The tech no-showed an appointment time he chose and did not respond to my calls or messages until over 2 hours later. He asked to reschedule but did not respond when I asked him if he could come in today. Very disappointed!

    Gorjanc Comfort Services
I would have liked to have given them a higher rating, but their recent behavior has been rude, dismissive and unprofessional, so my only defense is to now reach out to social media.   Gorjanc Comfort Services has been my heating and cooling service company for the past 18 years. Services have included: a new furnace installation, new humidifier/humidistat installation, new hot water tank installation, furnace maintenance, and plumbing quotes.   I have been a loyal customer. I always pay their bills on time. So I was surprised last month when I called because my new hot water tank, still under warranty, was leaking. I asked to set up an appointment for service, and I was told to find another service provider. The Gorjanc representative noted that I had services discounted in the past, and I responded that I had used the coupons that they had provided. Was that the reason? And why would that matter?   Last year when the hot water tank was installed, the technician damaged the basement floor paint. They offered to come and touch it up if I would provide the paint, which I agreed to. Then they changed their mind and said they would take something off the bill, i.e. $25. The painting repair was estimated at $100 and they agreed. In my mind, the situation was resolved.   Since then, I have called them a couple of other times, successfully, to replace a humidistat that they had originally installed and for a plumbing quote for which I paid a fee.   The day I was told to find another service provider, I asked to talk with an owner or manager to discuss their decision, and I was assured one would call me back. A couple weeks passed with no phone call, so I mailed a certified letter to the attention of the company president asking him to call me about this. That was more than five weeks ago. No one has responded.   Something has changed within the company in the past year or two. It seems the employees have taken over the decision-making and are calling the shots as to which customers to keep and which to toss. Is anyone familiar with an established service business that runs this way? This is not the quality company I once knew and used.

    Mcphillips Plumbing Heating & Cooling
The furnace did not work properly during the coldest days in Jan. I called them and got a quote for around $80. A technician came and did some diagnosis and cleaning and charged me $120. I told him the quote was $80, but he said $80 was for half an hour labor and $120 was for an hour even though he barely spent half an hour with the job. He told me if the furnace still had issues after his repairing, he could come back to try something else without charging the $40 travel charge. After using and observing the furnace for a couple of days, I found it still had the issue, so I called the company again as he had told me. To my surprise, he refused to come back and told me to call the original installer, which I did. The installer came with some equipment and agonized correctly.

My furnace started to shut-off shortly after each heating cycle due to a clogged water pipe to drain water generated during the gas burn up. Reached out to the team 8AM in the morning, they sent out the crew by 3 PM and had the issue all taken care of by 4PM. Everything was done very professionally and the crew explained to me in details what they had worked on and how they addressed the issues. Thanks for keeping us warm in this cold weather.

We had two different people come out , one to fix burst pipe , other to install an electric combo HVAC wall unit. Weve had a tough time lately finding people who respond and also then follow through. These guys were true to their word. Very pleased with the service received. Would recommend.

    Sal's Heating & Cooling
It went splendidly. The two men on the team - Dean and Kyle - were very professional, cheerful, neat, quiet, and skillful. They arrived when expected, we got a call before they came, they cleaned everything up, and they explained everything at the end of the installation. I would recommend Sal's Heating and Cooling without hesitation.

    Map Construction
Matt was very responsive from the beginning, good on the phone, sent a clear and readable quote via email. Once quote accepted was able to schedule the job within a decent timeframe. Once both jobs performed they were done well. I would definitely use Matt with Map Construction again.

    Gorjanc Comfort Services
We have used Gorjanc to service our steam heating system in the past. This spring we noticed a leak coming from our furnace and some corrosion on some of the outlet pipes. Because we are preparing to sell our home, we wanted to get an assessment of the problem. Gorjanc was very quick to get a technician out. The tech examined the boiler and quoted us $1400 to attempt to repair it, but gave us the ominous warning that whether it can be repaired is 50/50....and youd lose the $1400 if it doesnt. He happily put us in touch with the sales department to schedule an appointment for a replacment boiler. I reached out to a small owner-operated firm run by a former-Gorjanc technician for a second opinion and I am glad I did. After inspecting the leak, he said he could repair and certify the boiler. He gave me an estimate of $300-700 depending on how long it would take. In the end, he spent just 2 hrs and charged me $250 to repair the leak, clean out the sight glass, test and certify the boiler. There are only three conclusions that can be drawn: 1) Gorjanc has so much overhead, that they need to charge 5-6x the cost of repairs 2) Their technician wasnt competent enough to accurately diagnose a problem and assess its repairability OR 3) They use service calls as a way of driving sales of new boilers. Probably, its all three. PS This isnt the first time weve had an insanely high estimate from GCS. They once quoted us $700 to replace a cracked radiator valve. We ended up having the work done for $200.
