I have rented wheelchairs, and purchased products from them.  They have quality products, and they deliver on time.  They have excellent staff, they are very friendly, and really helpful.

This is the second week that Janine has been helping me. She is very polite and helpful, willing to adapt to our way of living. She observes carefully how we like things done and makes every effort to follow our routine. She has also made helpful suggestions for improving service such as using a plastic basin for the dirty dishes instead of just piling them in the sink. I now follow her suggestion and put the dishwashing liquid under the sink rather than on top of the refrigerator, where right now I could not reach it! She is also experienced in dealing with minor emergencies; When I set off the fire alarm with my smoking bacon, she stopped the alarm by waving away the smoke. There was no fire, just a scare. She has done light housekeeping, tidying kitchen and bathroom, making my bed, watering my outdoor plants, helping me prepare meals--including the bacon in the toaster oven--taking me for walk, grocery shopping for me and accompanying me as as I drove to the store and helping me with the shopping. Today she will take me to have my hair cut. For last week and this week she has come three days a week for three hours (the minimum charge). As I recover I will need her less, but I can cancel any time before the helper actually gets here. The charge is $22 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours. I am very happy with Judson Home Care

They did a good job of interviewing and finding the right people to help us. They are very dependable, and I have recommended them to other people. I would continue to use them if I had a need for their services.

When we arrived we met the representative of the company and she interviewed my mom and took some of her measurements .A month after they took her measurements they delivered the chair.  When the chair arrived it was much too small.  My mom said she felt like it was for a child.  We had a thirty day return policy. We called Health Aid of Ohio and told them to come pick up the chair.  The representative came over and told us that they could make the chair larger for her.  We asked her if we still didn't like the chair would we run past the thirty day return policy.  She told us no, they would begin the new policy when we got the larger chair.  We agreed.  The chair was fine except for one problem   We needed full length arms as my mom needs those arms to push up to stand.  The arms didn't come forward enough.  We contacted the company and they set a date for delivery of new arms.  When the date came they didn't show.  We called them again and they came a week later.  The arms were the same length.  We told them we wanted to return the chair, but they said they would find longer arms and would get them and contact us.  So we waited.  We never heard from them and called them three months later.  They told us those were the longest arms made for that chair; which was an Invacare chair,  We told them to come get the chair we didn't want it.  After they picked up the chair, we got a bill for a three month rental; approximately seventy dollar copay and they charged her insurance about two hundred dollars.  This was partly our fault as we didn't keep after them and waited so long.  We thought we could trust them.  About a month later we received a second bill.  They charged out insurance company a second time for another rental fee for the same chair.  This time the amount was over $800.00 my mom's copay was about $130.00. Through other means, we later found an Invacare chair with the correct length arms but for whatever reason, they didn't make that model available to us.  We also found that about fifty percent of the time when we called them we had to leave messages, they were not good at answering their phones nor returning call from messages we left.

We did not continue with the first person because she instantly started to advertise working for another agency since she was temping for Home Care. We felt that she was more concerned about herself than taking care of my aunt. We really liked the second person except that we could not offer her enough of a regular and set schedule and she found a more rigid schedule. Home Care was compassionate and responsive. The original person we conducted interviews with was really good. We will definitely use Home Care in the future and we will have to analyze their care givers on a case by case basis, which Home Care let us know about. Their response and face to face interview were very good. They were very up front about everything, we can trust them. They were very well trained.

Service was provided overnight; no contracts; excellent caregiver (Rebecca), very prompt, helpful for preparing meals, coaching on excercise, nutrition, compassion. Always prompt. A very nice person. Did light house work and wanted to do more. Fed the cats, e,ptied litter box - beyond the call of duty. By the end of the two weeks was great freiends with my wife as the rearranged the house, wrapped Chritsmas presents. Hated to see her go. Rate is $25 per hour which seemed reasonable to me. I am not wanting for my wife to go through the illness again but I appreciated the availbility, promptness and quality of service so I would request Rebeccas again.

Please note that this is an on going affair. The "approx. price spent" I listed is per 4hr visit. No money is given to the care giver and tipping is not allowed. A phone call to Home Care Assistance from my parents phone by the service provider records the start and finish of the care period.

They were very professional, they were very prompt and responsive in setting up the home care in a short period of time. They worked with my in-laws getting them to accept they care that they really needed. They were available 24 hours.

After checking Angie's List for recommendations, I looked up Kathy Johnson's web site and saw they did provide all of the services we needed. I called and we talked on the phone, and then Kathy came over to interview us for details and to drop off an Agreement. She considered 4 caregivers for us. The first had been working part time for a client who had a medical emergency that required full-time care. We were impressed that they were able to respond so quickly to that client's needs. We interviewed two other candidates, both of whom were qualified, seemed capable, nice and trustworthy, but didn't quite fit personality wise. Then Kathy send a third caregiver to interview. She, too, was fully qualified, and we immediately felt that she would be a good fit; and she has been. She started on the date and days we asked, and agreed to continue on after I returned from vacation. She is doing a great job. Home Care Asst. takes care of all bonding, insurance, workers comp and, etc.
