    MARDAN CEMENT CONTRACTORS
My driveway required removal, redesign and replacement and it included the sidewalk to the stoop/front door. Redesign was meant to lessen a troublesome curve on a hill and make it easier to navigate, especially in the winter. Owner Dan, also being a snow plow guy, offered me good advice and I used it. Dan came out twice, and was not bothered by me needing to see the changes marked off again, for the second time. The cement design work on the finished drive and walkway surfaces really looks great. No other contractors even mentioned any top finish work like this and he still had the best price. Cleaning up after the job was less than I expected. Dan left excavated grass/soil chunks from the city approved changes, spaced along the newly redesigned and now poured drive. What grass/soil came out went back in place by me, little by little over the following three days. My only other expenses were a small seed bag, 1/2 bale of straw and a couple bags of top soil. I couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome. Even my neighbors stopped by to say what a nice looking job Mardan Cement did. Dan didn't leave before providing face-to-face instructions for new concrete maintenance. One week after the pour one of his guys came out and sealed the drive. They did a great job and I would not hesitate to recommend Mardan Cement to others. G.K., Solon

    B-DRY SYSTEM CLEVELAND
We hired B-Dry System to do the waterproofing and found the workers to be very punctual, friendly and they certainly they how to do the work. They answered any questions I asked and completed the work just as I was told it would be done. We are very pleased with our completed basement and would be glad to recommend this company.

    GARAGE FINISHER
Fantastic! From Mario Salwan's initial visit to my home and subsequent quote, his company delivered - and on time! He called during the project to be sure everything was going well and to my satisfaction. They moved everything out of my garage and into a trailer; moved the freezer, covered it and kept it running, and were on time, courteous and friendly - and who else do you know that takes photos so they can put everything back where it was before they moved it out of the garage! Great experience

    Tomaro Construction Co Inc
This is the second job that Al and crew have completed for us. First job was several years ago and still looks great. This was a two day pour with the upper-deck (one step) completed first. The water pitch is perfect and illuminates the flooding we had in our enclosed sun-room. Great Job Tomaro. I'll call you when I get ready to pour the garage floor.

    Cemex Construction
John was great to deal with.  He worked with me on pricing and offered various suggestions. He was courteous and his crew did a great job.  He even moved a boulder from our front yard to the back for me.  We are very happy with the results and will use John and CEMEX again in the future.

    Mid-Ohio Asphalt & Concrete, Inc.
We were nervous about choosing a provider for the resurfacing of our driveway.  I know very little about the process and it looked like the prior homeowners stalled in completing the project.  Mid-Ohio was simply amazing.
I like to wait a while to post reviews to ensure I like the lasting quality of the work.  One year later and our driveway continues to be the selling point of our house.  They paved the driveway, mailbox area, and an extra packing spot.  They were punctual, respectful, professional, and the project length was exactly as quoted.  We continue to recommend them to everyone in our business and personal lives.
We renovated almost every inch of our house over the past two years and this experience was the best.  I wish we could multiply this experience with other contractors.

    Specialized Concrete & Landscape Construction
    1. Had to call him back to replace two slabs because his worker rode the forklift up the driveway and the driver drove it onto a yet-to-be poured area, badly damaging the edge of the slabs. This work was done professionally.
    2. Said it was too cold to seal the driveway and he would be back "first thing in the spring" to seal it. Despite our calls, has never showed up. Driveway is now BADLY stained with tree flower and leaf brown stains.
    3. Over the winter, THREE sections of the driveway CRACKED COMPLETELY THROUGH. He offered to "patch it" however that does not fix the problem. The blocks are cracked completely through and need to be replaced.
    4. SOLON CITY INSPECTOR SAID TWO OF THE SLABS WERE POURED WRONG. Solon cannot do anything about it, however.
    4. Despite numerous calls left over the past MONTH he has not returned our calls.
    5. END RESULT -- $10,000 SPENT ON AN UNSEALED DRIVEWAY THAT HAS THREE BLOCKS/SLABS COMPLETELY CRACKED THROUGH. COMPANY WAS NOT PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO FINISH THE JOB, OR TO CALL BACK ABOUT THE SHODDY WORK.
    DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

    Mid-Ohio Asphalt & Concrete, Inc.
We were extremely pleased with the service provided by Mid-Ohio in installing our new driveway.   The old driveway was long beyond its service life and crumbling, and there were other drainage and settling issues with an adjoining patio and private sidewalk.
The guys came up with a plan to replace the old driveway and sidewalk and to repair the drainage system.
The old driveway was demolished and removed and the site was prepared for paving all on the first day.   The new drive was completed on the second day and looked amazing.   Considering the size & complexity of the job we were impressed with how fast it was completed and especially how well it blended with our home once finished, just as though it had always been there.    I was actually excited to see it rain hard several days later and watching all of the water flow exactly like they said it would with almost no puddling once the storm passed.
They say you can tell a lot about a man by the way he takes care of his tools.   Suffice it to say that all of the equipment was perfectly suited for the job and in like-new condition.   Pride and professionalism were evident everywhere.
All in all, this was a great experience with no surprises other than being pleased beyond expectations with the final outcome!

    Integrity Contracting Inc
Excellent. From the start, Joe was professional. I telephoned, he visited our home to give an estimate, and then we agreed to the work. He and his crew arrived when they said they would. Worked hard, worked efficiently, and completed the work. The sidewalk is repaired, level, and he repaired and added to the step.

FRED NERO CEMENT & CONSTRUCTION CO
Fred Nero came out to give estimate to remove and replace the sidewalk that wrapped around our home from the front door to our rear deck. In addition to the replacement of the sidewalk to our front door, we requested the expansion of our 3 foot sidewalk be made a small patio. This would be the gateway to our home. I should have known something was wrong when Fred refused to submit a drawing to the city for the proposed additional square footage of the patio. The city of Solon contacted me and would not issue his permit until I had to personally submit a drawing for the request. It took less than 5 minutes to document. This was not a variance code request, just a drawing to review if it was within code. Fred could have drawn it a napkin and submitted. Once I submitted, a permit was issued immediately. Removal of existing sidewalk that wrapped around home from front door to back deck was completed and forms placed. All other work was completed, of what appeared to be a satisfactory job. The only exception was the dumping of extra concrete at the rear of my property. I discovered the dumping when mowing my lawn and it was not requested, nor any approval to dump the waste. Although it is covered by brush, the mound of cement remains today.
In our first year, a hairline crack developed from north to south on our patio. Fred came to inspect after our call and he left a decade old Plain Dealer article on how cement cracks. The winter of 2012-2013 was very mild unlike this past winter. During this winter we had exceptional frost heave on both our patio and sidewalk in front of our garage. The sidewalk in front of the driveway heaved and cracked in the control joints like it should and resettled upon spring. The patio, however, shattered like a spider web. I have attached pictures highlighted with blue tape to show the extent of cracking. Fred was called and we requested to inspect and give us a call when he would visit. Of course he came when we were not home, despite our request to meet him, and he also inspected on a
snow covered day. He once again gave us the decade old Plain Dealer article in our door.
We contacted and had quotes from 3 contractors to review and quote the replacement of this patio. Each had indicated a very poor install which may be due to any of the following:
    The concrete is too thin.
The concrete is the wrong/bad mix.
There's no reinforcing, or insufficient reinforcing in the slabs.
There are insufficient, incorrectly constructed, and/or inadequate control joints,
expansion joints, and construction joints in the slabs.
The base gravel is too thin.
The base gravel wasn't compacted correctly.
The existing sub-base wasn't prepared correctly.
I made an additional call to Fred and once again requested he stop by when we home. One of his workers Ronnie stopped by
unannounced (just happened to look outside as he was ready to leave) to review the damage. He said something was very
wrong and the cracking damage was not right. However, he could not agree to any resolution without talking with Fred.
Follow-up with Fred was it was a bad winter; he feels bad about it and if Ronnie, his employee, wants to do anything then call him. This is a very poor and unprofessional experience that will cost me several thousand dollars to correct. Fred Nero Cement does not support his work and I highly recommend using him with caution.
