  • I guess the surgery went well. I was still groggy on my way home. Fell aslerp and don't remember much on 1.5 hour drive home. I was ok the first few days after surgery. 4 days later I started hurting so bad I was in tears and the pain meds weren't helping. I called and they got me in the next day. Put $40 in my van to make the 3 hour roundtrip. I was in tears in the office chair and the dentist said I was healing well and gave me a different pain medication in addition to the 2 I already had that weren't working. He said I didn't have dry socket. Also told my dentist that who called them. I was in so much pain and the new pain meds they gave me on this day was not working either. I couldn't get in to see my dentist until the 21st. So, I did my own calling around and a friend referred me to a dentist close to me who I have never been to before and they saw me on an emergency basis. I had to pay $56, but they said I did have dry socket and didn't get it overnight. They said Magnus should have packed my hole that also had food in it. I spent $40 in gas to make a 3 hour roundtrip for more pain meds I didn't need and then spent $56 at the new dentist because Magnolia said I didn't have dry socket, which I did. Wasted $40 In gas I could have put towards my son's school trip. The $56 wasn't wasted, but I had to blow that from a friend til I get paid. Had Magnolia did what this new dentist did I would have $56 in my pocket. This new dentist asked me to come back tomorrow and Friday and not charge me. I am already feeling a lot better and not in the pain I was in. I will NOT be going back to Magnolia and I will be telling anyone I know not to go back. I didn't like the fact either that they don't bring the family back to talk to them wither or tell them how it went. They wake you up, still groggy, put you in a wheelchair and wheel you to your car and send you home. I won't be going back and I don't recommend it. The only thing I like is that they are good avo ut getting you in fast. They even got me in 3 months faster than the other surgeon I found who took my insurance. Had I listened to Magnolia and not got into my regular dentist til the 21st I'm wondering if I would have been addicted to the pain pills I was given because I was hurting to bad I was taking them arou nf the clock. It didn't even help 100%. They made the pain bearable for a half hour. A lot of whatifs had I not listened to my friends and family and found another dentist to see me on an emergency. The staff was friendly also. I will give them that. I also saw people standing because there were not enough chairs in the waiting area. I talked to the office manager and she basically told me that I was lying in so many words and that I must have gotten dry socket overnight. This was NOT an overnight thing. Even the new dentist said it should have been packed when I went to Magnolia the day before. It didn't happen overnight she said. I was hoping the office manager would offer to reimburse me for the gas and/or money I didn't have that I had to spend on a new dentist because they didn't help me when I was there at Magnolia, but she made me feel like I was crazy. Obviously that's not the case at all.

  • Dr. Howerton was actually my dentist for many years. He is a fantastic person with a big heart, but probably the worst dentist I have ever had. He is very available when needed, but I have yet to have him fill a tooth that didn't have a problem. It's a pity because, as a person, he's really great.

  • I have been going to her for 5 years now. She always works around my schedule and I never have to wait long. They are very efficient and I haven't had any pain while I've been going there.
