Mr. Walker Biggs and his team performed excellent work on my condo. I had just relocated to Cleveland from New York City/Manhattan. First time condo buyer, first time to hire contractor. Biggs and another contractor were recommended by a friend. Selected Biggs Toral Rehabse. Why?Because he was prompt in responding professionally in writing to my proposal. Although he was slightly more expensive then the other contractor - I was impressed by his detailed response and positive attitude. He and his crew began job the dayI officially hired him. Professional workers, friendly, completed job in timely manner. Also always left premises clean and neat. Mr. Biggs would offer good suggestions when I asked - since I was new to this contractor/remodel world .(yes, I took some of his suggestions!). I would hire him and his crew again in the future. In addition I attest to the integrity of Mr. Briggs and his crew with the care of my new condo. Highly recommend Biggs Total Remodel.

    Hurd Home Services
The rep was on time and courteous during the estimate. He stated that he didn't need to see the inside of the room, just the outside, in order to provide an estimate. He stayed for just a couple of minutes and talked about what posts he would use, what the inside finish might be, etc. Then two days later, I receive a note saying on that he "will not be bidding on your project." No other explanation. I RUSHED home in a downpour through heavy traffic to meet this guy, he pretends to have interest in the job, and then he emails with a form letter just to say never mind with no indication of why. What a WASTE OF TIME this company is. Update, 4/28/17: In response to the owner's comments on a previous review: We called the handyman, who did not answer his phone, ten minutes before the appointment to say that we were stuck in traffic and would be no more than five minutes after 6p. We arrived at 6:04p. Our small dog barked during the handyman's visit. The dog was locked in a third-floor room during the visit and at no time made contact with the handyman. The handyman was rude and, frankly, did not inspect the enclosed porch to determine the scope of the job. He never set foot inside the room and performed only the most cursory inspection of the exterior before saying he didn't need to see anything else. He never gave us a timeline for providing an estimate, and that's why we called: to obtain a timeline for providing an estimate (would it be a week, a month, longer?). In all, completely unprofessional service from a handyman who seemed unprepared for the scope of the job.

    JDR Home Improvements
After some difficulty in arranging a time and date for Goran to visit our home, located in an adjoining suburb to his business, he came out to view the sunroom and provide his opinion. The lower panels of the walls have some significant water damage, and we wanted estimates on both replacing those panels and replacing all three walls completely. Long and convoluted story short, it's been a month, and Goran still has provided no estimates. In an email response nearly three weeks ago, he noted that "I have couple estimates that are ahead of yours and I am not working on any of them this week due to the very busy schedule of jobs we are trying to finish." I've heard not a peep since. Seems that unless your job costs more than $5,000, this company wants nothing to do with it.

    JDR Home Improvements
JDR did an outstanding job on our project and we highly recommend this company. They were very thoughtful and detail-oriented throughout the project. Two particular points stand out as exemplary. First, our city is really aggressive with permit issues and an architectural review board process. JDR did a great job working through the intricacies of this process and was very attentive to make sure we were comfortable that all work was approved by the city in advance. Second, we have a young child and JDR was careful to choose a heating solution for the room that was as safe as possible for young children. The quality of the work is excellent and was completed in an efficient manner. We were very impressed with this company and plan to utilize their services in the future.

Betterliving Sunrooms of Akron Canton Cleveland
We wanted to keep the original roof, as we had already spent a lot of money on it two years previously.  This was not easy as the room is under a very large deck.  The foundation need to be replaced as the old one would rise in the spring and sink in the fall, reflecting the amount of moisture in the ground, and opening and closing a crack where the sunroom met the house.   I watched the new foundation go in, and perhaps the house will move someday , but the new sunroom isn't going anywhere.  The new windows and doors are a delight, especially after struggling with the old ones.  Mike also covered the outside of the old roof section with siding which made it look like new.  We had some minor problems with the doors, but I never called Mike when he didn't answer the phone himself, and either came that day, or within a few days when I explained it could wait for a more convenient time for him.
I am having him come back and put in a small deck to serve as a step and to keep the dirt from splashing on the new windows.
He has been professional and pleasant throughout.

    Borowske Builders Inc
I had a roof leak due to storm damage in October 2012 (Sandy) that damaged my upstairs closet, living room ceiling, walls and floor and basement ceiling.  The work was covered by my homeowner's insurance so I had to get several estimates to review with my adjuster.
I called Borowske Bulders for an estimate after reading the reviews on Angies List.  I called on Nov 27 and Mr. Borowski was here on the 30th to review the damage.  He was very prompt and after checking the damaged areas sat down and wrote out an estimate for me right then which was great.  I was very impressed with his prompt response.  I did not use this company as the estimate was high in comparison to others that I received.
Based on my experience I would certainly recommend Borowske and would not hesitate to call them again myself.

    D.W. HAW Construction
The end results are amazing!  I use this room as a main entrance to my home and it is now a room I am proud to have people see!

D.W. Haw Construction performed all work on time and within my budget. They kept me informed of progress and any issues that arose where decisions needed to be made.  They kept the jobsite clean & organized.  They are extremely professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable.  They tore down & hauled away my old fence and any debris from the breezeway without extra charge.
I would hire D.W. Haw Construction for any of my future home remodeling projects.

    The House Doctors
We got them from Angie’s List.  They were excellent.  They had an estimate that was lower than what the job entailed.  The job ended up needing a lot more work, but because they were doing the job they were doing it very very well.  I told them to go ahead and finish it up, so it always ended up being a little more than they estimated going into it.  It was okay.  They did a really great job.  They cleaned up every night after they were done.  Everything was put away beside the garage.  There were no nails in the driveway and no paint splatters all over the place.  Their price was $2500.  It included replacing some soffits in the back, which were rotted out.  They were very professional.  The job is holding up excellent.  We can get the same price from others and get crap, so their price was good like their work.  They didn’t do anything bad.  When I called them and said that there was a mismatched paint on one side, they were out the next day.  We would use them again in the future.

    Sunsational Patio & Sun Rooms
It took a while longer than I expected for them to be able to start the work (about 3 months), but they came when they said they would, and finished the job in about 3 weeks. They broke a light fixture while they were working, but paid for a replacement. The workmanship was great, and the porch looks wonderful. The only real negative was that they didn't put down drop cloths in the room that leads to the porch, and I didn't notice that they hadn't until it was too late. The whole room was covered in dirt and dust, and I had a huge job of cleaning it. Also, I am still picking up debris they left in the yard, including cigarette butts. They apologized about the mess, but they could have done a lot to control it if they had taken the time to put down drop cloths.

    Patio Enclosures
Got an estimate ($21,900) for a year-round sunroom, approx size 10' x 11' consisting of two walls connecting to two existing walls of house. The sales rep was very courteous and helpful and wrote up a quote and a very small layout drawing. I wasn't clear on how it would actually look in real life however, no drawings or renderings were provided and I thought the price was quite high for a small room with essentially two walls. They fit their existing products to your house, so it's not a custom built structure. I did not like how the roof would tie in to the rest of the house. I don't think the estimate included any type of heating, no mention was made regarding electrical.
