I couldn't even get them to come out and do the work. They came out and gave me an estimate in mid April on a dozen items or so, some of which I wasn't ready to get done quite yet, but about half of them I needed done soon. To be honest, the estimate seemed quite high for the list of minor stuff I needed done. The estimate was for every item I asked about, EVEN THOUGH i said i needed a breakdown at the time of the estimate since I wasn't going to get everything done at once. So I called at least 4 or 5 times trying to get a break down of the items so I could schedule the work, and time after time they told me they'd get me the break down. 2 months later, I get an email giving me a bunch of excuses why they can't break down the estimate. I could tell he wasn't interested in doing the work because after after 4 or so call he says, "we're backed up 3 months at this point". Avoid Stone's Construction!

    JM Design Build
JM Design Build far exceeded our expectations with the entire process. While vetting several builders in the Cleveland area, JM shot up to the top of our list for a couple of reasons. My brother-in-law used JM to do a remodel of their kitchen/dining room, and I was very impressed with the quality of their work. I was also impressed by how responsive and courteous they were with their replies. You'll be shocked at how prompt the responses are. I don't like to bother people on the weekend, but that didn't stop JM from providing me details and info during the weekends, when I wasn't expecting it. We were very happy how accessible Kevin the owner was during the entire process. They were very easy to communicate with and treated us with patience as we went back and forth with questions regarding the scope of the project, and trying to fit within our budget. We determined JM Design was our builder of choice because: 1. They were very responsive, courteous, and up front with all the information we were looking for 2. The quality of their work was easy to see with pictures from their website, and seeing the work they provided for a family member 3. Their price was fair compared to other quotes we received (Not the cheapest, but weve made the mistake with going with the cheapest too many times). 4. We had a very unique and challenging design in our minds. Rather than suggesting less complicated or easier designs, JM loved the idea, and confident they could make it a reality 5. They invested the time to respond to dozens of email/text questions/concerns and made several trips to our home to help us discover the best plan for the budget we had Once we signed the contract and started the build, I was surprised that JM Design Build continued to treat us like they were earning our business, as other contractors we've used didn't seem to be as pleasant once they secured the business. As each working day would end, JM's team would clean up the job site, leaving it secure, and removing any hazards, which allowed my family to continue using the back yard, and my dog to run around without the threat of stepping in anything that could hurt him. These guys were very flexible during the build as we wanted to make last second minor changes, Kevin the owner worked with us to provide multiple options, and worked with us to provide multiple drawings of the project so we can get it right. JM was very diligent while working with our city to follow very specific building codes, and inspections. We cannot say enough about the building team. It didnt take long for the experience and expertise of their carpenter Neil to show, as the small details of the project were very impressive. Our neighbor went out of her way to tell me how she was impressed with how detail oriented the build team was. She said, I knew you were going to get a quality product because how detailed everyone was being. Kevin the owner pointed out a couple of things that he thought werent perfect and that we didnt even notice, and they would fix. My wife and I are extremely happy with the final product. We were expecting the worst based on our previous experience with multiple builders, but we ended up with the best. JM Design Build finished our project on time, and never once came to my wife and I asking for more money than we agreed on. In fact I know they had to make additional fixes they werent planning on, because of mistakes or poor work done by the previous builder of the deck. JM Design Build IS THE FIRST builder/contractor that my wife and I are happy to refer. Thank You, Dan Curran

    D.W. HAW Construction
My wife and I presented a challenging project for Doug. We wanted a warm weather, screened enclosure attached to our house. We have a sunroom that extends out of the center of the back of the house. Thus the sunroom kind of divides the back of the house in half. There is a deck attached to the back of the house. The deck essentially spans the entire back of the house, wrapping around the sunroom. Over the years we've purchased various gazebo type structures, commonly available at Lowes, Sears, etc. They worked fine, but we found that even with good care and maintenance they would wear out and need replaced. So we decided to look into an attached enclosure. We didn't want to enclose the entire wrap around deck, only a section off of the back and one side of the sunroom. This would be approximately 16 ft x 14 ft. We wanted a screen enclosure that looked nice, and was attached to the back of the house as well as one wall of the sunroom. We wanted to be able to walk out of the sunroom directly into the enclosure.
What made this an interesting project is that the sunroom has a gable roof, the pitch of which is 90 degrees to the roof which extends down the back of the house. Suffice it to say that the roof angles is what made this an challenge.

We had a few remodel contractors and enclosure companies come out to the house to take a look. They either came up with designs that didn't interest us or did not feel they wanted to attack the roof angle problem. We found Doug on a recommendation from a friend. We contacted him sometime in April 2012 and he came to the house to have a look.
Doug recognized that the roof angles certainly made this an interesting project. However, as we described what we wanted, you could tell Doug's mind was working on the problem and he actually came up with a few very good ideas even as we talked. We felt very comfortable and decided to have Doug continue to work on some ideas and draw up some designs for us.
We were not disappointed at the designs and ideas that Doug presented to us. We decided to hire Doug to do the project. As the scheduled start date was nearing, it was interesting communicating with Doug going over more and more ideas. We realized quickly

We were not disappointed at the designs and ideas that Doug presented to us. We decided to hire Doug to do the project. As the scheduled start date was nearing, it was interesting communicating with Doug going over more and more ideas.  We realized quickly that Doug someone who loves the challenge of the project, loves to come up with ideas. We would find this outstanding characteristic throughout the project. Many times he would have ideas that would save money or for very little cost add functionality or a great look to the enclosure.

Construction started in June, 2012. It was a two man crew, Doug and Jason. This would be an involved  project. Due to another project that they had scheduled, they could work on our enclosure from June into the middle of July. They would then come back at the end of August to finish.
As construction progressed, we found their professionalism to be outstanding. We were impressed daily, talking to them about progress, little ideas here and there, impressed with their work, and the progress of the project. We could see immediately that Doug was a perfectionist and loved the details of the project. Yet, he did not get mired in the details - the details were always connected to the overall goal of the project. But it was the little details that added so much, where to put the light switches, where to put the ceiling fan, how far down should the ceiling fan hang. From day one, we knew we were getting a solid, well made, professional, nice looking deck enclosure.

In July construction ceased so that they could work on their other scheduled job. They left thing buttoned up nicely so that there would be no leaks from rain. They cleaned up everything and left the construction area in good shape for their return.

They returned at the end of August to finish. We found their approach to be the same throughout the project, professional and detailed. They didn't come back just to slap the end of the project together. They came back to finish final construction and put their professional finishing touches on a fabulous deck enclosure that we absolutely love.

Doug at D. W. Haw Construction is knowledgeable, professional, pleasant to work with. He has a keen sense of knowing just what you want, is soft spoken - definitely doesn't push his ideas, he is open minded to your ideas and he has a great sense of humor! Doug is patient, takes his time, thinks things through and makes sure to get it right. You don't feel like you are working with some huge corporate entity. When you hire Doug, you feel like you are working with a friend.

They did a beautiful job. They offered additional options that others did not offer. They were professional and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and we would highly recommend them.
