    The mower sat out all winter because we couldn't get it to roll, everything was frozen.  Bob picked it up within 24 hours of me calling and had it completely repaired and returned by the end of the week.  Everyone at his business was friendly and cooperative.  After using the mower for the first time, the mower stopped operating.  I called Bob and he picked it up that day.  The problem was a switch and was unrelated to the first incident.  He picked it up, replaced the switch and dropped the mower back off for no charge.  I would and will be using them again.

    Sal is old school, honest and upfront. He will take time to explain to you what needs to be done and why. He provides the type of service you seldom see anymore. For small engine service & equipment repair you do not need to look any further. I will contact Sal in the future and I would strongly recommend him to friends and family.

    "I'll give you a good price if you give me a good review on Angie's list."   Maintenance and repair was done in a timely fashion and I had my snowblower back at home before the first snow.  However, the repair cost $270 almost half of what I paid for it NEW.  And still today the snowblower works, but it doesn't clean the snow like it did before.  But most of all, Bob had an attitude that made me feel as if he was doing me a favor when in fact he was doing the work I could probably have done somewhere else at a lower price.  Don't get me wrong, the snowblower works, and it was done promptly.  But I didn't care for the attitude nor the price. 
    And I won't go back.  My price should have nothing to do with Angieslist.....up or down.  And for customer like me that is loyal and keeps people like him in business, I didn't think he was very appreciative.  BTW, I have used many Angieslist providers and have never left a negative review.

    My daughter and I brought in Toro lawnmower on Saturday to have cable replaced (at that point Mike was condascending) was told - would look at it on Monday and call me - on Monday I called late in the day - was told by Mike needs cable would be Wednesday or Thursday - Mike calls back a few minutes later and informs me cable is on backorder and would not have until following Monday (this would be one and a half weeks he would have my mower).  I asked if there were any other places to get the "backorder" cable and was informed - no.  I was then quoted $98.00 to replace the cable.  I informed Mike I felt he was ripping me off and taking advantage of me and that I was not happy with his service, that one and a half weeks is unacceptable to have my lawnmower to replace a basic cable.  This is a very common toro recycler lawnmower - nothing fancy - parts are easy to get.  
    I then called another repair shop, was told he did not have cable in stock would get it the following day.  The cable on my mower will be replaced tomorrow and the cost will be less than $50.00.

    I took the mower over to Bob's shop and I explained the problem to him.  He asked me a few questions and took a look at the mower.  It only took him a few minutes to figure out what the problem was and fixed it.  It was so quick and easy.  He was such an easy man to work with; very professional and so helpful.  The amount I paid him was minimal.  I will call Bob again if I ever have a problem with the mower, or when it needs a tuneup.  He gets an A plus rating from me.

    His truck came on the Monday morning, took a cash down-payment of $50, and took the tractor away.  I hoped to be able to get it back in four days, by Friday, and the driver said that there was always a chance.
    Lo and behold, I received a call just after noon on the next day, Tuesday, telling me that the work was finished and the tractor could be delivered that afternoon!  The driver brought it back by 5 PM, and it looked very clean and the deck was back at normal height.
    When I mowed the lawn on Thursday, the machine cut like a charm; the sharpened blades, cutting at the correct height, made all the difference.
    I would gladly use Bob's again for service or repair to my mower.

    The service was very prompt and curteous.  Had my snowblower  back in 6 days.  It seems to run fine.  I left the "Quality" rating as N/A until I can use it in the snowy driveway.  If it does what it's supposed to do, I'll come back and rate the quality then.

    I highly recommend 'Bob's Mower'. I dropped my snow blower off on a
    Sat., you deal directly with the owner 'Bob' whose shop was very clean and
    organized, 3 days later he called that it was done. Bob cleaned the carburetor
    and checked belt, scrapper etc. He let me know parts were still sound and did
    not do any additional unnecessary work to inflate charges. I plan on bringing
    my mower in for a spring tune-up after this positive experience and will

    Picked up lawnmower the same day I called to get service.  The mower was repaired and returned the same week.  Replaced valve gasket cover, adjusted exhaust and intake valves.  Will go back in spring for a tune-up.

    It was a beautiful sunny saturday morning, my wife was going to be hosting our son's birthday party. However, the grim reality of Murphy's Law quickly slapped us in the face... 90% of the way through mowing the lawn, our precious craftsman lawnmower (from here on out referred to as 'Excalibur') slowed to a halt and failed to start back up again. A week later, I journeyed through dark forests, fierce creatures and a wicked witch to find the one who would save us, Excalibur... and my precious lawn. Our magnificent savior was Sal... of SMS Service.
    With valiant bravery and the heart of a thousand lions, Sal responded to my need with the urgency of the truest knighthood. Answering every phone call I made during the process, I was never left to wander in the abyss of the unknown. I dropped Excalibur off on the way to work and it was ready on my way home. Sal also offered a well priced tune-up for an additional $50. The demons of my lawn have never been so afraid as they were when Excalibur made his return with blades as sharp as a filet knife. Once proud and cocky, each finger of grass now bows to its infinite strength. Needless to say, my lawn has looked beautiful and mows very easily now.
    With all fun aside, Sal was terrific. The tune-up was well worth it. It starts on a dime and cuts like a knife. It was also very quick and only cost a cool Benjamin. It was also returned with a much needed cleaning. Great job SAL!!
