe the difference in how our home looks.  There was also a brick wall in front of our garage that was also painted and deteriorating.  We are planning on siding our house, but we weren't sure what to do about the wall.  Jim suggested that we tear down the wall and then side the garage.  So, that's what we did.  We are very happy with the results.
