ANortheast Ohio Fence & Deck, IncWe had originally gotten a quote with Ron back in the end of June and signed our contract in July. We were told it would be 6-8 weeks which I’m was fine because we weren’t in a rush. Then everything got messed up with COVID and it ended up being a little longer due to the wood shortage. The only negative I have about that is the lack of communication letting us know it would be pushed back. I had to call multiple times to get an answer. Again, it wasn’t a problem but I appreciate when people just communicate with me about progress or setbacks. Last week, November 3 they sent out a crew of young men to set the posts and remove the old fencing. While the posts they set were great and I had no issues with that, they left a ton of posts still in the ground and a mess on our side yard. They left rolled up fencing and metal poles along with tons of the little spirals of fencing all around our yard. We had the salesmen back out to verify that they would be removing the stumps of the old fence they left as it didn’t seem like they should have left them. He agreed that they would be removed and he was not happy with their cleanup either. We had the final fence install yesterday, November 10 and I am beyond thrilled with their work. They were amazing! This crew was so easy to work with and they really did an excellent job. Buddy walked me around our property and made sure I knew what would be taken care of. Nick and Joe were also awesome! They had to deal with a hard neighbor and handled it very well and professional. It was such a different experience with these three gentleman than we had last week with the other crew. They cleaned up all their mess and ended up fixing the mistakes of the last crew too. You can tell that they treated my property like it was their own. We are so thrilled with how great our fence looks and I would recommend them in a heartbeat! Thank you Buddy, Nick and Joe! You are 5 stars in my book!- Brian B.

AMr. Handyman of S. Orange/Westfield/Scotch Plains & MetuchenIt went as smooth as possible. Mr. Handyman and Ron Potesky's team turned an attic into a bedroom with A/C and heat, built a closet, replaced major kitchen appliances, replaced carpeting, replaced all smoke and CO2 detectors, re-wired ceiling fans, painted all interior walls, powewashed the deck and vinyl fence, then painted the deck, removed and donated or disposed of all furniture and personal items of the tenant. The team coordinated all appointments of city inspectors and professional sanitization of a very dirty space. When Mr Handyman was done, the intetior of the house looked like something out of Better Homes and Gardens! The team could be totally trusted with the housekeys. They coordinated with the realtor and the house sold in one week end!!! I highly recommend the integrity, workmanship and reliability of Mr. Handyman now located in Springfield, New Jersey, and i would hire them again in a heartbeat!!!- Iris B.

AI attempted to place a review on Angie’s List about J & J PROFESSIONAL SERVICES. I found the site was difficult for me to navigate. I was not happy with the way I worded my review. What I wanted to say was not clear I was more than pleased with the job Joe did for me, as well as the final price. This did not come across the way I intended . Angie’s list representative deleted it for me so that I could start fresh. I also wanted to add before and after pictures. My front porch windows are the fourth job JOE from J & J PROFESSIONAL SERVICES performed for me (so you know I am a repeat customer). Joe replaced my deck steps, fixed the support beam on my back porch and tore off a part of the deck that I wanted removed. My closed-in front porch windows were too small for the frames and could not be securely fastened in place. I was unable to wash them without taking them down. The initial estimate JOE gave me, I felt, was rather high. But, he did tell me that it was difficult for him to quote an accurate price as he did as he did not know how he was going to approach the problem. The end result was much better than I expected. And Joe adjusted the price considerably. I’ extremely happy with the out come JOE has old school work ethics and takes pride in his work. He shows up when he says he’s going to come and works nonstop. He’s very knowledgeable about unconventional problems. “YOU SHOULD HIRE HIM !” Now I’m again,going to attempt to add before and after pictures.

ATook two months from signing contract 7-30-2020 until start of job due to backlog of work and materials (railing and decking). Contract was simple and straightforward with lifetime warranty on labor; 30 year Timbertech warranty on composite decking. Crew of three professionals started 9-28 and finished 9-29 - two days total. On Monday afternoon, Foreman Mike rejected the dozen 2x10x16' joists delivered by Carter Lumber as defective, getting a replacement shipment of good quality boards delivered to site after hours. Mike & crew said "we wouldn't use that first shipment for our home, and we won't use bad lumber on yours". Klassic left a big bottle of deck wash soap and recommended a trip to Home Depot for stone pavers at bottom of steps which I did the next day. My deck has been competed for three days now, and I can't find anything wrong with the job - nothing. We used Klassic Custom Decks because our friends in Medina recommended them after they installed a much bigger, complex, mutli-level wood deck for them in May 2020.

FWe recommend you find someone else. They're either so busy they can't take on new work right now or just unresponsive. We had high hopes based on the many good reviews, but my husband called and left 2 voice mail messages over the past few days requesting someone to call and schedule a time to give us an estimate and they haven't returned his call. They have a generic voice mail greeting that doesn't even confirm you've reached the company. If they cared enough to record a proper greeting, they could include a message saying that they're overbooked (or whatever) and it will take several days for someone to return the call. Very disappointing.
