I called and made an appointment for August 10 2017. No one showed up for the appointment. No one ever called. I called them after a few days and asked why no one showed up for the appointment. She said she would ask "Tim" and call me back. Again, no one ever called me back.

I made an appointment with Jason for the estimate. No one showed up at the appointed time. I called them after about twenty minutes to ask why no one showed up. Jason first said he had a problem with a job yesterday. When I asked why he didn't call me to let me know he couldn't make it, he apologized and said he just forgot about the appointment. He asked if I wanted to make another appointment for the following day, but I was afraid he would forget to put up the fence.

.I called in April for an estimate for our wood picket fence to be replaced.  An estimator came out the same day and gave me a price.  After a call back to get clarification on some items, we determined the best time for us was in August.  They came out on a Tuesday to start the work, bringing all of the materials and equipment needed.  Their first estimate was to be done in two days, but with the tremendous amount of ivy on the fence and overgrowth around other parts of the fence, plus harder than usual ground, the whole job took four days.  Darryl, Greg, and Alec were very knowledgeable about what had to be done and how to do it.  They worked well as a team and were prompt each day.
This was the first time they had done an alternating height wood picket fence (we wanted that to match other fencing we had), and when they ran into a problem, it was quickly resolved.  I would recommend them to anyone that needed a fence built.

I was not too impressed with them. Two of them showed up for a one-person job. They charged me twice as much in time and I never got an invoice that told me how much time I had racked up. They were not here very long. Then they charged me for the stuff that they used and then they said that when it dries I need to do this. I have never used a handyman before, so I do not know if that is what they do. I just was not impressed with the job. The fact that I did not get an invoice, I did not like that at all.

I was still living in Columbus when the fencing was done, so I wasn't able to oversee the job.  I asked that the wooden fence next to the chain link have the posts put in concrete when it was put back up.  Evidently this did not happen because over the next few years the posts sagged more and more until some were leaning at about a 45 degree angle.
With the small fence around the fish pond, it looked good at first.  However I soon found that I could not get around the pond since there was a gate only on one side, and the fence was so close to the rocks that they have to be climbed in order to go around the pond to weed or whatever on the other side.  This has been really inconvenient.  Some thought into the placement would have been appreciated.
With the chain link fence, the caps started popping off the fence posts within the first year.  I would try to pull them back and put them back on the posts.  They might stay a while but would pop off again. and more would come off.  So now there are many caps off the fence posts, and most are a considerable distance from the posts.  I truly regret that I didn't ask them at that time to come out and put the caps back on, but I just didn't realize the problems that would cause.  Now water has got into the posts that are without caps, frozen, and caused some of the posts to split.
It was only when the fence started to rust that I called Springfield Fence Co. and asked them to come out and see what could be done.
When I called they said they would be out in the next few days and would call before they came.  Very nice and polite, but they did not come out and did not call.
So I called them again about a month later.  Again they said sure, they would come out and would call before they came.  Again they did not show and did not call.
I asked the Better Business Bureau to help me get them out to look at the fence.  The BBB forwarded my request to the company and gave them a deadline to respond.  About two weeks after the deadline a representative of the company did drop by.  He didn't call first, just dropped by.  He was evidently not in a good mood that he had to come out.  Right away he said the sagging wooden fence next to the chain link fence was due to customer abuse.  What the abuse could have been I don't know.  He said it looked like something had pushed it from the other side, but that couldn't have happened because it's right up against the chain link.
Then he said the caps coming off the chain link fence must have been customer abuse as well, that he didn't know what else could have caused it.  At first he did say he would repair that, put the caps back on the posts, because that shouldn't have happened..
He said the chain link fence would rust, nothing he could do about that.  He was rude and dismissive the whole time.  Then as he left he said he didn't know if he would put the caps back on the posts or not.
The BBB then closed the complaint.  They didn't give me a reason.  I have not heard from Springfield Fence Co. again and do not expect to.  I will have to bear the considerable expense of replacing the fences.

The whole experience was very good. They were responsive, on time, efficient, and did the job as requested. I can see why they are busy. If I need any fencing needs they will be the first company I call. Mr Ryman the owner was great in keeping me informed by email and phone. I have two dogs and they had to put up temporary fencing to keep them safe and in the yard. If you need fencing done call them.

So far good. (Update, 6/8/10) The overall experience was fine. The two man crew were very hard working, The lead crew man Rob was excellent. He even allowed us to inspect and measure his alignment line before any digging of posts were done. The neighbors even notice how are working the crew was. The finished job looks great. We had them install solar light on the gate posts and it looks very attractive. Neighbors like the job also.

This company was the lowest bidder out of 4 submissions. It was $800 cheaper the highest bid for the exact same specifications. Other than the fact that the instillation was supposed to have been completed while I was visiting family in another state, and wasn't, I have absolutely no complaints about the bid or the quality of the work done. Part of the problem was beyond their control, though. It rained heavily for a few days after the privacy fence was removed and they couldn't get the posts into the ground before it got too wet to work on putting up the chain link.

WONDERFUL! They came out and installed the 6' tall aluminum black fencing with locking gate around our back yard and pool area. The fencing is even all around. The fencing is extremely secure. The gate area works perfectly and locks as intended. The installation was completed in less than a day. The area was neat and cleaned when they left. The cost was the same as the estimate. They surpassed our expectations! We are constantly getting compliments on how the fencing looks when people come over.
