First, the receptionist was very rude stating that my insurance wouldn't cover the immunizations. I told her my insurance has always covered immunizations. She continued to argue, warning me that I'd be billed if my insurance didn't cover the shots. She even went as far as telling me to step aside and let others sign in so I could call my insurance and discuss this issue with them! I told her that I was getting the shot and if I get billed, than I get billed. I was not calling anyone or stepping aside. She then asked me to sit and wait for the doctor to call me.
After all that, I waited in the waiting room for over a hour! Then, once I was called, I waited in a room for over an hour! Also, there were no magazines, books, a clock, tissues - nothing in that room! It was crazy! Finally, I was seen by this really nice Medical Assistant. She took my vital signs and such and treated me very nice. I really liked her.
Once the Medical Assistant left, I waited for another 45 minutes. About 2 minutes before the doctor came into the room, I over hear several staff members, outside my room, including the doctor, talking about my medical history. I heard them mention that I was a smoker and some commented about how nasty and wrong it was to smoke. Another mentioned my age and that I've had 2 children with health problems. One staff member even seemed to accuse me of making my children unhealthy by smoking during pregnancy. But, I didn't smoke during my pregnancies. That was also never stated in their file either, it was assumed. I was appalled.
The doctor came in and did his exam very quick and inaccurate. He rushed and even at times seemed like he wasn't even paying attention to me. He would just chat up a storm with the lady (maybe another MA, I don't know) that came in with him. Then, the doctor asked if I smoked. I though, and quot;here we goand quot;. I said that I did smoke, but was slowly quitting so I can get a job in healthcare. I had cut down to 1/2 of what I was smoking. Well, he didn't even let me explain that, he just cut me off saying, and quot;Do you have kids? Do you smoke around them?and quot; I said no, I go outside. He then said that I do smoke around my kids because it follows me back into the house with me. He said that in order to never smoke around your children, you would have to, and quot;strip nakedand quot;, go outside, smoke, take a shower, then put fresh clothes on after ever cigarette. Who says that!? He then left the room, signed my papers for school and I got my immunizations from the nice Medical Assistant I saw first.
Today, on 10/07/13 I returned to get the rest of my shots due for college, and the receptionist (rude as usual) tells me that my insurance doesn't pay for immunizations and said in order to be seen at all, I'd have to pay cash, up front, right then and there. I told her she was lying and I left. I called my insurance and the agent from my insurance called that urgent care asking why I was refused care and the doctor and receptionist both stated that they didn't get paid enough to give immunizations to (my insurance company). That urgent care accepts my insurance so they should accept me. They can't pick and choose services they want to give people. That's why they sign contracts! I'm never going there again!

I saw Dr Johnson who had a wonderful bedside manner. Gave me an antibiotic and referred me to a wonderful cardiologist since I was new to the area. All of the staff was equally helpful and kind.
